Forge of Destiny(Xianxia Quest)

Ahahaha!

So, we probably want that anklet, so we can shadowstep all day. Aside from that... I'll have to think.

@yrsillar, is the gown incompatible with the vest, or can they be stacked? And if they can't be stacked, can we sell the vest to recoup a few stones of value when we get the gown?

@yrsillar

+55 Red Spirit Stones
+2 Yellow Spirit Stones
+3 Qi Expansion Pills
+2 Clear Wind Pills
+1 Lesser Storage Ring (10 Slots)
+15 stones worth of Pills

Is this the total amount of looted stuff or is this Ling Qi's share? I believe it is the latter but it would be nice to have confirmation.

Looting the twins for their equipment gained the party up to 105 stones worth of talismans (~52.5 stones if sold and split). Better put it to good use cause the twins are definitely going to be back.

I say go full in on the gown, we will probably not get as good price for it nor the same quality of it if we go without Gu Xuilan.

Is it odd I feel less guilty now? They made threats and still tried to taunt and insult us. Screw them, only end I see to this "feud" is when we completely crush any hope they have of victory against us (I'm a proponent of simply getting that good rather than doing something to them)

Possibly not? I mean I feel terribly guilty right now so there's that. The grudge probably wouldn't have ended if we only took a little bit of their stuff, but it still feels bad. It could be beneficial to point Li Suyin their way in order to alleviate the grudge and get her some more experience with medicinal values, but I can see that exploding in our face.

[] Let Xiulan get you fitted for a gown

If we are getting a new gown, might as well get a decent one.

All of those are interesting, but... @yrsillar, we can only use one accessory and one weapon talisman until yellow right? then one weapon and two accessory?

Well, it's this greed that decided to escalate it from a schoolyard tussle to a blood feud. At this point, nothing is out of the question on their side.

Let the spoils salve your conscience! Give in to the power of the shiny side!

Seriously, though; they're rich, and we're not. We're going to be doing this a lot, if we want to keep up with people who are receiving significant outside aid. Best to just get used to it.

I agree, yeah. Go all in on Gown, and supplement it with a few trinkets.

I honestly don't know if it is at the point of a blood feud yet. We let their brother be healed, and we didn't beat them up after they surrendered. Unfortunately, they are young, and will not take favorably to this loss. Hopefully, we can just outstrip them and keep them away from us so that they can't deal with us in the long run. It might be nice to write an apology letter to them and refer them to Li Suyin, but they might take that the wrong way.

Ehh.... the sooner we get through this and the more distance is given to this choice the more likely I'll forget about this event as my coping mechanism.

Yeah weapon/armor/ 1 accessory per stage(whichever is higher)

Referring them to Li Suyin is more likely to just have them murder her for being a weak associate of ours at this point.

That's the problem when you decide to escalate to a blood feud, they'll do anything they think they can get away with--and as we've just seen, the whole "Don't maim/kill" thing is more of a strongly worded suggestion than an ironclad rule--it just means you can't do it publically, but what happens outside the gaze of the public doesn't get protected by the rules.

So happy to see an update but they had to (not quite) ruin it with their cries of vengence. Oh well, suppose we ought to get used to making enemies...
Yeah considering she's already a healer I wouldn't say getting Li Suyin in their cross hairs would be worth the attempt at burying the hatchet

An apology letter to them for what? For winning a fight? I'm not going to apologise for not letting ourself be beaten and robbed.

Murder is forbidden, but yeah they can make her life a living hell.

... Still cant say I feel guilty or anything, I look at the setting and at the characters and decided if they step foot on the battlefield that is this cultivator micro cosmos then they should not expect special treatment.

Yes, it's hypocritical, they would have taken us for everything we're worth if they won, assuming they didn't 'Accidentally' cripple us while they were at it.

But here's the thing, we just gave them legitimacy in the eyes of the public here, it's no longer them just crying sour grapes that they bit off more than they could chew, it's that we literally took them for everything they had with them on a fight that we didn't get seriously hurt in, that they had a legitimate reason for starting.

And if they go and ask their families for resources to get vengeance, and get it, they can then use this to just buy a small gang to fuck us up with. We've already seen how they have the resources and attention to spare to watch the market to snap up anything we sell there to recover them, affording an expensive talisman on short notice. It's not that big an extension there for them to go "Hey, I want a gang of ten acolytes with me, I'll pay each of you ten spirit stones if you help me break the legs of this street rat when she goes out into an area we can zerg her in."

Yes. This is dumb. If you wanted to be merciful, the time was to do it before we looted them for everything. Mercy now is salt on the wound.

We're just going to have to deal with 3 adversaries specifically training to beat us, and we don't have the time or action points to waste on keeping tabs on them if we want to keep progressing and meeting our own goals.

I'm frustrated. We don't even need this many accessories, most of which we're going to have to sell and thus, goes straight back to them anyway. The lotus thing is nice, but we have so much qi that I wouldn't consider it all that important relative to other accessories to make our techniques cheaper. The only one that I really like is the anklets and those were from Hong Lin in the first place!

They attacked us in a setting where getting looted if you loose is not exactly unusual, this is something they really should have considered before starting shit and we could have been significantly more assholish than we were, by preventing them from healing in order to slow their recovery.

We're not so strong yet that we can afford to piss everybody off. So yes, the fact our social class is bad turns the 'Well, this is just to be expected' attitude into the 'Kill the fucking upstart now'.

That's the problem.

What we did is not culturally unusual, but we are not part of that culture yet.

So what we did is not "Talk shit, get hit", this is the equivilent of the angry bandit chief beating up the heroes and taking their magical items.
