Forge of Destiny(Xianxia Quest)

We just got confirmation from Yrsillar that we don't get a mastery in Yellow for Argent Genesis. This means no bonus.

This is wrong.
We did not Master AS before silver/yellow.

We did get the boni from it.

As AS4 was the "optimal" point for breakthrough into silver/yellow to get all the boni, i expect there will be an optimal AG point to break through into green/bronze to get all the boni.

The bonus is because we mastered it. It is called Argent Soul Mastery. We have just been explicitly told by @yrsillar than no such bonus is available from yellow to green at Argent Genesis, as we cannot master it.

Mastery doesn't mean, in this context, 'finished it all'. It just means getting to AS4.
Argent Soul Mastery
Multiply die bonus of natural sites by 1.5(rounded up)

Correct but phrased weirdly. We cannot max it out in yellow.
This means no bonus.
You literally quoted him saying that AS 4 out of 5 gave a permanent bonus if it was acquired before late red.
AS4 is not maxed out AS. the max is AS5. So we know for a fact it is possible to have missable bonuses from Argent Soul that happen before mastery of AS and before breakthrough to yellow.

So it is entirely possible that the next art in the tree, Argent Gensis, would also have such a thing.

Argent soul starts off in red and ends in mid yellow. Argent Genesis starts off in yellow and goes into green. It crosses breakthrough boundaries and provides bonuses if acquired early.

I think what we should do, is when we get to mid yellow try asking the elders if there is a way to we can get argent genesis sooner since not having it impedes our cultivation.

No. We cannot gain the Argent Genesis Mastery. Not max it out. The Mastery. Those are two different things.

Again, we didn't max out AS, but we have the Argent Soul Mastery. Those are not the same things.

I support the path of continuing sticking with Meizhen, but I would also prefer to continue our alliance with Han Jian. I'm hoping if we can successfully introduce Meizhen and Han Jian's group it will allow the Meizhan to gain more political allies after our graduation from the sect. It's been hammered into us that the Bai family is surrounded by scavengers and enemies, I'd prefer to start creating some inroads with new allies to offset that, especially as I feel we will be sticking with Meizhen long term.

That said, since the [] Plan A Cultivator is a Social Animal plan has made huge gains overnight. I'm gonna swap to it.

[X] Plan A Cultivator is a Social Animal

*Shrugs* Honestly Argent Soul was so good and helpful for building everything up that I'm pretty sure it will be worth pursuing Argent Genesis actively as soon as it's available. Just the chance it provides a breakthrough bonus at low levels like Argent Soul does at 4 makes it more than worth it, and even if it doesn't the dice advantage granted is likely to be potent.

I'm honestly curious as to how Eight Phases Ceremony works. My guess is that it offers a bonus to different forms of cultivation based on the phase of the moon, which means two powerful but specific bonuses each week.

I am going to need a citation on this.

I seriously doubt that, politically, they would be willing to ally with her.

I imagine that there will be a few ways to catch an Elder's attention before the end of the year tourney, like a special job or competition for that Elder's interests. It wouldn't be all that radical for Inner Sectship to be dangled for any clear number ones in the group, so that they don't just stomp the tourney.

The argument is to purposefully not get to green for months in order to begin cultivating it at yellow, hence significantly slowing down our cultivation in all aspects and risking not getting Argent Genesis at all, all for a bonus @yrsillar confirmed didn't exist.

I gave it earlier in this page. that's how the bonus we got from Argent Soul is called: mastery.

I can see that yeah. That would be fun to try and get in, if it happens.

@yrsillar - People have implied that we can't switch cultivator arts without losing all progress in the other, however is it possible to train two at the same time? For example us starting to train EPC on the same turn we are to finish Argent Soul?

Second question is if there are any other Argent techniques within the archive, and if so at what level would they be?

I see it now... and that actually undermines your argument not support it.

Yrsillar said genesis starts at yellow but gives mastery at green.

AS started at red, gave mastery when we broke through to yellow.
So, yrsillar is explicitly telling us that if we break through to green, we want to have argent genesis already up since that will give us a mastery bonus.

NO. He said it cannot be mastered until green. So we gain the mastery when we go from Green to Cyan. It doesn't give the mastery at green, it's mastered then.

I suppose you could, yes.

As for this, Ling Qi doesn't know.

I completely disagree

@yrsillar can you please clarify.

Does Argent Genesis "mastered at green" mean:
A. Breakthrough from yellow to green with high level argent genesis gives a "mastery bonus"
B. Breakthrough from green to cyan with a high level argent genesis gives a "mastery bonus"

Pretty sure Genesis doesn't give mastery at Yellow --> Green, but you know, you can just ask. Not like we're reaching the point when its relevant anytime soon.

Only just got through writing up the vent crew and Han Jians, also just wanted to get on p400 since I missed the 300th...

Genesis starts at Late Yellow, but cannot be mastered until green.

Technically he said mastered not mastery. You're trying to equate one with the other. He's referring to the cap on Genesis when it maxes out. Mastery are our breakthrough bonuses awarded for a certain degree of skill in an art. Mastered is maxed out as in finished completely. There can be degrees of mastery but mastered has the implication of finality to it. Plus why would we even get answers about bonuses available? We don't get stuff like that till it's irrelevant or we know IC. All we're being told is when it starts and when it ends. Don't read too much into this we still don't have enough info to rule bonuses out. Just like we haven't mastered AS we could get bonuses for Genesis before mastering that as well.

@Neptune you should vote for my plan, it's the one plan we are mostly sure to easily get AS5 next turn without cultivating it directly, so it's easier to begin EPC~~~

Honestly I'm thinking it's a bit of a foregone conclusion that we need to do Genesis before finishing yellow. AS5 will presumably give us stuff up to late yellow. Well the sequel art Argent Genesis starts at late yellow...that in itself speaks volumes.
