Lights... Camera... ACTION!!: A Hollywood Quest

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT
Hi Magoose here one of the guys helping Duke.

So we have some bad news.

The quest has been canceled as duke does not want to write it anymore.

I'm going to ask if I can take over for it, because I like this quest, and it would be a shame to kill it
TBF, Mags, you have been doing a lot of the heavylifting for the quest, so this will be in good hands. :)

To be clear to everyone, this is just me burning out on imagination of the quest, since my muse has been hitting me over the head a lot with so many different ideas that I just can't find myself too interested in this.

I'll still hang out here, though, since this still does have a sepcial place in my heart.

I'd like to thank you all for making this a wonderful experience while it lasted.

I'd also like to thank @Magoose, @Fluffy_serpent, and @Martin Noctis for doing so much to help prepare and write this quest. I couldn't have done it without you all. :D

I'll see you all around.

With so many regards, Duke William Of.

If you don't go with your other half to a family burger joint where all the staff knows you and they have a running bet on when you will kiss

Then you my friend, have never had that happen. :V

[X] Plan Friendship and Apartments.
-[X]The Company Clerk of Larry Linville: The Veteran TV Actor is someone you know precious little about. He thinks that the dimensions of the character he played fit well into a comedy. Maybe a pep talk might work? DC: 10
-[x]The Best of Times, and the Swift of Times: Loretta is one of the people who just work with you, and you were quiet and happy that she was not joining the others in hazing you on set. In fact, she was clearly distressed at some of the signs that others were taking things too far. Especially to a young man. DC: 20
-[x]Work on your Comedy: This, looking at the first draft of the scripts, is a comedy series. And while you are a good actor, you know you are not good at comedy, even if your timing has gotten better. DC: 20
-[X]Johns TV Troubles: You see some of Johns's roles and realize that Brooks was involved. Seemed he had friends as well. Or maybe he saw your success and sought to take a risk on unproven talent. DC: 10
-[x]Helping Around the Building: You are going to make this apartment building the envy of LA. DC: 25/45/65/90
-[X] Learn to play an instrument: You want to learn how to play something DC: 80 (You have no idea what the hell you are doing.)
Are we still voting?

Hmm..

Additionally, sponsors can also give the winner products, vacation trips, etc. if they would like to. Every episode is aimed to be different to disrupt any form of strategy, so one episode would be based on WW1, the next would be based on being Actors of Hollywood.

Expanded: The 2nd and 3rd last standing players receives a..try again coupon, and the sponsor items and benefits stuff if the sponsors allows it.

Tv Pitches: My Sweet and Mother of Four
Prompt Name: My Sweet
Genre: Sitcom
Sub-Genre: Romantic-Comedy
Format: TV Show
General Idea: George Candy runs a small but successful chain of candy stores, where all the employees are female. George is thinking about settling down finally, and has decided to find his bride to be from amongst his sweeties.

(Yeah I know how problematic this whole premise is but it also sounds like it'd be something that showed up in the 70's)

Prompt Name: Mother of Four
Genre: Sitcom
Sub-Genre: Slice of Life
Format: TV Show
General Idea: Gladyss is a woman who provides living quarters to college students off-campus, and has been doing so for decades. Her three latest tenants are a young man looking to make it big as a basketball star, a trust fund kid who doesn't seem to know what he wants to do with his life, and a immigrant worried about his family overseas. It's up to Gladyss to help these young men navigate the tough reality of life.

Shit, I was joking, but...

Do You think that I should do a double update tomorrow?

Or failing that: Should I do an omake involving the family?
I'd love to see a double update if you were able but either works and I really like seeing the fluffy stuff. More importantly, don't go overworking yourself.

A Magoose Interlude (He is Cath's hubby in-quest) where he tries to find the reason why Cu Chullain became Borat in this simulation.
I need this in my life. Nuff said 😤

And Then There is Failure Turn 19 Results (January- Febuary 1973)
-[X]The Company Clerk of Larry Linville: The Veteran TV Actor is someone you know precious little about. He thinks that the dimensions of the character he played fit well into a comedy. Maybe a pep talk might work? DC: 10 Rolled:D100 => 16

Larry was reading one of the new drafts of the next script when he smiled. "Hey Bruce, how's it going?"

"Just wanted to talk, really nothing else." You stated as you took a breath and felt a feeling of unease. "Why did you come back?"

"Hm?" He asked. "Come back?"

"Why did you come back to the show after so much shit that happened." You stated.

Larry smiled. "Don't really rightfully know why, besides the fact that I could possibly retire with all the money you won for us. Maybe it's just because I found a challenge." There was a small laugh. "And frankly, I think that Frank Burns has the possibility to become an Incredible character. If given the chance."

There was a pause. "And I just think I can leave this show, head held high, and get a better role."

"But you'll always give it your best?" You asked.

"Of course, when I can." He stated.

Reward:

+10 to Chemistry with Linville. His SP increased by +10.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

-[x]The Best of Times, and the Swift of Times: Loretta is one of the people who just work with you, and you were quiet and happy that she was not joining the others in hazing you on set. In fact, she was clearly distressed at some of the signs that others were taking things too far. Especially to a young man. DC: 20 Rolled:D100 => 61
-[x]Work on your Comedy: This, looking at the first draft of the scripts, is a comedy series. And while you are a good actor, you know you are not good at comedy, even if your timing has gotten better. DC: 20 Rolled:D100 => 49

All there was, was smiling, as she ruffled your hair as you took a breath having fallen asleep from a long week. "So… How's it going?" She asked.

"Feel crappy." You stated. "I can't get this as a good thing." There was silence as you pointed to the script. "How the hell am I able to make this funny?"

She looked at the script and then realized what was going on. "Ah, I see. Do you think it will come off as deadpan, or super serious?"

"Yes." You replied.

"Then use it to your advantage." She stated. "You've played Radar as a young man who is always hungry for knowledge, and very physically fit, active, driven, and eager. Use that. You don't seem to realize what you have, you just think that the script is going to fall into place and make it funny, but that relies on experience. And you have that. So lean into it a little bit."

"I'll try." You said, feeling a little more inflated.

You knew it was going to be amazing.

Reward: +5 to SP. +10 to chemistry rolls with Loretta.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

-[X]Johns TV Troubles: You see some of Johns's roles and realize that Brooks was involved. Seemed he had friends as well. Or maybe he saw your success and sought to take a risk on unproven talent. DC: 10 Rolled:D100 => 28

John was smiling with a script in hand as you saw him. "What is my apartment, a Hotel?" You said as he shut the door. His smile was infectious. "Okay, whats the script?"

"Some small part." John said.

"Hey now, no small parts, just small actors." You replied as you looked at the script. "How did you get it?"

"Interviewed for it, a producer really liked my audition." He stated with a smile as he set it down. "Said that… I reminded him of another kid that strode into town looking for work."

That made you realize who it was. "Brooks?" You asked.

"Yep, that was his name. Told him I wasn't big on insane stunt work or anything like that, but I worked hard, and knocked their socks off, and really like that."

"He also said that he was rooting for ya, and for me. Not enough talent in Hollywood that actually wants to hone their craft like we do, as he said." He took a breath, and he then offered the script. "Wanna see it?"

"Nah, I'll see it on TV." You smiled.

Reward: John got a really good part, thanks to Brooks. Seems that he has a great eye for Talent, and wishes to cultivate it as well as he can.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

-[x]Helping Around the Building: You are going to make this apartment building the envy of LA. DC: 25/45/65/90 Rolled:D100 => 7

Much as you want to help around the building, you were not really able too…

Duty calls for your true passion and such.

Failure.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

-[X] Learn to play an instrument: You want to learn how to play something DC: 80 (You have no idea what the hell you are doing.) Rolled:D100 => 1

Fuck Trying to learn anything involving music. You might be a genius but you do not know how to read music!

Critical Failure!

Can not learn how to use an instrument for the next year.
