Non-canon omake: Deal with the Devil Part 2
Deal with the Devil Pt. 2

Lex Luthor sits in his situation room, surrounded by his most trusted magic advisors: Rebecca and Cerise. Both women are clearly and visibly worried, but Lex is as cool and collected as always. On a floating...hologram? Screen? Next to them is Raven, being shown around Lexcorp by Cassandra and Jinx.

"Is it wise, to leave her with them? Unsupervised?" Asks Rebecca, a bit worried for the young girl she's grown to love as a little sister. Lex doesn't share her feelings, waving her off.

"They'll be fine. Jinx is well-trained and almost as powerful as the girl, and Cassandra has been trained by the best. Before the girl could even think to harm them, by accident or not, Cassandra will have neutralized her." Lex assures her. Rebecca nods, knowing that he's not wrong, but still... "Besides, they're not unsupervised, we are looking at them right now."

"Yes, with no way to reach them quickly, should something happen." Cerise corrects him. Lex raises an eyebrow.

"Is there something wrong with our wards Cerise?" She shakes her head.

"No, but--"

"Exactly. They'll be fine." Lex states, and that's the end of that conversation. The room is covered in a silence as Raven, Cassandra, and Jinx, continue playing on the screen. Cassandra is the nice and excited new friend, while Jinx is as derisive and snarky as she always is, making everything a competition and being outright mean. Luckily, Raven takes no offense, just happy to be there. To be safe. The silence remains for a decent while, until it's broken by the Lexcorp leader.

"So, Trigon. Tell me what you know." Lex commands. The two magic women glance at each other briefly before turning to their employer and trusted confidant. Rebecca feels nauseous and it shows, and Cerise is uneasy at even discussing this topic but...

"He is a monster. A demon. Primordial in nature. Some say he...he devours the souls of entire worlds." Rebecca shakily gets out. Cerise tuts and shakes her head.

"Universes." She corrects, causing both Lex and Rebecca to look at her in shock, Rebecca outright panicking internally.

"What?" Rebecca can't help but to ask for clarification. Worlds, planets was terrifying enough but Universes...

"Trigon the Terrible, unmatched in power by almost all who exist. Some say that the strongest of gods make deals with him. He conquered his own universe at an early age, and has since moved on to others, devouring all who exist." Cerise closes her eyes and exhales. "Lex, if I may, his power is enormous, far beyond Ms. Prince or Superman--" Lex glowers at the name. "-and I must strongly advise, with all of my wisdom, power, and good will with you, that you abandon this suicide mission."

"Vetoed." Lex replies calmly, causing Cerise to almost double take.

"Lex, Trigon is..." She's cut off by Lex raising a hand.

"I get it, you've told me what you know and given me advice. He's powerful and fearsome...so is Lex Luthor."

"Lex, you can't compare--"

"I can and I have." He cuts her off again, staring her down, daring her to challenge him further. Cerise to her credit doesn't back down, but she does stop for the moment to think of a different approach. "That said, I do need your help. I need you to arrange a meeting with this Trigon." Lex relays to them. This time even Rebecca speaks up.

"Lex you can't! He'll--"

"This is insane! Why would you ever want to--"

"Ladies. I agreed to take Raven in, did I not? And as such, I am responsible for her and her well-being." Both women nod, understanding that much.

"Yes but what does that have to do with Trigon?" Asks Rebecca, genuinely confused.

"He is her father...by birth, and he and I have much to discuss."

"What could you possibly have to discuss with--" Cerise begins a tirade of sorts, as she desperately tries to talk Lex out of this foolish action.

"I have some ground rules to set, that even he has to abide by."

"Lex, you want to tell an interdimensional, soul-devouring demon what he can and cannot do?" Rebecca questions, completely shocked by his audacity.

"Precisely." SMACK. Cerise slaps her own forehead as hard as she can. How did she get into this situation. He was going to kill them all.

"What is wrong with you?" She mutters through her palm. Lex looks at her and calmly recites the fateful words.

"What are the three main rules of Lexcorp?" He inquires, still surprisingly calm.

"What?" Both woman respond, not expecting that response.

"Three. Main. Rules." Cerise sighs.

"Never doubt Lex Luthor. He knows what he's doing." Lex nods in confirmation, folding his hands.

"And?"

"Never worry about Lex Luthor. He doesn't need the help and he has the situation under control."

"Right, and finally?"

"There is no one power or authority above Lex Luthor or Lexcorp. If they seem to be it is only because they have not yet encountered him or us." Cerise conveys her annoyance with a roll of her eyes. Those rules were ridiculous when she first heard them, and they're ridiculous now.

"Excellent. So you see, we have nothing to worry about. Just follow those rules and...place the wards, and everything will go as planned." This causes both of their heads to perk up. Good, he's using precaution, contingencies. They never doubted him for a second.

"Wards? Which...which ones?" Rebecca can't help but to question, wondering what could be effective against an enemy of this magnitude.

"The Anti-Demon Wards of course. And Anti-Magic, Anti-Hellfire, and Anti-Soul to be sure. Hmm...maybe Anti-Mind Control, Anti-Reality Manipulation, Anti--" Cerise begins to answer, citing what she can think of that may aid her employer in this situation.

"All of them." Lex answers clearly. Rebecca and Cerise do a double take.

"What?"

"I didn't stutter. Place them all on me, and as many times as you can. I will not go into this defenseless or blind." Lex commands, exhibiting the planning and strategic mind he's always shown. This was more familiar territory for the women. The Lex they knew. Still, placing all of those wards on him, was a daunting task. Rebecca has to follow down her feelings of trepidation.

"Alright."

"Very well then."

There's some more silence as the two magic women begin thinking about the flaws of the plans, on how to bolster the defenses to hold against such a monster. Plus there's...

"How do you propose we even get to him?" Cerise questions, curious.

"Trigon?" Through Raven of course. She said it herself, she's his portal, she's connected to him. We use that, and let this demon know exactly who we are and why not to mess with us." Lex explains as if it's obvious. This sets off every alarm bell in Cerise's head. Did he hope to doom them all?

"That's incredibly dangerous! If we fail he could..." Lex stops her with a raise of his hand.

"That's a risk I'm willing to take."

"But sir, it's not just--" This time Rebecca tries to speak to his reason.

"I know. I have complete faith in your abilities. If I didn't, you wouldn't be here." His tone darkens at the end of his statement. Rebecca smiles in understanding and Cerise stiffens at the implication.

"Now, let's let Raven know the good news..."

Hm. If Cerise is a homunculus of Circe (possible), then that might be the 'real' mythological Circe trying to take advantage of a strong connection between herself and the homunculus to monitor how Cerise is doing.

I'm heavily sleep deprived right now, and probably missing something obvious, but I seem to recall that there is a DC villainess spellcaster who is more or less possessed. Enchantress, I think?

Finally got around to reading this. I enjoyed it even if it's pretty obviously non-canon. Rebecca and Cerise's voices are a little off but considering it's non-canon that's fine. Likewise the "rules of LexCorp" read a little culty to me but it's fine for a non-canon omake.

I think it's a solid buildup to a big moment. My one critique is that there is little distinction between Cerise and Rebecca in terms of character (who says what line barely matters and the two come off as more or less being the same character) which is a bit unfortunate. I do think that part of this is because I haven't really written from their perspective or given them dialogue all that much and they share a role here (advising on magic) so naturally they came out fairly similar.

I still enjoyed it and I think the characters you have more of an established background with you differentiate better (Jinx, Cassandra and Raven all feel distinct from one another). I look forward to seeing how you improve as a writer and where you continue to go with this series of Omakes.

You've earned 400 exp

You are correct although there is a bit of wiggle room on just how possessed Enchantress is at any given moment (she's had moments where she both has powers and is not possessed).

Thanks. I tried to make Cerise more...experienced and like derisive and Rebecca out of her depth but it didn't come across clearly. Something for me to work on.

As I understand it, Enchantress is an extremely powerful sorceress-spirit possessing a human host. This would be a little different. Homunculi are autonomous beings- a whole new person. One big reason I've lowered my estimate of the likelihood of Cerise being Circe or Circe-affiliated is that Cerise is likely to be a homunculus, and Circe wouldn't create a homunculus modeled after herself without a very good reason, and Cerise isn't really... doing anything... to make such an investment on her part worthwhile as far as I can tell.

On the other hand, most of the weirdness involving Cerise's biology could be explained in other ways. Her weirdly incorruptible DNA and so on might ALSO be properties of supernatural creatures such as Greek gods and demigods... and the mythological Circe is purported to be the daughter of the god Helios and either the goddess Hecate or a nymph. Not entirely human, and not truly human at all by some standards.

Since we don't actually know anything about homunculi, we can't really devise a test to settle the matter one way or the other.

Non-Canon omake: LexCorp Security Versus Superman
Been working on this a while. This was pretty much my experiment in writing fight scenes with powers. I hope it came out well and people enjoy it. Some things I want to note is that with the exception of Tar Pit everyone who Superman could hit would go down in one hit, the reason why Lois lasted as long as she did against Leonard was that he refused to hit her and shot to try and incapacitate after he failed to reason with her and Superman was sandbagging up until the point where Tar Pit was dropped directly onto him at which point he was pretty much fighting injured. Let me know what you think about this fight scene and what you think can be improved. This is pretty solidly non-canon and was just a little experiment/practice of mine. Enjoy!

LexCorp Security Versus Superman (A non-canon omake)
It was not often that Superman was truly ever put on the backfoot. One of the upsides of being a Kryptonian meant that on earth he could usually take whatever people could dish out. Aliens, metahumans and megalomaniacs could certainly hurt Superman and do damage but it was better he took it than the populace since he could overcome it all and ensure that the day was saved. And yet there was one foe who Superman consistently couldn't defeat, whose actions constantly left him scrambling to play catch up hoping to stop him from unleashing some twisted scheme.

Lex Luthor wasn't like most villains. He wasn't mentally unsound like Bizarro, single-minded like Parasite, sadistic like Metallo, or an outside force like Brainiac. No rather Lex Luthor used the very city of Metropolis in his bid for more power and control. Lex and Superman had never seen eye to eye. Lex sought to dominate and control everything he surveyed. Superman couldn't be bought or threatened and constantly drew attention away from the billionaire which seemed to enrage him further. Superman meanwhile had learned of Lex's well hidden dark side. The man was willing to work with anyone and stoop to anything so long as it would accomplish his goals. He was in contact with people conducting human experimentation and worse and had likely condoned a few highly unethical experiments in his own labs. Unfortunately Superman couldn't prove anything while Lex couldn't eliminate Superman so the two remained locked in a stalemate.

Superman knew that if he were to ever defeat Lex it couldn't be through force, rather he'd have to beat Lex at his own game and find enough evidence to convict the billionaire of the crimes he has committed. That was far easier said than done but tonight Superman just might have gotten his big break. An informant had leaked to Lois Lane that LexCorp would be receiving a shipment of highly illegal contraband from Vlatava. As such Superman accompanied Lois in the investigation.

The warehouse was dark and when Superman attempted to see through the walls he had found out that they were lined with lead. Lex Luthor had been lining most of his buildings walls with lead for years but it was still worth checking if it could avert some danger.

"You ready to go in?" Superman asked Lois. The reporter nodded resolutely and Superman burst through the doors of the warehouse.

The warehouse was large and well let and Superman could spot a bunch of men loading containers onto a truck to be taken to LexCorp. However he could also spot a somewhat familiar figure in Leonard Snart standing utterly exasperated at what was going on. A few men with odd uniforms stood near him.

Superman had met Leonard Snart while conducting an interview as Clark Kent. The man had been gruff and somewhat terse but he wasn't a bad person. He had made mention of his efforts in trying to make LexCorp more worker friendly and had chatted with Clark a few times about sports and such. However Leonard had lines that he wouldn't cross and one of them was that he would do his job as professionally as possible. Considering that Leonard worked as a LexCorp security guard that was not a good thing.

"You shouldn't be here Ms. Lane" Leonard gruffly bit out "Please don't make me escort you out"

"Snart" Lois bitterly responded "You shouldn't ask me to do something we both know I won't do"

"Damn" A man in an odd orange jumpsuit crowed from behind Leonard "Guess that means sex is off the table"

Another man, who Superman vaguely recognized as Leonard's friend Mick, slapped the back of the glib man's head.

"Shut up Sam" Mick bit out. A scruffy looking man near the now named Sam laughed while the youngest of the group nervously looked on. Leonard just let out a small sigh before turning to face Superman.

"And how about you Supes, any chance I can convince you not to make things unpleasant?" Leonard asked politely.

Superman shook his head.

"I'd rather not fight Leonard but I've got to do what's right" Superman responded. Leonard looked at Superman again straight in the eyes.

"I'd really rather not do this Superman but I've got a job to do and the boss man specifically told me to keep any and all intruders away from this shipment. I might not agree with the boss on everything but people are relying on me to get this job done. That means if you keep pushing I'm going to fight you with everything I've got" Leonard slowly elaborated "I'd really rather not have to resort to violence"

"You'd instead rather sell out your conscience for a paycheck" Lois bitterly rejoined.

"That's how capitalism works sweetie" Leonard responded back in equal annoyance "I'd rather be guilty and have food on the table and a roof over my head than poor but righteous"

"Hey now Len don't go picking on her too much" The scruffy looking man drawled out "After all she's some big name general's kid right? Bet you she never had to really struggle to make ends meet for a single day in her life. After all its easy to look down on the common folk when you live in some ivory tower"

Superman internally cringed. He knew that Lois' relationship with her father was a very touchy issue. Chances of things deescalating were rapidly plummeting. Still he'd try and do his best.

"Leonard we don't have to fight" Superman calmly stated preventing Lois from biting out whatever retort she had that would only result in more anger "just step aside and let us do what's right"

"No can do big blue" Leonard calmly stated. He looked disappointed. Superman tensed ready to leap into action. A small stand off occurred. In the end it was shattered when the truck had finished loading up and began to drive off. Superman flew forwards but a laser struck him in the chest halting his momentum. Lois raced forward trying to see what was in the truck. The rest of the men in the warehouse readied their weapons and a small cyclone began brewing around the scruffy looking man. The youngest of the group had ended up transforming into a large tar monster. The fight had broken out.

"Joey, smother Supes. Sam you block projectiles and keep him off balance, Mark's got mobility restriction and Mick you're in charge of coordinating here" Leonard barked out his orders "I'm catching our intrepid reporter friend"

Leonard raced off after Lois. Superman prepared try and follow them but a stream of fire burst between him and Leonard, obstructing his path. Superman noticed the small explosive that had been sailing through the air only a second or so before it went off. There was a bright flash which blinded Superman, forcing him to rely on his superhearing to avoid the follow up streams of fire and the various shrapnel that was being hurled at him thanks to the wind. He managed to move around them when all of a sudden he was wracked with an immense pain and he dropped down onto the ground. Practically an instant later he heard the boom of thunder. The men had apparently deduced how he was dodging their attacks and decided to counter it with lightning, relying on the fact that lightning moved faster than the sound it generated meaning that listening to try and hear it coming was counterproductive. Superman cried out in pain as he was struck by another bolt.

Cautiously he opened his eyes. While things were still blurry he could make out a man with a wand-like device that he was waving around. Superman moved right before the man brought down the rod and narrowly avoided the blast of lightning. The man scowled. Superman's vision cleared up and he saw that it was the scruffy looking man who had generated the cyclone who had fired lightning at him. He also noticed that there were numerous mirrors flying around in the cyclone.

Superman suddenly felt a goopy weight on his foot and saw the tar monster grabbing onto him. He used his freeze breathe to freeze the monsters hand before shattering it with sheer strength. Superman flew up out of the monsters range as he wove past another tongue of flame that licked the air around him.

"You don't have to do this" Superman called out hoping they would listen to reason trying one last time to deescalate before he got started fighting back in earnest.

"A job is a job" A coarse voice called out. Superman managed to identify the speaker as Mick right before more razor sharp projectiles were hurled at him from out of the cyclone. Superman realized that he wouldn't be able to get close to the man in the cyclone quickly enough to avoid a reprisal from either Mick or the tar monster so he fired out a blast of his heat vision.

In reaction to this, Sam, the man in the orange jumpsuit whom Superman had honestly lost track of in all the fighting, jumped out of a mirror and reflected the beams before popping back into another mirror. Superman attempted to fire again but Sam continued to intercept the blasts. More worryingly he was getting better at ricocheting them back as he rapidly positioned limbs and devices out of any reflective surface to send the blasts back at Superman. This, combined with the constant lightning and projectiles being hurled by the man in the cyclone, and the tar monster that stayed just below Superman and occasionally tossed projectiles at him reduced the amount of space Superman had to dodge in.

As a stream of fire flew towards him Superman realized that he didn't have the room to maneuver and so instead decided to meet it head on. He let out some of his freeze breath to counteract the heat. The two blasts met in a stalemate for a while but eventually Superman overpowered and nullified the blast.

"Game over Superman" The man in the cyclone chuckled "Down comes the guillotine"

Superman glanced above him when he saw a mirror inches over his head. Then all of a sudden black tar poured out of the mirror landing on him. It's weight dragged him down to the floor where he landed with a thud. The tar covered every inch of Superman and was attempting to smother him. Superman held his breath and tried to punch his way out. He heard some muted rumbling come from the tar monster but couldn't make out any words as the tar was clogging his ears. Then everything started to burn as the tar grew superheated. The pain was excruciating as Superman was being covered in boiling tar. He opened his mouth to let out a scream of pain and the tar flowed in, muffling his words and amplifying his pain. He needed to get out now.

Superman spun in place as quickly as he could, ripping his way out of the tar monster as gale force winds began howling just from the sheer speed of his motion.

"Shit, Mark can you counter this?" Mick asked the scruffy looking man in desperation "I can't help Joey with my fire when there is all this wind"

"I'll do my best" The now identified man, Mark called out. he began waving his wand in circles and the winds Superman generated began to die down as they were countered by equal win moving in the opposite direction.

Superman though was out of the tar monster and ready to fight once more. He raced towards Mick dodging the lasers fired at odd angles by his comrade who popped out of the mirrors. Seeing that he had little time to defend himself Mick dropped his flamethrower and pulled out what looked like the hilt to a sword. He flicked a switch and a blade of concentrated plasma poured out. Superman stepped back out of range avoiding the strike. Before he could retaliate though Mick was pulled through a mirror.

"I'll kill you!" The tar monster, which was still on fire, roared at Superman as it began charging at him after having finally reconstituted itself. Superman wove past various lightning strikes and then used his freeze breath to freeze the tar monster in place. One down four to go.

Mick popped out of a mirror being held by Sam. He growled in frustration.

"We're using the Sonoma Special Mark" Mick muttered. With a wave of his hand and a flourish of his wand Mark then generated a bevy of cyclones. Mick then lit those cyclones on fire as they went hurtling towards Superman. Superman wove around them. Yet despite having avoided them all he heard chuckling. Superman then realized what they had been aiming for.

A mighty roar emanated as the tar monster broke free of the ice, its exterior completely on fire as an inferno blazed around it. This time though Superman was ready for it. Just as it was right on top of him Superman punched upwards with all of his might. The sheer speed and force of his blow punched a hole in the roof of the warehouse and sent the tar monster flying up into the air. The monster could recuperate from any damage that would occur due to getting splattered but that would take it out of the fight.

Mark swore and readied another shot but Superman was faster and hurled a rock at his hand knocking the wand from his grasp. Sam jumped and grabbed Mick before vanishing into another mirror. He made a motion to grab Mark but Superman had already gotten between them and knocked out Mark. Finally he should be making some headway.

All of a sudden Superman saw Sam and Mick. however he couldn't touch them.

"You finally learned what its like to be one of us mere mortals Supes" Mick ground out as Sam chuckled. Superman kept trying to strike at them but his hand passed through them whenever he touched them.

"Don't bother trying to hurt us" Sam taunted "We're in one of the few things you can't wreck"

Superman was growing frustrated as he pondered what they had done. Maybe this was some kind of hologram? The question was shortly answered for him although it was far more horrifying than what he had been theorizing.

"We're in your eye Superman" Sam elaborated, gloating all the while "All eyes have a reflective surface in them even yours and as the Mirror Master I can move through them freely"

Superman felt a sharp burst of pain as it felt as though his eye was being forcefully torn apart so that an object could pass through it. He saw Mick standing before him with a large bulky device.

"Burn in Hell Superman" Mick said calmly as he activated the device which glowed for a split second with abstract runes before an endless torrent of flames burst forth. Superman was in utter agony. These flames hurt worse than any he had been exposed to before. For several minutes he was roasted and charred by the flames. Eventually though the fire ran out and Superman was still standing. Shakily and unsteadily but he was still on his feet.

"What the hell does it take to put him down?" Mick murmured in disbelief.

"More than you or Luthor have got" Superman responded before decking Mick in the face and knocking him out.

Superman briefly examined himself. He had burns across his skin and the top part of his suit as well as his cape had been burned off entirely. But he could still keep going. He scanned the area and spotted Leonard next to a downed Lois who he had frozen to the floor. Lois was still conscious but the trucks had gotten away. Superman flew over to where they were.

"Leonard" Superman said slowly and calmly.

"Trucks got away big blue" Leonard responded back smoothly "No need for their to be anymore fighting"

Superman breathed a sigh of relief. Thank god for small mercies he supposed. He got Lois out of the ice when all of a sudden a lazer clipped him in the back. Superman stumbled forwards.

"Sam what..." Leonard cried out before Lois interrupted him by punching him right in the nose. Leonard growled in frustration and reached for his weapon only to realize it had been knocked loose. Lois hit him in the face again causing Leonard to drop down from the force of the blow. He then started scrambling for his gun.

Superman meanwhile turned to face Sam and saw a virtual army of the man in the orange jumpsuit.

"Can't beat me if you can't catch me" the man taunted before opening fire on Superman with dozens of lasers. Superman streaked past them. Every time he managed to land a blow on one of the many versions of Sam out there the man in the orange jumpsuit shattered into dozens of glass shards. Unfortunately for every one he broke two more doppelgangers took their place. Superman was starting to slow down from the sheer weight of the numbers.

"Sam you absolute moron what the hell are you doing!" Superman heard Leonard cry out "Superman had stopped fighting us at that point and you went and shot him like a fucking moron"

Sam looked sheepish as he realized what he had done.

"Oops?" he hesitantly said.

"Oops my ass" Leonard shouted in annoyance "Now I've got a busted nose, Lois is frozen to the floor and you've been giving away tricks you didn't have to. Did you at least get the rest of the crew to safety"

"Everybody but Joey's in the mirror dimension safe and sound" Sam declared slightly perking up at having apparently done something right "Joey's kind of up in the air right now but I'll grab him once he comes back down and reconstitutes himself"

Leonard stumbled over as Sam popped out of the shard of the broken mirror near him.

"Superman I'd say it's been a pleasure but it really, really hasn't. Lets not make this a reoccurring trend okay?" Leonard grumbled, his broken nose making his voice sound a little odd "Take us out of here Sam we've earned our paychecks"

The two LexCorp security employees vanished through the mirror leaving Superman alone with naught but Lois and his thoughts. The warehouse looked like a warzone. Superman unfroze Lois again and flew her back to her apartment. The two made plans on how to keep on trying to investigate LexCorp. Before Superman flew off into the night.

Clark sighed in discontent. To night was a bad night and he had pretty handily lost in the one area he had previously thought he outclassed Luthor and his forces in. It had been a disaster and could have gone much worse if Leonard hadn't decided to stop fighting. Of all his foes only Lex put him so effectively on the backfoot. For all of his Kryptonian might Clark couldn't help but feel just a little bit helpless that night.

Not a bad scene. The only critic I have is that we did not have recordings of it to analyze everything. Also that we did not call the police to arrest the illegal alien breaking the law.

Pr campaign, this self proclaimed alien superman claims he is better then us when he breaks into legitament business with his criminal associate the women who breaks the law and only gets away with breaking and entering because her father is a powerful general and assaults the staff of said places for doing their jobs and with no evidence

My logic is that the cameras were broken in the fight cause of how it trashed the warehouse. Again cause this is non-canon (neither Tar Pit not Weather Wizard are hero units you currently have) and it was fight scene practice for me I didn't try to address too much outside from the fight.

Would you mind letting me know if there was a specific moment you really liked or a moment that fell flat for you? I've generally felt that my fight scenes are usually the weakest part of my writing and I want to get better at them.

Hmmm.... can we screw with Lois Lane & Clark Kent by deliberately leaking fake suspicious shipments?

  1. Lois gets an anonymous tip on secret LexCorp shipments to Santa Prisca.
  2. Holes are left in security for our intrepid reporters to just waltz in (while being secretly recorded for evidence of breaking and entering of course).
  3. Codewords used for the shipments are straight out from Darth Sidius shitty naming sense like Death, Doom, Shadow, Poison xxx.
  4. Everything is stuffed into lead lined shipping containers.
  5. One of the workers "accidentally" drop a barrel filled with suspicious white powder and everyone reacts like there's been a hazmat breech.
  6. Lois Lane does her thing writing about this and report to the authorities.
  7. Shipment is intercepted, we have our own news crew on standby covering this.
  8. We have our guys reveal that all we were shipping were baby formula and rations for relief efforts ongoing in Santa Prisca.
  9. Enter the lawsuits.

So, if a certain news channel happened to carry a story on superman destroying company property? Criminal trespass and all that other jazz.... I mean really supes wants to desecalate but has literally no legal standing to be where he was/

Yes this could most certainly be a nemesis action

Well seeing how weather wizard and tar pit did anyone want to try and recruit them next turn?

Mick's lightsaber is actually based off of Firefly's lightsaber that he had in the DCAU
This was a thing and I remember it sticking out in my memory as being cool so I decided to crib it for this piece. Why let only the Batman villains have the fun toys? I'm still blown away at the fact that it's been canon in one of the largest pieces of DC media for years that Batman fought a guy with a lightsaber and this is a relatively obscure fact.

Edit: On a somewhat unrelated note I've figured out how to get images working again I think. I may do some updates to character pages soon if this manages to stay working and not devolve into a mess like my previous work with pictures did.

Dear God the balls on that man.

I mean, I'm genuinely impressed by how well our villain Quirky Miniboss Squad's attacks are working against Superman. Sure, he's inspired by DCAU Superman whose invulnerability isn't as impressive, but still.

OK, let's humor Mirror Master and give him is "learn about mirrors" action. It's official. :p

Needs a lanyard. Then again, if it was Superman trying to disarm him, he might end up literally disarmed if we were wearing one, and while company health plan provides replacement limbs, they're just not the same.

Sheer genius. :D

That was actually available as an option from the reverse-engineered alien tech work Ivo did for us. We could probably get it if we wanted in a turn or two of "learn about heat." Mick and one of the relatively gifted Learning heroes we have could probably do it, as long as the co-op isn't bad (Mick has poor co-op with our high-Learning characters, except for Rebecca, and that'd be a good teamup but Rebecca is often busy on straight-up magic actions).

I liked how they came prepared to fight Superman. The problem I had is well they are fighting super man. Fighting Superman is like fighting well a god who is all powerful. I expect anyone to do that to be brave or insane. While I do not know there personal reasons lex must be paying them a lot. But I liked the fight scene and how they came at Superman with what they believed would be a good tactic.

wonder when someone would come up with superman insurance and use loopholes to steal money oh so sorry but because it was darkseid who destroyed your home when he fell on it it doesn't count as superman destroying it

Offering metahuman insurance would be a novel way to keep track of everyone, and it'd mean we'd have every reason to know how much property damage Superman has caused if we decided to go that route.

DCAU Superman is a bit less overwhelmingly powerful than the typical portrayal. My impression is that sure, he's invulnerable to conventional hand weapons, but antitank weaponry can knock him around pretty well, and energy weapons tend to give him real trouble.

Plus, these are the same guys who in canon routinely fight the Flash one-on-one, which is almost as fundamentally insane.

Flash may be... I dunno, A-rank whereas Superman is (appropriately) S-rank or something, and Flash might fare poorly against Supes in a solo fight. But when you're a villain whose schtick is "guy with a weird ray gun" or "guy who can use mirrors as portals," going up against someone like the Flash takes the same kind of guts, resourcefulness, and utter refusal to accept that you are hilariously outmatched that fighting Superman would.

But I liked the fight scene and how they came at Superman with what they believed would be a good tactic.
Several of them, even. Also, and this is Leonard's signature defining characteristic shining through, their actions were well-coordinated and planned out in advance. Mirror Master was constantly yanking the others out of danger, which when an angry Superman is around is pretty important.

Yeah but than we have to pay out when a meta human destroys something. That gets expensive in the DC universe. We can but it would operate at a major lose of money.

Dear God the balls on that man.
Captain Cold, regularly takes on easily one of the most powerful people on the planet armed with nothing but a parka, some gadgets and his wits without flinching, casually murders speedsters who he feels crossed the line, takes on superpowered zombies relatively unflinchingly and has gone against the entire secret society of supervillains because he didn't like their overly loose code of ethics and then murdered the cheap knockoffs they sent to kill him. Captain Cold keeps his cool through all of it for the most part.
Oh my God.

The really impressive thing comes when you realize that this still isn't the full potential of Mirror Master. Mirror Master is really freaking impressive. Like the fact that he has to either be kind of an idiot or have a cocaine addiction to give heroes a fighting chance against him shows just some of the levels of bullshit he can reach.

Like optimal Mirror Master literally cannot be struck, can teleport around the world near instantly from any reflective surface, can make armies of himself and can basically one-shot anyone with eyeballs by pulling through their own eye into the mirror dimension. Even without the eye trick being able to pull people into the mirror dimension basically gives him an instant "I win" button as anyone who can't casually escape pocket dimensions gets stranded there and dies of starvation never to escape. Mirror Master is really, really scary once he gets his shit together. In general Flash villains tend to be terrifying to the extreme once you start letting them cut loose with their abilities which is something Lex can most certainly do. Even Captain Boomerang (who is probably the major Flash villain with the least potential) can go toe to toe with Batman and has outlasted literally over dozens of other superpowered criminals in the Suicide Squad despite being one of the most hated members.

I'm glad to hear that. I don't think Superman is equivalent to an all powerful god (and I certainly don't like to write him that way). I actually think had they played dirtier and adapted better they could have won. The main reason why they lost is despite having a good plan and solid teamwork, without Leonard to call the shots they didn't adapt well once they were down a member (basically once Superman got one of them out of the fight things quickly tilted in his direction).

They also weren't playing to win per se. The LexCorp security squad, despite immediately going for lethal measures was not attempting to kill Superman. If they had been doing that then Leonard would had stuck around and made things even worse for Superman. Instead they were trying to delay him/prevent anyone from reaching the shipment in time and decided to go for lethal measures right off of the bat as they figured that's the only way they could slow Superman down.

As to them being brave or insane, all of these guys take on the Flash regularly without the backing of Lex Luthor so their sanity/bravery is up to you.
On the upside, insurance tends to cover acts of god.
Do acts of Zeus count as acts of god? Or if there is an invasion by Darkseid is only the damage he does an act of god or do the parademons attacks also count? These are just a few of the questions that haunt the dreams of insurance folks in the DCU.
Flash may be... I dunno, A-rank whereas Superman is (appropriately) S-rank or something, and Flash might fare poorly against Supes in a solo fight.
Flash is actually potentially way more dangerous than Superman. Sure Superman is more durable but Flash can pull of bullshit like turn intangible, make anything he touches explode, time travel and punch you with infinite mass. Flash is crazy dangerous and I actually think he's more dangerous than Superman when he goes all out. He just generally doesn't go all out as often so he seems weaker by comparison.
