@yrsillar, in case you missed it, does Li Suyin no longer gave +2/3 to spiritual as she is red still and we are yellow? Also, you missed +6 bonus success to the second Qi roll and +2 bonus success to the real spiritual cultivation action.

Can you clarify a bit how the bonus success from tutoring work when it comes to having the same action multiple times if we do the weekly tutoring? Say, we do a weekly tutoring of moon, would we get 15*6 or 15+5*7 if we train EPC six times?

You can get around it via not robbing anything they'd notice though. Priority would for me be the tokens, as the fact they're formations test still isn't widely known. So if we can get into their houses, we can unlock the formations, take the pills, then just leave the tokens where they were.

Second would be taking advantage of the fact most disciples are now leaving their valuables behind, so they're not going to be looted if they lose a fight. Thus there's a good chance that within various disciples homes are jade slips with techniques on them, which can be learned without the owner noticing. This would allow us to build an store of techniques that was previously argued for, and without having to spend sect points to do so given some are likely to be higher tier versions of the ones we can access from the archive.

We can also in general gather information which can obviously be valuable of itself. A good thing would be that this would proc of the Grinning Moon's bonuses, which it has been noted several times that Ling Qi has the favor of. She also knows various prayers or rituals to it that she used during Zhao's test.

@yrsillar - I asked this previously, but what are Ling Qi's views of this option, as us players lack information about the setting that she'd know better. Does she think this option is viable to do right now, given it's already available?

Alright, I'll fix that.

if you do the same action multiple times the bonus gets halved along with everything else as normal.

Once we have been at the meeting with Cai we'll probably know if there is a game changer, but going to steal the tokens is a very, very good risk/reward ratio so far. Formless Shade basically counters any defensive formations they can have, and our superior stealth as well as trackless escape means we can steal the tokens without fear... and odds are, they aren't going to notice.

We are at the part of the year where there are enough target from Elder Zhou's class that are still at late red/gold and cannot detect us at all, so it should be a fairly high priority to do this depending on what we learn at the meeting.

Damnation. There goes my dream of EPC3 week 21.
 
Just to throw my hat into the ring with the whole puppetmaster discussion, I think everything went just according to keikaku. Accepting this as the ideal outcome we can extrapolate that the mysterious chessmaster's aim was to throw the legitimacy and competency of Cai Renxiang's rule into question though without knowing of their involvement with Ji Rong we can't base too much speculation on that. What they did do however is heavily involve Ling Qi in their scheme and while it could just be chance, that sort of mindset makes speculation boring so I'll assume they picked her for a reason. Also of note is the fact that it isn't much of a leap to think that Renxiang would choose the sneaky commoner, also the girl at the meeting most likely to listen to her because she isn't part of a faction nor a monster in her own right, to investigate the sneaky attacks in the female side of the residential area. Assuming they could also figure this out they'd probably know that Ling Qi, as a second stage cultivator, could find and take out their puppet but what could they possibly get from this?

Ling Qi has been set up as the fall guy, arguably beyond reproach since any wrongdoing could be claimed as another attempt to set her up. But who do we know that would want to help Ling Qi, has seen her mist well enough to mimic it, knows she's been training her unarmed mastery, has a bone to pick with "the system" and constantly pulls arts out of their arse? It was Li Suyin all along!

If I had any artistic talent I'd draw Suyin as Dio exclaiming that it was her all along. But alas, I have none.
 
I think the big upside of robbing homes or people is the act of doing it, rather than anything we can take. We make sure that the moon and maybe the Elder that gave us the art know we are using it to the fullest. Unfortunately using it to the fullest includes taking advantage of the larceny bonus somehow.

If we can get 3, or, hell, 6 token in a single action (burgling a home where elder zhou disciples are roomates) I'd say that the 18 bonus full cultivation rolls we'd get from that would be well worth it in itself.

Don't get me wrong I want to steal things, but a bunch of people don't thus it being part of the art packet I want to see used fully in the hopes of getting more Elder attention is unfortunate.

I'm fine with stealing tokens, but how would we know who still has their tokens and hasn't used them? We'd need to ask questions, which is suspicious as all hell. People will realise the tokens are valuable if we ask about them, and we don't even have as good a relationship with the other cultivators as we could, so it's already going to be difficult to do so.

We can't just raid people's homes at random.

Not at random. We raid people that got the tokens in the hopes they still have them. Keep in mind robbing houses is not actually against the rules Cai set. Only starting fights. We are very hard to catch so long as we do it at night, but if they do catch us we can leave and let them make something of it if they choose.
 
As much as I want it, robbing house (and not fighting anyone) squirt a tad too close for my tastes to breaking the rules. And the loss of one month is not worth whatever we would gain.

On the plus side, Cai know somebody used a doll of us. So we might be able to blame it on the doll rather than on us.

Anyway. One thing we can also do is engage outer sect disciples for training. They will probably cost much less than inner sect ones, but provide lesser benefits. It might be worth looking into for exemple to train our calligraphy or other such skills.

You do have a point, but I was asleep when the vote was locked. :/

In any case, if Li Suyin is breaking through this week as expected, she wouldn't get anything out of the pill anyways, so eh. As it is, if she or Su Ling fail their breakthrough, we should be able to give them the pill to catch up. For Su Ling we can couch it in terms of a favor owed in terms of helping us with best-turtle, and for Li Suyin I hope her resent seeming-to-gain-some-resolve should be enough to let her accept without major negatives.

Su Ling helped us with best-turtle in response to us giving the AM. Just ask her for help with harvesting beast cores and so on. A fair number of people are interested in picking that social anyway.

Su Ling helped us some, sure. We could always use more help though. Last time it was setting up the kiln; next time it might be advice on proper nutrition on whatnot.

(Or whatever. Point is, if she needs it to be a trade, this is something we can ask for.)
 
Okay, I would say that Tokens are a pretty good item to steal.

Most of the people in Zhou's class are meatheads, though it tapered a bit once they got into the Advanced Class. Nevertheless, if they managed to get into the second part of the tryouts, they would at the minimum gain one Token, whether Sun or Moon. Some of them would lose said Tokens to opponents, like the well boy, but others might have failed out of the test while still keeping a Token, or two if one got the same type of Token from another testee, or even three if the guy's unlucky.

Now, if we can isolate the meatheads, we might find ones that didn't think of the Tokens and simply leave them lying around in their homes, not even checking them out at the shops or something.

On the other hand, undoing the Formation test vanishes the Tokens, so we can't grab the goods and leave empty Tokens behind.

On the other tentacle, most of those who are in the class are probably males, and Ling Qi might not be good enough in Formations to break into the male residence, so she has a smaller chance to find Tokens among the females.

On the fourth unpredictably random limb, be very, very, very careful on picking targets to thieve upon. Someone already tried framing Ling Qi...

It doesn't, unless I read it wrongly? The tokens are a physical thing, and the formations array (probably something similar to the storage rings) were inscribed on them. Removing the pills shouldn't do anything to the tokens themselves. We should still have our own, they're just normal objects now and not relevant to the story any longer.

Hmm, I remember reading about the tokens unraveling into dust, and then in their place, elixirs/pills/drugs.

Might want to re-check.
