Forge of Destiny(Xianxia Quest)

Quicksilver Wreathe. A circle of jagged black metal with an intense silvery sheen this weapon leaves eerie echo images as it moves. Dexterity + Expression. Darkness. Qi drain and AP.

Hey cool we thought of similar things @Grigori!

Alright, this all said it's clear you guys want to have your talisman made and the last vote didn't exactly make it clear what you guys wanted in your flying weapon.

In regards to flying swords... I'm not making any balance changes, but higher end flying swords will have pretty strong abilities, such that attacks with them are at least equivalent to attacks with middling level techs.

So anyway let me ask you guys to offer some suggestions on the form you want your weapon to take, and once I have a nice stable of suggestions I'll make some options out of those suggestions.

Please only do one suggestion per person. Suggestions should take the same form as my talisman descriptions, I.E describe a little bit of what it looks like and add some general theming descrip. Doesn't need to be more than a couple sentences.

I'm thinking some kind of boomerang or chakram shape? A black grinning crescent, to give face to the two... Uh, faces of the moon involved so far in our rise to power.

It's obviously going to be Darkness aligned, though if we can get two elements without ruining out, Darkness/Wind would be best.

Well, in keeping with our equipments flower theme (gown and knives) thought this up:

Night Blooming Lotus Blade:

A half blooming lotus made of black metal forms the base, carved with silvery filigree patterns on it's curving petals, and from the centre emerges a long smooth spike of pitch black, carved from an Umbral Shard. The emerging spike appears to consume all light it touches, and the lotus blades surrounding much of it's length are sharp enough and positioned such that glancing blows can turn into messy wounds. A majestic and beautiful weapon, but equally ominous and cruel.

At first glance, it almost just looks like a smooth black hilt with an odd shadow, as the blade is almost more like the concept of darkness instead of a physical object. Its wavy foot-long blade was carved directly out of an Umbral Shard, the process somehow adding to its darkness rather than subtracting from it. The hilt and crossguard are made out of a single piece of purest obsidian, but its surface seems somehow dull and faded beyond its true age, as if its sacrifice is all that keeps the hunger of the blade in check.

Element is Darkness, and uses Dexterity and Expression. Adds X dice to offensive clashes in low light and 2X in darkness. On a hit, the dagger makes a dispel check against one beneficial effect on the target, or if the target has no such effects to dispel drains Y Qi. Deals M of its damage as semiperfect and has armor piercing N.

Specific abilities fairly negotiable. I'll edit and keep a log of changes if people seem to suggest changes en masse.

Sharp Note:

A featureless chakram which spins through the air, letting out a sharp whistling sound despite not having holes in it to facilitate such a thing. The note it plays as it flits through the wind is the dying wail of qi and air being dragged into it's pitch black depths, along with something more.

Possible Effects: Environmental Qi drain and AP, with potential bonuses to draining Qi upon successful clashes with other Domain Weapons and Arts?

I was going to suggest something similar. Guess I have nothing I neeed to add then.

A hammer of black metal that seems to be drinking in the light, is surrounded by an aura of moonlight, and covers the area in a howling, raging storm. Its mechanical effects would be to cloak the area in darkness, and give bonus dice to wind, sound, or thunder effects, granting them the power of the storm.

Because Mjolnir beats all katanas everywhere.

Singing Blade

A long serrated dager, made from an Umbral Shard it's hilt decorated with patterns of white lotus flowers. Absolutely silent in flight, on hit victim and only victim hear melody, blade vibrate to the tune tearing deep wounds absorbing blood and Qi.

Dexterity + Expression, Darkness element, additional lethal damage, Qi draining, armor penetration and durability.

I feel that dexterity and expression is rare combination, there should be in universe reason for it also I inserted extra durabality because I remember how Meizhen broke Chu Song sword, I would prefer to play it safe.

Meizhen is trying to become more intimidating we should take example from our best friend.

A piece of shadow. It is not solid or sharp, but it drains the life from anything it touches.

The Stabbiest*: A jagged shard of darkness, unrefined and pure, with none of the additions that would make it resemble a weapon. If anything it is more ragged and brutal than the fragment it was carved from. Its edges have edges, not that they can be seen, as the weapon absorbs any light or qi that would be used to sense it.

Suggested effects: Can use stealth with the same bonuses as the wielder, extra dice if striking before the target has acted or from stealth, ap/semiperfect/damage bonuses.

* or whatever chuuni edgelord name the thread wants, but all of you know The Stabbiest is the Ling Qi-est name imaginable

e: as for why this weapon? Because we don't need domainweapon-specific arts to have synergy. This thing just needs mists and SCS and our existing low light gown.

Yue shi =
lunar eclipse 月食
musician 乐师
Even more and more 越是

Where the sound Yue can also be used in yinyue or music 音乐
and the character 乐 can also be read as le or joy.

Also I like the yinyang chakram image for a flying weapon

Like two crescent moons in a big silver moon!

Vorpal Stiletto

-A stiletto dagger, made from frozen shadow stuff. Bonuses to it's own stealth, as it attacks from ambush, or hiding in Ling Qi's shadow or clothes, coming out of nowhere. A surprise attack, or assassination weapon.

-Armor Ignore, not penetration, as it phases past armor, without damaging it's durability.

-The Armor Ignore is strong against Earth, Air, Water, Mountain, and weak against Light, Fire, Heaven.

-It's primary attack is a surprise strike, embedding itself in the target, and getting stuck in there. Once inside the flesh of the enemy, it inflicts damage every turn, as the stiletto drink from their Qi and blood and burrows deeper. As it is shadow-stuff, trying to remove it with physical force is very difficult, but it can be expelled by pouring Light or similar Qi to repel it from the wound.

-Weak in Flying Sword to Flying Sword combat, but meant to be protected from it by the body of it's victim, or by remaining hidden, and thus impossible to target, or hiding inside cover or protected by Ling Qi against AoE attacks.

Stacking damage over time, armor ignore, embeds in enemies from ambush.

Oh man. If our materials weren't riddled with edgelord deathiness and we need to up our dps, I would have loved to suggest a magic flying suona

IMAGINE THAT FLYING ALONG OUR SHOULDER TOOT TOOTING AS WE PUT JI RONG'S FACE IN THE DIRT

The Darkest Night
Very light, this razorsharp Vantablack double-edged Chakram is almost completely silent in flight, and so dark it looks like a hole in reality rather than a true material object. You are slightly worried about it as you often end-up losing track of it.

Darkness Element.
Improved Initiative.
Improved Damage Value.
Improved Armor Penetration.
Improved Damage to all offensive clashes against unaware targets.

I still just don't understand the popularity of a chakram. It is like half the suggestions so far and it makes no sense to me.
Because it's obviously symbolic of the Moon, and an actual flying weapon.

I'm also concerned that the narrative focus of a chakram is multi-target, as opposed to the single target focus of a dagger. What we really need this thing for is punching up against ridiculous tanks we couldn't otherwise hurt, so I'm more in favor of a focused weapon.

And I know there probably aren't actual mechanics supporting that, but when things get more narrative as time goes on it's hard not to see that sort of divergence in effect happening, just because it's easier to write about a Chakram bouncing around at everyone and easier to believe a Dagger snuck up and dealt a critical hit to the weak point of some huge tank.
