@King crimson: Right, so... here goes nothing I guess.
Considerations for The Future
Things went very wrong, and Lex Luthor didn't know why. With the remaining assassins so brutally murdered in police custody, any
halfwit against him would use it as "evidence". Though that isn't what truly bothers him, when there's
always some fool trying to make him look bad...
No, what bothers him is the fact someone deliberately wants him and this "Ra's Al Ghul" to fight. The fact Lex Luthor doesn't know
why is just infuriating... Still, getting those answers will be easy enough, even if annoying to do so.
But, even though he always acts like everything is going well or was deliberately planned for... Lex Luthor couldn't help being bothered
just a little. Having assassins sent after him? No big deal, bound to happen eventually.
Yet... Lex Luthor knows
many things, but couldn't immediately figure out how those assassins even
died in police custody. This isn't
Gotham after all, and he certainly would of known if there were dirty cops.
Just the thought of some unknown individual with power like him, deliberately wanting Lex to throw his resources and employees to combat this... "League of Assassins" utterly
infuriates him.
Deep breathes...
"I mustn't get carried away with theories, for all I know the ones responsible merely wanted to expose Ra's Al Ghul. Perhaps they can be reasoned with, if they hate that man so much?"
... Lex was just angered by the thought he was dismissed as merely someone's pawn, his plan ruined out of sheer disregard! Could those
idiots have not waited until the FBI and CIA were tracking down their employer!?
Knowing Miss Lane, she'll likely try to convince people he
illogically had them killed to send a message! If he wanted to do that, he would of convinced them to betray Ra's Al Ghul so he could
personally obliterate him from this planet!!
...
"Focus, getting angry means making stupid mistakes, and I'm Lex Luthor. The Cellphone King, the man who revolutionized LexCorp in just six months, and the future savior of humanity."
Having calmed down, Lex Luthor began thinking things over. Regardless of who was responsible and the disruption Ra's Al Ghul may pose, it wasn't a bad idea to have someone readied to act on Lex's will.
Mercy was the first to immediately come to mind, but... Much as he genuinely trusts her, even fond of her, she's ultimately nowhere near his genius. Oh sure, she could manage directing the employees well and follow his instructions...
But that
arrogant fool, Anthony Ives, would never listen to her. Honestly, if things were different, Lex would of immediately rejected the man... But his robotics expertise
should prove useful.
Just the thought of employing advanced robots got Lex's mind whirling with the possibilities. Machine soldiers so real lives wouldn't have to be wasted, mechanical laborers who would work 24/7, of sending them to explore the ocean depths and other planets...
Still, putting Ives in charge would see LexCorp collapse within the year, all so he could indulge his obsessions. There's a fine distinction between a genius, and an
idiot with knowledge above his station.
Now, Pamela Isley on the other hand... She's brilliant, if not
quite on Lex's level. She's also too naive, doesn't fully think things through yet... While protecting the planet he lives on
is preferable, Miss Isley might just unwittingly ruin LexCorp.
"Still... She does have potential, so molding her into a suitable stand-in is far easier than Ives. Might be best to have Pamela and Mercy work together, if I ever need to disappear for a while."
Ultimately though, it was all mere considerations... Lex Luthor has
no intention of dying or disappearing. Besides, with the amount of effort he'll need to spend, be easier just having a kid and grooming them.
"Hmm, maybe I should focus more on biological research? Literally creating the perfect heir... Heiress, best to avoid any sons myself. Perhaps Lena? I did want a sister with that name..."
Whatever the case, he has an interview with Lois Lane to prepare for. Hmm, maybe he should woo her sister, just out of spite? No, there are better ways to embarrass Lois...
