Forge of Destiny(Xianxia Quest)

[X] ...Seek out Shen Hu, he gave you quite a runaround, it can't hurt to make nice with a peer like him

Han Jian just managed to squeak a win along with that rando upper year.

Also, Meizen being her normal scarry af persona probably hovered over the remainders shoulders and let them sort it out among themselves.

Where as Duchess Cai just doesnt give a fuck.

To be fair, given the political situation, the Sun Family really need their Heir to excel, she doesnt have to care.
And beyond that ... Duchess Cai is (relatively, for a Ducal clan leader), pretty handicapped politically simply because she's new. She's the first generation of her Ducal clan, and ALSO young.

Young is less important than the fact she's been White for three quarters of her life, and has eight hundred years ahead of her if she doesn't ascend first

I mean, Shen Hu also showed adaptive thinking. He didn't just wait and have us nip at the edges of his qi until he was depleted. He saw what we were doing, and decided to leave his predetermined, heavily defensible location in order to chase down his victory condition.

He saw that he might lose in a pure 1v1 confrontation with our qi regen strategy, and so decided to take matters in his own hands and end the match as quickly as possible. Which is fairly impressive from a person who seems to fare the best when he sets the stage and challenges people to come and get him.

So, looking at the people going into the next round, three pretty clear categories appear.

The ones that need to pass:
CRX, Sun, Bai, and to a lesser degree us, Ji Rong, and Kang

The ones that will be losing:
The four yellows, Han Fang, possibly Wen Ai

The borderline cases:
Xiulan, Han Jian, Chu Song, and Shen Hu

Wen could go into the last category, but leaving her in the lower group to be fed to the upper few nicely gives us equal numbers between them, and leaves us with two more competitive fights. They wouldn't want to give any of the big three an easier fight than any other, so they all fight a nameless yellow, as does Kang to make him look good. We probably fight Fang due to his involvement in Gan's loss, and Ji Rong gets Wen Ai. Having the Golden fields group fight among themselves is an unlikely choice, so Xiulan and Jian get the second years in the fight.

It's possible Kang is given a real fight instead of one of the second years, if one of them is more important than him to the sect, but it looks like this is how they'd organize things.

Shen Hu option is ... probably not the best option just after what is basically a humiliation ?
Depends on how you interpret this fight. He wasn't really injured or tired at the end there from what we could see, so it can be interpreted as pushing up his rep by saying "I got through all that okay". So on and so forth. He also doesn't seem pissed at us, so from his perspective he obviously doesn't think it was a humiliation, and he's really who we'd be worried about.

Which in turn also means she doesn't need to care. Renxiang's success isn't a concern of hers after all, short of an outright snub the Sect won't make for any price
And of course, she can always make more babies until one of them turns up alright. As she has shown.

Sect Head is White too, right? He isn't shown as that absurd of a presence as Cai Mom, and I'd expect him to be stronger to to being much older, and his pretty swanky path.

I'm not sure if the Sect Head is White. There are only a handful of whites in the entire Empire after all. I find it more likely that he is prism. Still highly impressive, but not as powerful as the Duchess.

I seem to recall a statement made somewhere that he is Prism. And even if he is White you can explain him not being a case of Shenhua "OH GOD MY EYES ARE LEAKING DOWN MY CHEEKS!" because he's not right in front of us and gently bopping us over the head with his aura.
