TBF, Mags, you have been doing a lot of the heavylifting for the quest, so this will be in good hands.
To be clear to everyone, this is just me burning out on imagination of the quest, since my muse has been hitting me over the head a lot with so many different ideas that I just can't find myself too interested in this.
I'll still hang out here, though, since this still does have a sepcial place in my heart.
I'd like to thank you all for making this a wonderful experience while it lasted.
I'd also like to thank @Magoose, @Fluffy_serpent, and @Martin Noctis for doing so much to help prepare and write this quest. I couldn't have done it without you all.
When I watched this cartoon back when Nickelodeon actually knew what to do with their programming and Nicktoons (though nowadays I do wonder if perhaps they gave Butch Hartman a bit too much leeway) I remember thinking that it was a fun if quirky one, though at the same time I found it a bit aimless. Like, one of those cartoons where you just throw situations at the character to see how they react, but with no overall story. I mean, sure there is how Jenny is trying to live through teenage issues, but there never seems to be much consequences, or any reactions about her being a robot besides the first episode.
That is something that could be just put to the side I guess, but it just rubbed me wrong is what I'm saying.
Still, they did great with what they had. I loved the episodes when Jenny had to deal with finding out about dreams or when she faced Vexus and the Cluster. Sheldon was good for a laugh, and the Silver Shell was one of the funniest additions to the series. Frankly, I think the entire series peaked when the season 2 Finale "Escape from Cluster Prime" was shown, though I would have wished if it had lasted longer than a 2-episode finale.
It is kind of a shame that the series has not made a comeback like so many other cartoons have made, almost like it was forgotten, though not by many if what I found in the internet has shown me. However, I believe that perhaps having it made as an anime, with a bit of a more serious plotline and a central story, would have made more memorable, not to mention that having more episodes with which to work with can only help for the writers to find new and exciting ideas with which to work with.
Thus, I give you:
Anime Pitch: My Life as a Teenage Robot GENRE: Action/Adventure/Drama
SUBGENRE: Science Fiction/Comedy
FORMAT: Anime TV Show
Set Up: The story follows the life of Jenny, a super-powered robot with a chip on her shoulder, but a heart of gold. Her primary function is protecting the planet from any disaster. But, like all teenagers, she has her own ideas about how she would like to live her life. Unfortunately, an endless array of global disasters and otherworldly villains keep cropping up, and that's not mentioning the constant attacks by their deadliest enemies, The Cluster.
- Earth has been dealing not only with Aliens but also mystical creatures for a while now.
- Earth has been in a constant fight against "The Cluster" for years now, as such there is a prejudice against Robots and AI, even as they make use of technology.
- Jenny is not the sweet naive girl, but instead more tomboyish and surly due to the prejudice against robots that Earth has. Even so, she still yearns for friends and those she can trust.
- Skyway Patrol is an actual efficient organization, if somewhat hampered by red tape and bureaucracy. The reason Dr. Wakeman left was because of their growing prejudice towards AI, and the danger they may pose towards XJ-9.
- The series is a serialized story, with some episodic takes, but that nonetheless moves the plot forward.
- Dr. Locus and Melody Locus serve as more than just one-time villains. Dr. Locus is a member of Skyway Patrol who, in reality, is a double agent for the Cluster. He built Melody Locus in order to aid him, but was eventually found by Skyway Patrol and imprisoned. Unknown to the Patrol, melody had already been released, and was unaware of her origins.
- The XJ Sisters will play a greater role in the story after their introduction in the middle of it.
- At the beginning of the story Jenny manages to win some approval after saving the city from a Cluster attack. Through the rest of the series, she will face both the good and bad side of humanity, but will persevere with the help of her mother and friends, eventually gaining the approval, respect and admiration of the world.
- Vega will be a constant enemy for Jenny, but will eventually come to see how the Cluster are treating not only humans but robots as well. She will eventually defect and take over the Cluster in the Finale, allowing for peace between both sides.
- Drama and characterization will allow for shifting dynamics through the story, and 2-to-3-episode arc will be the norm, save for the finale which will have a 4-part-arc, which will adapt the "Escape from Cluster Prime" arc from OTL.
- Not all episodes will deal with a fight or with facing the Cluster. Many of the episodes will deal with teenage troubles, as well as the trials and issues Jenny, or her friends, need to face. A couple of episodes or more will also have The Cluster's point of view in order to see life on the other side.
Jennifer "Jenny" Wakeman/XJ-9: She is a state-of-the-art robotic protector of Earth, armed with advanced weaponry and devices at her disposal. She tries to balance her life with duties of a crime-fighter while attending high school and proceeding with teenage endeavors. Though a tomboy and usually surly (mainly due to the constant fights and distrust she receives) Jenny does want to fit in and have friends to whom she can relate and have fun. She enjoys listening to Rock and Heavy Metal.
Seiyu: Minori Matsushima Alternate: Kazue Ikura
Dr. Noreen "Nora" Wakeman: She is a brilliant scientist specializing in robotics, a former member of the Skyway Patrol, Jenny's "mother", and creator of the XJ series. She used to be widely respected and famous, her face appearing on many magazine covers, venerated as a renowned scientist. However, after Armaggedroid was subverted and defeated, she started work on the XJ series, before the growing attitude against AI Robots grew too much and she had to leave.
Seiyu: Makoto Kōsaka Alternate: Miyoko Aso
Bradley "Brad" Carbuckle: He is Jenny's best friend (though not his first) and a friendly student at High School that helps Jenny acclimate once she manages to convince her mother to let her go there. He is known to be very adventurous, and a ladies' man and he tries to get other girls to like him; however, many of the girls he tries to flirt with reject him. Brad dislikes being on the sidelines, and is also observed on many occasions as being stubborn. He intends to join the Skyway Patrol in order to help Jenny in her fights.
Seiyu: Hirotaka Suzuoki Alternate: Bin Shimada
Tucker "Tuck" Cornelius Carbuckle: He is Brad's younger brother, and Jenny's first friend. He has a hyperactive personality and is easily excited.
He and Jenny become friends as he looks at her fight off a Cluster attack and finds her awesome. Tuck enjoys joining Jenny, his brother Brad, and their friend Sheldon, when they go on adventures. Tuck also tends to rely on Jenny to help him with problems he faces, and Jenny occasionally becomes exasperated with him.
Seiyu: Masako Nozawa Alternate: Mari Shimizu
Sheldon Oswald Lee/The Silver Shell: He is a "geek" stereotype, heavily invested in both science and comic book culture. He has a crush on Jenny, but despite his affection, he never is able to get Jenny to go out with him, and the two are simply close friends (though it took a while for Jenny to warm up to him to that point). Whilst normally sweet-hearted and intelligent, Sheldon easily becomes jealous of any boy who shows affection for Jenny. He also built a robot he uses as a suit known as "The Silver Shell" in order to aid Jenny to fight against the Cluster.
Seiyu: Toshio Furukawa Alternate: Yasuo Yamada
Vexus: She is the reigning monarch of Cluster Prime and leader of the Cluster, one of XJ-9's most recurring foes. A cunning and cruel robot queen, Vexus is bent on the enslavement of the human race. She and Dr. Wakeman have been opponents for what must have been quite some time, and Vexus was likely the inspiration for Jenny's creation. XJ-9 typically can outwit and outperform Vexus, but regardless, she has the resources of an entire planet to call upon. Occasionally she does gain the upper hand, typically through trickery and sabotage.
Seiyu: Mayumi Tanaka Alternate: Masako Ikeda
Krackus: He is the Chief Inventor of The Cluster. Though often seen as a "crackpot", even by his own race, and on many occasions his equipment or inventions have broken down. However, Vexus is the one who remembers his successes more than his failures; the Cluster Drones, Cluster Ambassadors and Cluster Scrapyard Officers are among his chief creations which allowed for the better offensive, management, and logistics of the Cluster. Oftentimes, flashes of his brilliance are able to be brought to bear on his enemies.
Seiyu: Chikao Ohtsuka Alternate: Ryūsei Nakao
Smytus: He is the militaristic commander of the Cluster forces. He works under Queen Vexus, though he is independent in nature and is often known to go off on missions of his own. Being the battle-hardened commander of the Cluster's military, he is a military genius, and wields very powerful weapons and rather ingenious schemes which he utilizes in attempt to thwart Jenny and take over Earth with his Cluster army. Smytus is very arrogant, self-centered, and ruthless. He has a loud, domineering voice, often boasting of his power and demanding respect and praise.
Seiyu: Tesshō Genda Alternate: Kōsei Tomita
Armagedroid: He is Jenny's most powerful "brother", designed by Dr. Wakeman about 20 years before Jenny's creation in order to protect Earth from alien invaders and destroy their weaponry. He is the size of a city block and possesses an arsenal of weapons, all of which to serve his programmed duty of disarming and destroying enemy weaponry. Though successful against Aliens, he was subverted by the Cluster, and severely damaged by Dr. Wakeman to prevent him from being used against Earth. Now, he waits for repairs to be finished to extract his revenge.
Seiyu: Kenji Utsumi Alternate: Hideyuki Tanaka
Ruby Rocket: She is a discarded project from Dr. Wakeman that the Cluster managed to acquire, repair, and then repurpose against Earth and XJ-9 in particular. As the discarded "sister" of Jenny, she holds immense anger and jealousy at her for being the one that was chosen to be made instead of her. She is a ruby-red rocket-shaped robot, with high speed, and explosive power. Though not possessing as many multipurpose weapons as Jenny, she makes use of what she has like a pro.
Seiyu: Eiko Masuyama Alternate: Rumiko Ukai
Snarus: Snarus is the Head intelligence Officer of the Cluster. A tall grey, black, and deep blue insectoid/humanoid Cluster robot with a particularly long pointy nose, neon green eyes with small black pupils, and a mouth lined with sharp pale green fangs. He possesses the ability to transform into any object, thus making him a chameleon when it comes to sneaking and finding secrets. later on, he will gain the technology to use holograms to turn himself human and fool everyone around him.
Seiyu: Akira Kamiya Alternate: Minoru Inaba
Vega: She is the princess and the estranged daughter of Vexus. Though committed to her mother's goals, she does it in a way to gain her approval rather than truly believing in them. Through a series of engagements with Jenny, and interacting with the humans on Earth, she comes to doubt, and then oppose, Vexus, leading to her switching sides in the end, with the goal of bringing peace between Earth and the Cluster. She has a trio of friends known as Drab, Shell and Tuff, who are usually clumsy, though loyal to the circuit.
Seiyu: Kazue Komiya Alternate: Saeko Shimazu
Melody Locus: She is the robot daughter of Dr. Locus. Unlike Jenny (or her sisters) and the Cluster robots, she did not show any sign of being a robot, and she herself was not aware of this fact. She was one of the first to befriend Jenny when she was admitted to High School, though her overprotective father tries to limit their interactions. When the discovery of her being a robot occurs, it affects both how she views herself, finding herself betrayed, and thus easy to manipulate by the Cluster into joining them as a double agent...just as her father intended.
Seiyu: Yō Inoue Alternate: Chika Sakamoto
General Hardscape: The Highest-Ranking officer of Skyway Patrol, an old tough scarred man of action who hates that he has to stay behind a desk, yet mindful of his duty. He constantly complains of paperwork whenever one of his operatives steps out of line, with his favorite punishment being to let them take care of said paperwork for a day.
Seiyu: Ryūsuke Ōbayashi
Mr. Piggot: An agent for Skyway Patrol, he was inserted and given a secret identity as a science teacher at Tremorton High School in order to observe Jenny, eventually becoming the link between her and the organization, coming to trust her and even defend her against most of those who would think to speak ill of her. He's more of a researcher than a fighter though.
Seiyu: Yūji Mitsuya
Jaxon Marsden: A Student at Tremorton High School, and the youngest Agent in Skyway Patrol's history. His skills in fighting both armed and unarmed are top notch. He and Brand become friends early on, with him helping Brad in how to defend himself when he goes on adventures with Jenny.
Seiyu: Kazuhiko Inoue
Kenny/YK-9: A teenage boy Robot created by Phineas Mogg. He was the response of Skyway Patrol to fight the Cluster on the same level XJ-) could. Unlike Jenny, YK-9 is very sweet and kind, with an air of naivete to him when interacting with other people. Though Jenny does not seem to like him at first, eventually they do become friends and colleagues when dealing with the Cluster.
Seiyu: Yū Mizushima
Dr. Phineas Mogg: The main scientist of Skyway Patrol, and the man brought to replace Dr. Wakeman. Mogg is a man who is immensely jealous of Dr. Wakeman's accomplishments and always tries to one-up her, often by copying her previous designs, yet falling short of what made them revolutionary. Despite his pettiness and arrogance, he is not wholly evil, as he is willing to fight together when necessary.
Seiyu: Hōchū Ōtsuka
Dr. Locus: He is the father and creator of Melody Locus, a man who served as a double agent for the Cluster before being caught and incarcerated. After Melody's turn, she was able to lead a team to rescue him, thus releasing one of the most dangerous enemies as he is able to perfectly duplicate, and counter all of Dr. Wakeman's creations. With his help, the repairs to Armagedroid could finally be finished.
Seiyu: Shigeru Chiba
Misty: She a ninja alien heroine who later revealed her true villainous side. She possesses ghostly psychic powers and advanced martial arts skills.
Gigawatt: He is an electric interstellar energy vampire who sucks in and absorbs all electricity by contact, growing increasingly more powerful the more he absorbs.
Jiang Shi: They are small creatures that are a cross between vampires and elves. Jenny eventually found out that the only ways to defeat them were to hit them on the heads.
Himcules: He is an orange, muscular man wearing a black toga with a yellow "H" emblazoned on the sleeve. Whenever someone cries out in pain around him, he grows stronger. But if someone laughs at him or his attacks, the opposite occurs, and his powers are diminished.
Space Bikers: They are a group of anthropomorphic frog/fish hybrid alien bikers. They enjoy parties, and especially love to crash parties on Earth, wreaking mayhem and pranking and roughing-up humans in the process.
The Crater Critters: They are large, brutish rock creatures who bathe in lava and claim to enjoy eating brains. Despite having deep, raspy voices, a majority of the Crater Critters are actually female.
Space Pirates: They are infamous and dangerous intergalactic alien thieves, both to others and to themselves as each of their captains tend to get killed by their own crew by accident.
Giant Metal-Eating Fly: It is a massive, mutated fly that can spit a type of acid that only melts metal, which it then consumes. Agile as well as fast, it is one of the most annoying enemies to face.
Giant Sponge Monster: A tiny green capsule-shaped sponge creature. Tuck mixed up the instructions that stated to expose it to sunlight and not to water it. It absorbed the water and expanded; The spongy monster then rampaged in Tremorton because the water caused it pain.
A.N.: I tried making some episodes like I did with Miraculous, but unfortunately though I could plan some beats for the series, I could not come up with a coherent plot to join them together. I do think this could become a good show that on a 52-episode season could become something of a cult classic for the future, at least more than what it has become nowadays, forgotten among other cartoons like SpongeBob and The Fairly Oddparents.
It's an amazing look at the history of the Sonic the Hedgehog's Comic, and in some way's it has made me think over on my previous stance on Ken Penders. I'm not going to lie, i liked his run on Sonic, since (to paraphrase the video) when he got it right, it was pure magic. Reading on what a wild ride it was, what a magnificent work so many of the writers going forward did, and what it's actually becoming nowadays, it led me towards two conclusions.
Number one, we need to get Sega and/or the Sonic the Hedgehog character.
And Number 2, we need to get Ian Flynn to work for us! And for that... we might need Ken Penders on board for the Sonic Comic.
After all, we ahve Marvel, and we can do so much more with the line.
It occurs to me that I've completely forgotten that I was going to bitch about Spider-Gwen a while back until I forgot about it. I'm not going to write out a whole damn essay about it like I originally intended to. Instead, I'll just leave a quick comment about the thing that deeply bothers me the most and I'll leave it at that, but if you want to talk about it with me or are curious about why I feel the way I do about it, then I'll be more than happy to go back and forth with y'all on it, whether you agree or disagree with me.
I fucking despise Spider-Gwen, and Gwen in general, being with anyone other than Peter(don't get me started on that Norman Osborn shit), but I especially hate the constant attempts to pair her up with Miles. There are a lot of reasons why, but it's more so to do with Gwen herself than Miles.
As an aside, Gwen is my personal favorite love interest of Peter's. Don't get me wrong, I love MJ and I grew up with her being front and center in the comics, but I've seen her always more of the end goal and the person who Peter settles down with after coming to terms about Gwen. Not to mention, MJ has unfortunately been subjected to so much bullshit over the years with her character that it becomes a little difficult for me to feel as passionate about her anymore as I do Gwen.
What's your opinion on Peni Parker, Spider Noir, other Honourable Mentions you'd like to share on Spiderman Characters that we could ask Marvel to create?
(With the craze about Mechas, Peni's most likely going to be created earlier as a Spiderman Alternate than Spider Gwen ITTL.)
What's your opinion on Peni Parker, Spider Noir, other Honourable Mentions you'd like to share on Spiderman Characters that we could ask Marvel to create?
You seem to have misquoted me. Not intentionally, I think you just misunderstood what I was saying. I don't dislike Spider-Gwen as a character, although I do dislike most of her story and find it generally confusing to follow the comics. I'm saying I dislike her relationship with Miles that writers are trying to push through.
If you weren't misunderstanding and were just asking a separate question about my thoughts on the other Spider-Verse characters, then I'd say I have incredibly mixed feelings on it. Just to get it out of the way, I fucking loathe Morlun and the Inheritors. Genuinely one of the worst additions to the Spiderman mythos in modern comics. I don't want to talk about it for too long, but fucking hell, I hate them so much. As for the Spider-Verse itself, it's a mixed bag. I do genuinely like some of the alternate Spider-characters and some of the individual stories are good, but it also is part of a larger problem with comics as a whole that is severely dragging it down in the modern day, and that's too much multiversal bullshit and character/____-"family" bloat. I enjoy a lot of the concepts of the various Spider-peoples, but I do find a lot of the stories to be ultimately meaningless since so many of them are just one shots before they're killed off by Morlun, or the stories have no consistency between issues and suffers because of it. This is what happened with Peni Parker. I obviously read her Spider-verse issues before I made my pitches for a Peni Parker manga and show, but I couldn't really use much of it without needing to massively expand it on my own because there's just fucking nothing. No consistency in art, events within the plots, characterization, tone, or anything else. The only constant was Peni existing. I really like the idea of Peni Parker, I just wished that they actually fucking did something with her. I haven't actually read any Spider-Noir issues, so I couldn't say anything about that, but I think the concept is inherently interesting and I did enjoy him in the Spider-verse film. As for honorable mentions... not really? Most of the others aren't fleshed out and unique enough to headline their own spinoff-type series, at least from what I read.
MJ has unfortunately been subjected to so much bullshit over the years with her character that it becomes a little difficult for me to feel as passionate about her anymore as I do Gwen.
Honestly, throughout my entire life I've hated the concept of Mary Jane and Peter being together because I grew up with the Sam Raimi films as my first introduction to Spider-Man, and even my toddler self knew that such a relationship was horrible and that specific version of Mary Jane is one of her worst both as Peter's girlfriend and as a person. They can admittedly work great together such as Spiderverse Peter B. and Mary Jane or the 1994 series, but in most adaptations they just don't click and 616 just goes out of its way to make Peter and Mary Jane one of the most toxic couples in comics with both sides being horrible to each other and just in general. After Peter sold his marriage and erased his future daughters to Satan so his old ass Aunt could live, when heaven literally exists in the Marvel universe and God himself told Peter that Aunt May is gonna be in heaven and be reunited with Uncle Ben, then there is just no going back without erasing 616.
I keep on hearing that the new Ultimate comics are great in storytelling and Peter's personal life so that's fine, but I think for 616 if we are going to treat One More Day as always being canon, that Peter just needs to give up on Mary Jane, move on and never look back. Whether it's Gwen, Felicia, Silver Sable, Kitty Pryde or anyone else it would be a far better situation. Really wish Marvel Adventures Spider-Man got a second life so we could see the OTP of Peter and Sophia "Chat" Sandoval, but I don't want modern Marvel torture-porn writers to ruin them.

I'm not sorry to say that I'm of the complete opposite opinion, as I see Peter and Mary Jane's story to be one of the most beautiful love stories that has been writen by Marvel, and one of the greatest examples of a loving marriage that yes, had troubles, had challenges, and even at some points looked like it was going to break, yet managed to stay together and overcome said challenges to come up stronger than before. To me, it was a tale that perfectly complemented both Peter and MJ's flaws and strengths, to the point that at some moments I wondered if it hadn't been planned as such from the beginning instead of just organically being grown through a multitude of writers.
Then Quesada and One More Day came to ruin it all, because he could not grow up and could not appreciate how the fanbase had grown up and wanted to see Peter keep on growing up.
I'm not going to argue what the relationship and what MJ has become after that travesty of a retcon, the whole idea is stupid and I'd consider it character assassination to both Peter and MJ to even think of accepting a deal with the literal father of lies. Not to mention that the whole idea that Mephisto would change reality just for a marriage? That is too much, even for a comic book.
Frankly, I would just have Peter retire and have a family with MJ during the Clone Saga (ike it was originally intended to) and let Ben Reilly take his place. You have the opportunity to then pair the new Spider-Man with whoever one wants; be it Black Cat, Silver Sable or any other character that might be thought of.
But let Peter and MJ finally have their happy ending.

I hear where you're coming from, but I can't say that I agree. At least, not on the whole. I think MJ is pivotal to Peter's development as a character through what she represents. Gwen is his first love(not literally, considering in original comic continuity, you had Liz Allen and Betty Brant, but 🤫 we don't talk about them and they weren't serious contenders anyway.) and his soulmate(as said by Stan Lee himself). They're meant to have the picturesque, perfect romance and they fit together better than they could with anyone else. Gwen then dies and it breaks Peter. Peter now has to come to terms with her death and put his life back together and him being with MJ is the physical manifestation of this as she helps him heal. His relationship with MJ isn't perfect by any stretch and they go through tons of struggles and hardships and bumps in their relationship, but they come together and work through them together like a couple should. It's a transition from his fairy tale romance with Gwen to the more grounded and matured relationship with MJ. He's grown as a person and truly begun coming into his own not only as Spiderman, but as Peter. It's a closing of one chapter of his life and an opening of the next. It's the same thing with the birth of Mayday Parker. I swear to God, I will never forgive her being removed from continuity. Never forgive, never forget! That's just my ideal framing of things anyway. I just wish the writers would fucking respect the material they've been given, but everyone nowadays thinks they can do better. Fucking egotists.
I don't know whether this is word of god or was mentioned explicitly in the comics, but the reason that Mephisto did this was because apparently in the future, Mayday would eventually kill Mephisto after a final battle, and since apparently she's the only person in Marvel who can do so, Mephisto took action to erase their marriage so there was no possibility of Mayday being born. It's already bad enough that Peter erased his kids, but he also kept Marvel Satan alive as well, great.
For all that the recent years of Batman comics have been trash, at least DC writers never had the balls to have Bruce accept erasing his kids from existence so Alfred could come back from the dead. Although if we ever have Aunt May die, I think it should be from non-violent causes so Peter can have a Superman moment where he understands he can't save everyone even with his great power, and it would allow him to mature and move forward with his life.

I get what you're saying, but as a casual fan, I along with 95% of Spider-Man fans will never understand the history or the deep lore and many comics and storylines they work because we're not gonna go through 40 years of comic books just to appreciate a couple, especially when it will all lead to One More Day.
Speaking of Mayday, I love how Quesada's ideology is absolutely trashed and spit on when the movie came out and one of everyone's favorite parts was seeing Peter B. become a Dad and Mayday's shenanigans. Quesada thought that Adult Peter is something that will alienate the fanbase and yet Adult Peter stories are consistently the best Spider-Man media and what the fandom wants. Unfortunate that the Comics industry is more out of touch with fans than Nintendo.

Nah, I hear you and I totally get it. It's a complete fucking mess and a lot of shit needs to be condensed, or at least structured in a way that makes it easier to consume. At the point we're at, I've honestly gotten to the point where I'm just hoping we get some kind of comics crash that fucks them up so badly, things finally change. Same with the video game market.
He spent 1981 filming ET. It's either in post-production or has just finished. We haven't filmed a single scene of Return yet so nothing conflicts between these two.

As mentioned in the video I showed before, the causes are still there; a lack of innovation, and the lack of support for producers of videogames to the point that retailers can just return the unsold games and cause a loss for videogame companies that can thus only go under.
The Crash will happen no matter what, but if we go with an enterprising mind, create new and interesting games, and perhaps create Videogame Stores that are affiliated with us directly like Nintendo did, then we should be fin.
We do need to keep on innovating and giving something new though, that gamers and buyers got bored was one of the main causes for the crash as well.

Poor guy from an immigrant family becomes a famous movie star, get's a beautiful wife and makes it rich through hard work and determination. It's not hurting anything that Bruce has a reputation as a badass and donates a lot to charity.

Arguably worse with Magoose confirming the switch from future programmers going into Video Gaming switching towards Computers with Apple's new Graphics and Disks.
PC Gaming that truly became as large as it was won't be accessible for at least a decade due to the local, regional, and global internet haven't been developed in innovation and infrastructure to allow games like CS:GO to take advantage of an early rise.
Legit the Tetris Community is still going strong to this day, with new techniques, monthly competitions, challenges, etc. made over the years since its inception.
Arguably worse with Magoose confirming the switch from future programmers going into Video Gaming switching towards Computers with Apple's new Graphics and Disks.
But the thing about Apple computers right now, at least currently, is that they are on a trajectory that is similar to Microsoft in some ways... but that is all I will say.
and just because Apple tech is going to be the basis for gaming does not mean other things will be there for... other things.
Cause there might be a computer war going on between the big pirates of silicon valley.
Looking back on other forgotten gems that really should have been given more attention, as well as the recognition it deserved, I found this. Now, I hadn't seen this movie before, and I had heard many rumors and word of mouth saying how this movie was racist, or how it portrayed practitioners of Voodoo in a bad light so I mostly ignored it. It was just until recently when I took a look at it when I saw that...there was no racism in this movie at all. And the portrayal of Voodoo, well, I'm not the most knowledgeable in that religion or system of beliefs, but showing one that is an evil guy, and another that is clearly a good guy, does not show them in a negative light in my opinion.
The one thing I did find odd was how there seemed to be a lot of equality in 1920's New Orleans, but I guess Disney is not willing to show the reality of the period.
I really liked the movie though. Tiana was a fun character, and Prince Naveem had this Gaston vibes on him before he turned into a better man (which I really liked as said character was a riot!). And don't even get me started on Dr. Facilier, I can now understand why so many people tend to like him as a villain! It's just such a shame that this was the last movie to be animated before the entire studio went on to start making nothing but 3D movies. Still, their loss, our gain, I'd say.
Also, I'm thinking we use the name "The Frog Princess" that they rejected for some reason or another. I think it fits better.
Thus, I give you:
Movie Pitch: The Frog Princess
GENRE: Action/Adventure/Fantasy
SUBGENRE: Musical/Drama/Romance
FORMAT: Animated Movie
Set Up: Based on the German folk tale The Frog Prince as collected by the Brothers Grimm. Set in New Orleans during the 1920s, the story follows a hardworking waitress named Tiana who dreams of opening her own restaurant. After kissing prince Naveen, who has been turned into a frog by the evil voodoo witch doctor Facilier, Tiana becomes a frog as well and the two must find a way to turn human again before it is too late.
Director: John Musker and Ron Clements Composer: Randy Newman
Tiana: She is a gifted cook living in New Orleans during the Jazz Age, with dreams of opening a restaurant of her own. In a desperate attempt to achieve her goal, Tiana shares a kiss with a prince that had been magically transformed into a frog by a voodoo witch doctor. In doing so, however, Tiana also falls victim to the curse, setting off an adventure in the bayou to find a cure. Tiana is an intelligent, resourceful, and highly talented young woman. Tiana is also heroic and is shown to be quite capable of dangerous situations and moments of physical conflict.
Played By: Rae Dawn Chong Alternate: Tisha Campbell
Prince Naveen: He is the eldest prince of Maldonia, who prides himself in being charming and handsome. While visiting New Orleans, Naveen was transformed into a frog by a wicked witch doctor. Only by kissing a princess can Naveen break the spell and become human again. He comes across a woman named Tiana whom he kisses, believing she is a princess due to her attire, but due to her not being an actual princess, she too is transformed into a frog, thus having to face the same problem as him.
Played By: Richard White Alternate: Robby Benson
Ray: He is a Cajun firefly with a romantic infatuation with the evening star, Evangeline. Friendly and helpful, despite being the smallest creature, he has the biggest heart. Some of his loves include music, singing, and entertaining guests of all kind. He is also extremely generous and agrees to help Tiana and Naveen without any reward expected. Though undeniably sweet, he is rather eccentric, often shown to be very excitable, in spite of serious situations. Also, when angered, his golden light becomes a bright red color.
Played By: Jim Cummings Alternate: Frank Welker
Louis: He is a trumpet-playing alligator with dreams of becoming a jazz musician. Despite his size and ferocious appearance, and unlike the vicious, hot-tempered alligators Tiana and Naveen are attacked by when they first arrive in the bayous, Louis is a gentle giant with a heart of gold. He is very fond of his trumpet and his dream is to become a famous jazz player who can perform in front of a human audience. He believes the only way to do this is to become human himself, prompting the gator to join Tiana and Naveen to find Mama Odie.
Played By: Sammy Davis Jr. Alternate: Lou Rawls
Dr. Facilier: He is an evil, smooth-talking voodoo witch doctor who plots to rule New Orleans with help from his "friends on the other side". Having come from a poor background, Facilier grew to resent the rich and prosperous—none so much as the most powerful man in the city, Eli "Big Daddy" La Bouff. Facilier sought to supersede his rival using voodoo and pawns while offering the souls of New Orleans' denizens to his "friends" as recompense.
Played By: James Earl Jones Alternate: Keith David
Mama Odie: She's a blind, 197-year-old voodoo priestess who resides deep in the swamps of Louisiana. She has the sensibility of a zany grandparent—warm and nurturing, but also talkative and easily distracted. She is very casual, never presenting herself as a knowingly all-mighty figure, despite the amount of power and intelligence she holds.
Played By: Jennifer Lewis Alternate: Pat Carroll
Eli "Big Daddy" La Bouff: He is Charlotte La Bouff's doting father and a wealthy sugar baron who is regarded as the most powerful man in New Orleans. Despite his position of power, Eli is shown to be loving, jovial, and friendly. His eagerness to fund smaller businesses shows that he is incredibly generous with his wealth. Because of his friendly nature, however, he can also be a pushover.
Played By: Bill Murray Alternate: Jeff Bridges
Charlotte "Lottie" La Bouff: She is a flamboyant southern belle, the daughter of Big Daddy La Bouff, and Tiana's lifelong best friend. Ever since early childhood, Charlotte was doted on and given everything she wanted and thus gained a very spoiled and shallow personality. Even though she can act self-centered, the debutante is generous and by no means a snob.
Played By: Mary Kay Bergman Alternate: Kath Soucie
Lawrence: He is Prince Naveen's royal valet. After enduring years of disrespect and humiliation from the prince, Lawrence betrayed Naveen and allied himself with the wicked Dr. Facilier to exact vengeance. Even after his deal with Dr. Facilier, however, Lawrence's true nature (one ultimately gentle and sympathetic) overcomes his villainy occasionally, as he is seen with a hint of guilt for betraying Naveen.
Played By: Jesse Corti Alternate: David Ogden Stiers
Eudora: She is the mother of Tiana and the wife (later widow) of James. She is her daughter's confidante and wants her to be happy; also not wanting Tiana to overwork herself. According to Mr. La Bouff, Eudora's the finest seamstress in all of New Orleans, having made most of his daughter's dresses. She's very well-respected by the La Bouff family.
Played By: Margaret Avert Alternate: Denise Nicholas
James: He was a hard-working family man whose dream was to have his own restaurant. Being a loving man, James took very good care of his family.
Georgia: She is a friend of Tiana's and visits the places Tiana works. She shows concern for Tiana because she openly expresses her dislike on how much Tiana works and never takes a break.
Swamp Gators: Hostile and ravenous, they try to eat Tiana and Naveen when they arrive in the bayou after being transformed into frogs by a curse of the evil Dr. Facilier.
Frog Hunters: A trio of bumbling hunters who are in the bayou when they encounter Tiana and Naveen (after they had been transformed into frogs by a curse of the evil Dr. Facilier) and decide to catch them to have frog legs for dinner.
A.N.: I'm thinking this movie can be done for after 1985, perhaps around 86' or 87'. Finding some good actors to do the voices is a pain and a half, but I think I managed for Tiana, so hopefully it works well enough there. I did mention that Prince Naveen gives me Gaston vibes, so I think the OG character's voice actor would work perfectly here.

Bruce O'Brian. America's American. Son of an immigrant, made it big in Hollywood in a show called MASH that you may or may not have had a hand in. Bruce then took some incredible risks on a student filmmaker, George Lucas.
You are Running Lucasfilms Unlimited as their Trusted Vizier.
+ Face of the company: Both Bruce and George avoid public appearances for personal reasons, leaving you as the company's public face and the man everyone goes to; whether or not that is a good thing is up to you. Bruce and George have experienced the dark side of Hollywood and are Angry. They will do things their way, not the way of the establishment, and that will make Enemies. That is likely to reflect back on you, so choose your steps wisely.
- Luck of the Irish. Chaos. Bruce O'Brian is a force of nature. He is just as likely to start a fight with Muhammad Ali on the night before shooting starts as he is to approve a movie that incites a revolution. If he isn't kept entertained, he might even wander off and make a movie as a director and actor for a competing studio. Whatever happens, life will never be dull." (roll dice twice the highest or lowest of the two numbers will be chosen. This trait can be deliberately upgraded and, potentially, upgrade itself.)
- Sci Fi Force Wielder. George Lucas. "Artist, innovator, tech genius, and movie director. George will push the boundaries of what is possible. However, he is just as likely to need a few million dollars to purchase the latest equipment for an experiment that may not work, as to invent something impossible for at least a decade." Annual plan
Roll 100
Bruce O'Brian. Bruce took one look at you when you told him that you had a plan to destroy Universal. You just needed a free hand to act on all Lucasfilm movie plans this year, as well as 300 million dollars. … and he agreed, no questions asked.
Bruce has no idea what you're planning and will not be in a position to stop you either way.., this level of trust and belief... Is almost intoxicating.
There is a saying that every man has his price. Bruce, with his trust and faith in you, long ago paid yours and continues to do so with actions like this.
Bruce will focus on getting Star Wars Revenge of the Jedi— the working title— together from three scripts, Calm George down so he is functional, and Give Steve and Steven Spielberg the support they need.
When he is not distracted by Star Wars, George Lucas is working on distributing commercially available Digital cameras through the Lucasfilm subsidiary Polaroid. He insists he has it sorted.
You have 0 Directives from George to Fulfill this year; You have 0 Directives From Bruce to Fulfill this year. O'Brian chaos roll reduced now only plus +80
Hail Mary – Mary O' Brian has snuck into your office again and has asked for some paper. Whether or not she draws you a picture of a cat, gives you the blueprints of something impossible or does the work of the entire finance department for a month in an afternoon is up to the whims of the mind of the person they are calling the most incredible living calculator in america for all she has just turned four.
D100 => 53
Mary is your favourite O'Brian, quiet polite and tells you before she makes a massive mess of things. Besides, she is also a child and of a similar age to Anders, your youngest son. You attended her birth and have quietly promised yourself that you will do the best you can for her. This Vizier will not usurp the Princess. It would be easier to look after her if she wasn't also the most intelligent person in any room she walks into, and that includes the room full of NASA scientists she is currently working on a rocket for.
She saw you looking at a Map of the Movie theatres that Sony is buying out and, based on past Lucasfilm sales data, has made a metric rating loyalty to Lucasfilm, income ability to compete with Sony-purchased theatres and other ancillary details.
Reward: You now have a list of Movie theatres you can mostly rely on to tell Sony NO and continue to show your, sorry, Lucasfilm movies. A little work and investments will have them far outperforming their less loyal competition and strengthening their loyalty to you.
Sony's ability to dictate which movie will be watchable by the American public (and cut into Lucasfilm's profits significantly decreased)
Popcorn and Soda salesman assistant.- Ensure movie theatres are happy to show Your films and end runs of films you don't want them to a little early.
D100 => 88
Sony's little game has you worried. Sure, MGM had demonstrated why owning your own theatres wasn't a good idea, but there is still some risk. More competition could mean that a product becomes unprofitable, even as the public gets used to the idea that prices should be low, so even when you outlast the other guy, you can only raise prices back to profitability with major backlash.
That meant keeping the Movie theaters that where around on your side and thanks to Bruce you had a new weapon: Otherwise Impossible to get snacks exclusively supplied by Lucasfilm.
Snacks are where movie theaters got their uncontested slice of the pie and often the ridiculous markups all kept the smaller places afloat.
Actual exclusivity would allow for Higher prices, partially because of rarity and partially because people don't know how much the snacksgo for in Ireland. So Bruce's little purchase of Oatfield could be strategically valuable in keeping movie theatres on side, and so far, they have been receptive.
Reward: Movies that are more likely to run the films you want when you want Bonus to distribution

Brandon Lee. Brandon has not been able to have a proper talk to Bruce, so instead, he has come to you.
D100 => 16
You think you get Bandon more than most. He is the one who managed to swindle you out of a lot of money on behalf of Mary O'Brian, all in the name of taking you taking both him and her seriously. It is unfortunate than that you cannot get him into the office for a chat to see what was bothering him. You at least made sure to return his calls even if the timing didn't work.
Fail As much as you like the kid, he picked the worst time to come past your office. You will have to try again Later. He knows you tried, so he isn't blaming you.

D100 => 91
Gambling on past Friendships. Alan Hirschfield has offered to meet you for lunch for a casual chat.
D100 => 96
Roy Disney has had a complicated relationship with Lucasfilm loving and hating it at the same time.
At the so-called partitioning of Warner, Roy all but admitted outright that Disney was pulling out of animation and was on a downward spiral. Taking it as Permission Lucasfilm started collecting Disney exiles and started their own animation department, DreamWorks, Practically shouting to the world that they were Disney's Imagineers reborn and now properly supplied, producing art like Hiawatha, stuff that Walt could be proud of.
It would have been an excellent end of the story, another studio taking up the dropped torch of Walts's legacy … only for that very action to provide the kick in the pants that Disney needed to start taking things seriously and go back to Greatness. Things like The War of the Worlds followed from the remaining Imagineers pens.
Disney no longer monopolised animation and Lucasfilm was becoming a true rival. Battle lines should be being drawn. Every move, underhanded or not, should be considered. Except… Bruce O'Brian is on record stating his love for Disney animation, both new and old… Except Roy publicly states Walt would have loved the work Lucasfilm does … except the main creative force behind the Renaissance was Bruce O'Brian's sister Cat… Except… Disney and Lucasfilm have an understanding.
It's Thursday and one of those meetings that officially do not happen because otherwise it could look like insider trading is happening.
Officially Roy Disney comes past to have a look at the original reel of Hiawatha and quietly brag about the release of The Black Cauldron.
If Roy wanders past the animation department and sees what they are working on and bask in the congratulations from a bunch of creatives who understand, well that's not a big deal, nor is it when he reminisces and hands out tips and advice based on what he saw of his Father ,Walts work. If a piece of paper is accidentally dropped listing when and where Disney plans to release certain movies, make certain moves and do certain things that Lucasfilm might find interesting to either take advantage of or avoid completely, that little bit of clumsiness is not anyone's business. Roy will leave to well wishes and coincidentally pick up a similar piece of paper except with a Lucasfilm header.
It's a complicated relationship but Disney has long experience with complicated relationships and, Well, A friendly rival is far more preferable to an unfriendly one, So you find yourself if not happy than at least content with the outcome.
Alan Hirschfeld, CEO and Practically sole owner of Colombia, will be more blatant as he is presently Collaborating with one of the major owners of Lucasfilm on a DC Multiverse series. The specifics of when, where, and how will be discussed. His Favorite producer and logistical wizard, Kathleen Kennedy, will chime in more than once with improvements to the plan. Both will shake hands over a meal in a specific Chinese restaurant happy with the outcome.
Reward. Disney and Colombia will not Take any hostile actions against Lucasfilm. Random actions are still possible but mitigated to half-strength. There is a significantly increased chance and effectiveness of hostile actions from Colombia and Disney against other Lucasfilm rivals.

(Roll for random tech Boost.)
D100 => 55
That's a turn-up for the books, and it's one that Roy Disney will be somewhat interested in himself. George has somehow re-invented the sodium vapour process Disney was able to get working exacty once. While not a massive boost to filmmaking as it is simply a better version of greenscreen not a completely revolutionary technology, it still keeps Lucasfilm ahead of the pack.
Reward Sodium vapour process reinvented. That fuzzy blue and green tint on compositing work is now gone. Small boost to VFX

Consider everyone has a price. Consider whose price might have already been paid. A young Vietnamese legal clerk in the first weeks of her job, years before having been rescued from the waves by project Light House. She might read a brief and be hit by a flush of rage and, instead of making two perfect copies, makes an error or two and must start again, leaving a completed brief with a few spelling and grammar errors in a bin rather than properly being disposed of. That's not a conspiracy.
A security guard, getting on in years and with a leg that never healed right after his experiences in Vietnam, who had received help and support from veterans'a organization. He might hear the new hire grumbling heavily in her coffee about universal and Sid Steinberger in Vietnamese. It isn't a conspiracy when he wanders past the bin, reads the brief, and is likewise annoyed.
It is also not wrong that he finds himself sitting in his usual chair outside of the secure document rooms and, considering the confidential nature of the documents, places them inside his jacket so no one else reads them. He will be more annoyed than usual and, instead of taking the bus home, will call a cab driven by a new friend from Cuba.
A cab driver who had moved across America to be as far away from Cuba and Fidel Castro. Just has a job to do. A Vietnam veteran with a sore leg will be his passenger and briefly complain about Universal making legal trouble for Lucasfilm. The driver will be thanked for listening to an old veteran and will see the Security guard go into his home before realizing that the jacket was left in the back. He will go to return it but only after finding some creased and folded documents.
The jacket will be retuned. The document will not. When the driver has a job in the direction of Lucasfilm a small package will be dropped off.
Lucasfilm does not have formal agents in place watching their competitors and foes .
It doesn't need to.
Reward. You have a pile of documents that universal would rather you don't. Greatly increased ability to predict and react to their actions.
Jobs – Steve is telling people that Apple is a part of Lucasfilm again. That is getting on your nerves. Remind him of all the Steves you Know he is the least necessary.
D100 => 50
You relax slightly as Steve Jobs walks out of the office and closes the door behind him. You like Steve on a personal level. He reminds you of you when you were younger. Ambitious hungry and seeking respect. He has had more success than you did that age and you can see how it is hurting him. Yes, he has a way with words to the point that some people call it a reality distortion field, but no one is going to buy a Computer for 30,000 dollars just to watch movies at home. Even with the Tron branding he wants you to approve for the latest version. you are not inclined to give it a green light and have said so. Especially if Jobs calls Apple a part of Lucasfilm one day and insists it is separate another. Not when a VCR costs a mere thousand Dollars and getting cheaper all the time.
What you have suggested, what you think will sell is Wozniak and ILM's movie 8 inch disk drive for 250 dollars, still a 125 precent profit on the unit, and an apple 2 core Computer with integrated keyboard for 750.
Steve mentioned he would still be making a serous Profit on the Apple 2 at that price point but he wants more.
Under your suggestion Customers will have to Provide their own TV, but that would have happened anyway with a VCR. Same price and all the Same features.
And then comes the Genius. The Apple 2 has eight expansion ports for disk drives. Perhaps you as a customer would like to also buy a Drive that takes 5/14 inch disks that are cheap and popular for computing? Another $250 dollars please, Or maby a direct docking station For one of Georges Digital cameras. Call that another $250 plus the price of the camera.
How about a printer to print those photos you just took? Do you need special photo quality Paper? How often will you have to replace the consumables like ink. That's a market and a half right there.
What if The Emerald Movie standard is not to your taste? Find the square rigid box the round disk stays in not appealing? Well that's too bad here buy a VCR Drive for another $750 cheaper than a new VCR but no reason not to Gouge them for using a competitors standard. Tape drives like for music? Lucasfilm is not into music and doesn't have a preferred standard so only another $250 dollar drive please. And so on. Sell the core computer cheap make money on Peripherals.
Now to wait and see if Jobs has listened. Sure Bruce O'Brian owns 30 percent, Bruces Brother Gavin is the Coding third of the Apple triumvirate and is best friends with Wozniak, the engineering third but Apple isn't actually a Part of Lucasfilm and Jobs often gets his way.
One day, he is going to push his luck too far.

You politely thanked Carrie and asked if she had a bit of time and was willing to help break down for Eric what exactly he did wrong. She thankfully agreed.
Reward. Eric does not get a job. A bit of fast talking ensures you still have one too. Eric now knows EXACTY what he did wrong. He might even thank you for it someday. Eric more likely to look further afield for jobs.

price point about matches. Blank disks are about $ 1.50 each at the time while VCR cassets are still costing about $100 each.
Armour up the disk Floppy disk or RCA CED Videodisc style Slap some artwork on it and it still shouldn't cost more than 3 dollars a unit to produce.
With Gavins coding. size and quality wont be an issues and movies could be sold for as little as $30 a pop.
What would you buy? Players cost the same amount but the Apple is expandable and can play VCR tapes too.
Movies one VCR tape or three Emeralds and still have enough left for Pizza and drinks while you watch?
