Lights... Camera... ACTION!!: A Hollywood Quest

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT
Hi Magoose here one of the guys helping Duke.

So we have some bad news.

The quest has been canceled as duke does not want to write it anymore.

I'm going to ask if I can take over for it, because I like this quest, and it would be a shame to kill it
TBF, Mags, you have been doing a lot of the heavylifting for the quest, so this will be in good hands. :)

To be clear to everyone, this is just me burning out on imagination of the quest, since my muse has been hitting me over the head a lot with so many different ideas that I just can't find myself too interested in this.

I'll still hang out here, though, since this still does have a sepcial place in my heart.

I'd like to thank you all for making this a wonderful experience while it lasted.

I'd also like to thank @Magoose, @Fluffy_serpent, and @Martin Noctis for doing so much to help prepare and write this quest. I couldn't have done it without you all. :D

I'll see you all around.

With so many regards, Duke William Of.

I got another Tactic we can pull off..

How about we recreate that Mr. Beast "Olympics" Video..but on National Television and we invite people across the world?

Is it wrong that I'm sitting here and thinking, how can things get any weirder.

Getting weirder:
D100 => 88

It can get weirder.

Roy, Alan and Mike just broke bread.

...The fuck?

No, seriously, what the fuck?!

Alan I can see, we are working together now after all, and MIke is always looking for more opportunities to build bridges in the community once more for Lucasfilms (despite all our success we are still the scrappy underdog in comparison with the more established studios).

But Roy actually broke bread with Mike?! He does know we are fighting for their titles as "King of Animation" doesn't he? And that we're nearly done with our first feature film, which I'm sure is going to be felt as a slap in the face considering that we've taken a concept that they've held in their vaults since the time of Walt himself.

The Three Pillars of the Bronze Age rise.
Wouldn't it be George Bruce and Mike…

Oh wait you mean in Hollywood.
...The fuck?

No, seriously, what the fuck?!

Well let's just say that ILM is to valuable a piece in Hollywood to just ignore Esspecially when Disney is working a lot with live action in the future.

Roy may not like it, but he is running a buissness.

...Yeah, that would do it. ILM has become our ticket into the exclusive club, and Mike is using it for all it's worth.

Odd how the entire board has not only been flipped, but chopped up, burnt and then recycled into making some tasteful decorative barnish for a well placed worktable. We have Warner dead, Universal supremacy, a loose "coalition" against it that spends more time fighting each other than Universal, Lucasfilms as the up and coming new studio, United Artists being bought by Sony, and Columbia gambling its entire future on a couple of superhero films in the 70s

Frankly, I don't think there was a need for more weirdness, but I was clearly wrong because it just keeps getting better and better!

Well for one ILM is kind of the sole reason that Black Hole made a profit in the first place with special effects, so Roy knows he can build something good with Lucasfilms and they'll keep true to their word and not stab him and the company in the back. I can definitely see Ron Miller or Card Walker being the driving forces behind this because Disney has absolute shit live action infrastructure while Lucasfilms is the Kings of live fantasy so they need their help.

There's also the probable fact that Bruce reminds Roy so much of his Dad and Uncle Walt, especially Walt. If Bruce was just another bastard in a suit it'd be one thing, but Bruce is a dreamer who wants to make great work of art and does he can with his money and fame to spread good works around to help those in need. Roy is someone who does believe in the Disney dream as he grew up on those ideals with the family so Lucasfilms despite all of their chaos do represent what Disney has always tried to be as a company.

As for animation, while we are clear competitors, so far Roy has no idea just how powerful Dreamworks is with our only work being a PBS cartoon. We can carve out our own niches in animation and specialize in different types of stories instead of directly competing like OTL Disney and Dreamworks, and after the huge success of War of the Worlds there's not really any fear or panic from Disney because even if Hiawatha is pretty damn good, they still made history with War of the Worlds and can make just as good if not better. So more of a friendly rivalry here.

@Magoose How's Paramount doing with Star Trek and their new TV channel? I hope we get a ILM contract with them because OTL ILM did all the Star Trek films aside from a couple along with The Next Generation.

...Honestly, at this point, I can't help but wonder if something might be able to happen dragging the video game field into this glorious mess. Cause well, I could see a very successful tie in between video game and movie potentially completely changing the relationship between video games and movies, what with the sheer chaos and tight competition going on right now. I mean, one idea which might have potential is doing a paired project of video game and movie with the idea that the popularity would feed off each other if done sufficiently well.

More American Movie Pitches.
Movie Series Pitch:
Sergeant John Brown

Genre: Historical/Action
Subgenre: War/Ideals
Format: Movie Series

Synopsis: John Brown's death in Virginia marked a shift in everything the American North and South were used to. Whilst many in the North disagreed on his methods of aggressive action to end slavery..this view was changed upon a single event – Join Sergeant John Brown and his battalion of troops as they embark in the bloodiest battles ever fought on American Soil..The American Civil War

Description: Each Episode centers around Battles with a Historical Accurate focus of the commanders, actions, and other events that were done in the American Civil War.) | Character Development is welcomed.

Director: (Up to the Questers)
Composer: (Up to the Questers)

Main Character:

Sergeant John Brown – He is the focus point of the series, where he is based on the real Sgt. John Brown that fought in the Civil War (and had a song based on him and his more famous "John Brown" named John Brown's Body. He is quite serious at his job, yet is conscious about the people around him and makes sure they are feeling well. He wonders about why the need of sudden action of war in solving the "simple" manner of Slavery..this is the focal point of his Hero's Journey (The Want of the Answer, to Need to save those that were abused.)

Side Characters (More can be added):

Michael August – One of the soldiers serving under John Brown as part of his battalion. He comes from a well-off family that opposed John Brown's actions at first before being absolute believers as civility broke down on the "Slavery" Question. Michael believes in moral justice with those he deems are civil people.

Joshua Peine – One of the soldiers serving under John Brown as part of his battalion. He comes from a peasantry family that hosted escaped slaves..in fact he actually fell in love with one of them. He decides to join the Union Army with the determination to free the slaves with a religious flavour to it.

Emmaline Vallance – A woman (Yes, this isn't about representation as it actually happened in the Original American Civil War..on both sides nonetheless) that is serving as a soldier under John Brown as part of his battalion. She comes from a family that is both traditional and yet non-traditional, as many members of that household have different views. She believes in the religious sense of the war being one of Liberation set forth by God (Seeing John Brown as some sort of messenger and activist to do it on his own.)

Movie Series Pitch:
Over the Hills and Far Away

Genre: Action/Historical
Subgenre: Napoleonic Wars
Format: Movie Series

Director: (Up to the Questers)
Composer: (Up to the Questers)

Synopsis: The Napoleonic Wars shaped the entire world, where at first it was a war on ideals of Idealised Republicanism vs Monarchism transformed into an entire set of War of Coalitions against Napoleon Bonaparte – Join Robert Macara as he and the 42nd Regiment of Foot (Scottish Highlander Regiment) as they find themselves amidst in the conflict against the French Forces of Bonaparte.

Description: A Movie Series wherein which stars Robert Macara of the 42nd Regiment of Foot as he and his units fought in the Napoleonic Wars. | Character Development Welcomed!

Main Character:

Robert Macara – A man who bought Captaincy of The 42nd Regiment of Foot a year after their defeat of the French Army in the Battle of Alexandria. He was there for the prestige and thus didn't see battle (he was even promoted a few times) before being sent from Ireland to take part in the Peninsula Campaign in 1812 (he was unhappy he is being sent there as he was in the post for the prestige..not to mention hearing of the gruesome fighting during The Battle of Corunna..). He later redeems himself after a Character Development in which he strives to be better for his troops and makes sure many of them manage to come home.

Unfortunately, during The Battle of Quatre Bras, he was captured by French forces in which he was shot dead on the spot after recognising him as a British Army Officer.

Side Characters: (More to Be Added via Quester Add-ons)

Extra Details: At the last episode..after Macara's death was announced to his Regiment..it becomes an emotional drain as the people that grew up to see Macara's unwavering support to his Regiment and trying to make sure many of them come back home..just became in denial of his disappearance..

A Military Funeral Procession of the 42nd Regiment on Foot..with many of their dead in their coffins alongside Macara's..(Over The Hills and Far Away plays alongside its lyrics)..

The Screen then in its finale begins displaying the words: "Two Days Later, The 42nd Regiment of Foot participates in the Battle of Waterloo..without their brevet lieutenant-colonel." (The Song continues even through this scene.)

N/A: I can't help but propose these two ideas..and I didn't want to double post for this one..these are my counters against Napoleon-styled ones before switching towards something else.

TV Pitch: Luke Cage
The Luke Cage's series was, in my opinion, a good series. There were serious mistakes there (like killing Cottonmouth and replacing him with Diamondback) and making it a bit too long, but overall, it was alright. With some small changes in can be easily adapted to the period between the late 70s and early 80s, especially with how Harlem should be at the moment.

To be honest, I liked better the Luke Cage I saw in the comics, when he was a bit more bombastic and wilder, yet at the same time I can see that at this moment we need to show a bit more grounded adaptation, one where we can show this is not just for kids, that it has good messages, and that we can keep the core of what makes Luke Cage so awesome without changing the entire thing beyond recognition. A tall order, but one I'm sure we can accomplish.

So, I give you:

TV Pitch:
Luke Cage

GENRE: Action/Crime/Drama

SUBGENRE: Superhero Fiction/Adventure

FORMAT: TV Show (1 Season)

Set Up: Based on the Marvel Comics character created by Archie Goodwin, George Tuska, Roy Thomas, and John Romita Sr. The series follows Luke Cage, formerly Carl Lucas, an Ex-Con who gained superpowers through experiments realized when in prison. Now trying to lay low and live his life, he finds himself getting involved as he sees the damage and danger his neighborhood is in from the depredations of gangs and criminals, who are under the control Cornell "Cottonmouth" Stokes, the owner of an exclusive nightclub, and dealer of illegal substances, as well as Councilwoman Mariah Dillard, his cousin.

Showrunner: Aaron Spelling
Composer: Tom Scott

Season Length: 10 Episodes.
Episode Length: 55 Minutes.

Luke Cage is an ex-con, who now works at the barbershop of Henry "Pop" Hunter, a previous mobster who has now reformed and is trying to aid the community in any small way he can. Pop is a well-respected member of Harlem, with even gangsters not causing problems in his barbershop, and he tries to impart to Luke Cage about how he can change, how he can grow and be better, even when all Luke Cage wants to do is lay low and try to keep his head down. On his way back from work one night he sees a couple of gangsters attacking some young teens, and while he tries to ignore it, eventually his conscience and remembrance of his past has him turn and fight, revealing his powers and saving the kids.

After that, Luke Cage begins his campaign as a Community Hero to help Harlem during the time he's away from work, gaining the attention of both Cornell "Cottonmouth" Stokes and Mariah Dillard-Stokes, who basically control the crime and law of Harlem as they try to advance their careers at the expense of the community, while paradoxically also trying to make it right. Luke Cage's attacks have a subordinate of Cornell kill Pop, causing Luke Cage to reveal himself to all and declaring he will stop him, gaining him great support in the community. Cornell plans to have him incriminated by his men in the precinct, specifically Lieutenant Rafael Scarfe, but is stymied due to the actions of his partner; Detective Mercedes "Misty" Knight, who soon forms a professional (and later romantic) relationship with Luke Cage.

Through the confrontations we also learn both Luke Cage's and Stoke's past; how the former had a wife who died and he was framed for the crime, sent to prision where he was forced to participate in fights by the warden and be used for experiments which grnated him his powers, which he used to escape. The latter recalls his time as the child of "Mama" Mabel, the leader of the Stokes crime family, how he never wanted anything to do with it, only wanting to be a musician, with only his uncle Pete believing in him. The same uncle he was forced to kill under Mabel's orders, crushing his dreams and keeping him in the family forever.

Cornell is successful in framing Luke Cage who has to go on the run, Scarfe, having grown greedy and arrogant, tries to blackmail Stokes, which ends up backfiring on him as he's nearly killed. Misty Knight tries to get him to the precinct to confess before he dies but fails, eventually investigating and finding proof Scarfe had collected for his blackmail. Luke Cage is captured by Stokes in a trap where he's put in a container where acid drips on him, which can actually harm him. He manages to escape by pushing his body to the limits, but is still hurt and weak. He finds Stokes just as he's about to escape, having heard they found the evidence to convict him, and fights him. Both sides are nearly matched now that Luke Cage is weakened and hurt, but he eventually prevails, just as the Police arrives.

Cornell is arrested and taken to prison, Councilwoman Dillard however remains, taking many of his men as her henchmen, and killing any and all who would try to reveal she was a part of Stokes own criminal enterprises. Luke Cage is taken to prison as well, but he has good chances of being set free thanks to evidence being found that he'd been framed for the crime, as well as the unethical experiments. Near the end, Luke Cage is brought to a room to meet his lawyer: Matt Murdock
Luke Cage: Former convict Carl Lucas who was given superhuman strength and unbreakable skin in a secret experiment when he was in prison, and now fights crime under the name Luke Cage. He uses his signature catch phrase 'Sweet Christmas' from the comics, but sparingly, with the character often opting instead for pensive silence. He's not bombastic, but more soulful and intelligent. Though he prefers no conflict, he does not shy away from it, with his anger and simmering passion sometimes being a weakness of him.

Played By: Michael Clarke Duncan
Alternate: Jim Brown

Mercedes "Misty" Knight: Harlem NYPD Detective with a strong sense of justice and determination to match. She seeks to learn more about Luke Cage when he stumbles into her investigation into Cornell. She's not the sidekick but a person who has a very strong moral compass and is absolutely dedicated to protecting her community. She believes in the system, even though it's difficult to believe in it at the moment. She also has good detective and investigation skills that allow her to look at a crime scene and deduce what happened.

Played By: Pam Grier
Alternate: Tina Andrews

Henry "Pop" Hunter: He was a gang member affiliated with the Stokes Crime Family during his youth, working under Cornell Stokes' mother. He eventually chose to abandon his criminal lifestyle and opened a barbershop, becoming a respected figure in Harlem, even with Stokes who considered him a friend. Pop employed Luke Cage and tried to convince him to use his gifts to help people. His belief in moving forward and becoming a better person inspires him to become the hero the community needs.

Played By: Danny Glover
Alternate: Charles S. Dutton

Lt. Rafael "Rafe" Scarfe: He is a hard-nosed police detective at the NYPD's 29th Precinct and partner of Misty Knight who is on Stokes' payroll. He delays, sabotages, and impedes the investigation as ordered, though he is eventually double-crossed and shot by Stokes, dying in Misty's arms as he's being brought to the Precinct to confess and try to bring Stokes down with him. It is later revealed that he had a hand in the release of over 30 criminals.

Played By: Jay Hammer
Alternate: Gary Sandy

Cornell "Cottonmouth" Stokes: The owner of the Harlem's Paradise nightclub and the cousin of Mariah Dillard who deals in illegal operations. He's a Godfather-type villain, and complicated in his own way. As a child he wanted nothing to do with crime, but being the son of the infamous Stokes family pushed him into it, with only his uncle being supportive of his musical endeavors. He's now in too deep, with a confident, soft spoken and cynical attitude, it is not completely sure if he's trying to help Harlem or just himself.

Played By: Eddie Murphy
Alternate: Richard Roundtree

Mariah Stokes-Dillard: A local councilwoman, and Stokes' cousin, looking to bring change to Harlem, whose life is "thrown into turmoil" by the actions of Cage and Stokes. Though Dillard is not necessarily a criminal herself, she is corrupt and works with Stokes in order to fund her campaign while keeping her hands clean. Like her comics counterpart she has the nickname "Black Mariah", but is only used by Stokes as a personal insult from their past growing up together.

Played By: Roxie Roker
Alternate: Berlinda Tolbert
Hernan "Shades" Alvarez: He is a relentless, menacing, smooth and manipulative, street smart criminal working for Stokes with ties to Cage's past when both he and Darius framed him for a crime they committed. He's the ultimate opportunist, the one guy that would not hesitate on betraying his brother if it came down to it.

Played By: Erik Estrada
Alternate: Michael Dorn

Darius "Comanche" Jones: He is a street criminal who worked with Shades as his muscle due to not being very smart. He served as Stokes informant while posing as one of Mariah's henchmen, reporting all information for the moment she tried to hung him out to dry. He brings the attention of Luke Cage when caught in the scene of a meeting between both Mariah and Stokes.

Played By: Kevin Hooks
Alternate: Byron Stewart

George Goodwin: He's an energetic and eccentric news reporter whose first coverage of Luke Cage made him a community hero, as well as skyrocketing his career. A bit obsessed with headlines and "newsworthy stories", he does have a heart inside of him, willing to shelter a kid from the vengeance of Stokes, and risking his life to help exonerate Luke Cage from charges.

Played By: Mike Evans
Alternate: Ernest Lee Thomas

Marcus Ridley: He's an inspector in the NYPD's 29th Precinct who Misty Knight answers to. A cop trying to do his job and keeping the peace, the constant weariness and crime puts him in a difficult position where he has to make sure his cops are not ignoring the crimes, while also fighting a hidden war in his own precinct against the ones who are now in the pockets of said criminals.

Played By: Ron Glass
Alternate: Tim Reid

Alex Wesley: He's the loyal assistant of Mariah Dillard. Well aware of her boss' past history, Alex knows how to spin the story to get the perfect look in Mariah's political challenges. A man with hardly any scruples so long as it benefits him or his superior, he makes sure to tarnish as much of Luke Cage's reputation in order to get him arrested as soon as possible.

Played By: Philip Michael Thomas
Alternate: Demond Wilson
Turk Barrett: Small time crook who sells guns to criminals, and has the worst luck as he's always stopped by Luke Cage or Misty Knight.

Played By: Richard Pryor

Domingo Colon: He is a gang leader from Harlem and business partner of Stokes and Dillard.

Played By: Lou Ferrigno

Tone: He's the trusted Lieutenant of Stokes, and was killed by him for murdering Pop.

Played By: Denzel Washington

Mark Bailey: He's an NYPD officer at the NYPD's 29th Precinct focused on analytics. He becomes a partner and friend of Knight's.

Played By: Roger Davies

Candace Miller: She's a hostess at Harlem's Paradise who is paid by Mariah to falsely accuse Luke Cage of the attempted murder of Stokes.

Played By: Anne-Marie Johnson

A.N.: Harlem in the 80s, from what I've read, was a hellhole to live in; the place where everyone residing there was either a criminal or terrified of the criminals. Luke Cage, as was written in OTL, oddly enough seems to fit, if you remove the scenes where Mariah Dillard is actually trying to take back Harlem or even posing with a happy community. This show would be a darker interpretation, not to mention that having Stokes be the sort of "Hero of his own Story" would fit so much better in my opinion. He's trying to help in the only way he knows how, not realizing, or perhaps no longer caring, that such methods will never work.

Movie Pitch:
Hercules
Now I'm not going to give a usual reward, as SP is valuble. +15 to SP.

But there is a situation where the film quality will also increase... immensely.
I would think George would remind him of Walt a bit more than us, no? Or perhaps both George and us are Walt and Mike is our Roy O. Disney, running the actual business so that we can run off and play with the toys.
One thing to say:

George is the Artist, the Creator of Walt.

Bruce is the cut throat, a bloodthirsty businessman who fucked over unions and corpos alike and made Disney one of the most powerful companies in Hollywood. The Buissnessman of Walt.
I love it.
Movie Series Pitch:
Sergeant John Brown
Oh boy. +15 to SP. because there is nothing else we can give.
Movie Series Pitch:
Over the Hills and Far Away
+15 to SP.

Though there may be more.
As we do not own or create marvel comics... we're going to be stuck with SP. +15 to SP.

But know that there will be a Luke cage comic, both in noir, and in 616. And it will se some popularity.
@Magoose How's Paramount doing with Star Trek and their new TV channel? I hope we get a ILM contract with them because OTL ILM did all the Star Trek films aside from a couple along with The Next Generation.
They are doing well. while they are not in the top 3, they are number 4... which is really good.

And ILM is making us so much money due to just... doing everything.

The answer is yes.

We have a Few Moments alone. Turn 59 (July 1978)

You were taking some time to relax as you felt a great deal of stress go off your body, as you took a moment to rest by your pool. "You know, we're going to need to make sure Mary doesn't fall in." You said.

"We'll, work on that," Carrie said as she started to trace her fingers around your chest. "Robin is with her right now… though I'm still wondering what he's going to do right now."

"Robin got a gig on TV, and he's happy with continuing to do more stand-up around the world. He'll be fine." You smiled. You saw Carrie look at your eyes before averting her gaze for a moment. "What's wrong?"

Carrie gave a chuckle. "Wrong, I have the greatest thing I could possibly have. I have a husband who loves me with all his heart, a daughter I cherish every moment I see her, being rich, and famous, and am finally able to sleep soundly at night after so many reporters trying to break in." Then she stopped.

It was like the days when she felt bad… those very brief and sparse days now when you knew she was not feeling well, and needed you more than others. "What are we going to do?"

"What do you mean?" You asked.

"I mean, what's there to really strive for in our careers? I reached the mountain top before I married you." She just looked at the pool and then at you. "I don't know why I'm thinking of this."

"Think we'll get bored of it all, become eccentric millionaires who are coasting off of past glories and not evolving with the ever-changing times?" You asked. "Become poor role models not only to our kids but to our past selves?"

Carrie then burst out laughing, and you both laughed at the thought of you becoming worse than what your worst nightmares could be. Her hand lased with your own. "We'll still find things to keep ourselves busy."

Carrie then pressed herself on you, before rolling on top of you and kissing you.

And like every kiss you both had, it was electric and beautiful, and you both savored every moment. "I like this." You whispered as she pulled back.

"Maybe we'll do it later in bed." She whispered as she traced your muscles. "I know I enjoy it."

Then there was a cry from the house and both of you sat up in alarm before you saw Robin scream. "We're out of diapers!"

You traded a glance to Carrie. "Did you-"

"Leave them at my mom's house!" She said as she began to run towards Debbie's yard.

Another boring day in the life of the O'Brians.
