Forge of Destiny(Xianxia Quest)

I would like a Talisman that makes our stuff harder to dispel. Or maybe allows us to recover the Qi when our stuff is dispelled.

Changes to our Robe's description:

A many layered gown of water smooth black silk with prominent white hems and a dark blue mantle split down the center like a pair of wings and embroidered with patterns of white lotus flowers. It's train trails behind the wearer, never touching the base earth. A finely painted silk panel is affixed to the front, displaying curling vines and white petaled azalea flowers, spotted with red like drops of blood. Made by an apprentice of the Duchess Cai, and infused with a thread from the spirit Liming, it's craftsmanship is near unparalleled, though its potential still sleeps. Armor 3 4. Reduces the cost of Darkness and Water and Wind arts by 3 to a minimum of one. Provides an additional four die to defense in low light and darkness, and two under normal light. Provides a four die bonus on intimidate and stealth tests. Self Repairs. Durability 10 15
-Wings in Shadow: At the cost of three qi per turn, provides flight at the user's speed, or negates any damage from a fall of one two hundred meters or less
-Twilight Beauty: For one qi per turn, the user may reduce light levels to low within fifty meters.

I'd rather keep our current flute, as it's an item of sentimental value
If it is possible, i'd rather we continue to actually use it, rather than switch to an other flute and just keep it as a momento.

Well, yeah, I was kind of assuming it would be something like reforging it in that case.

Alternatively, I just had the amusing idea of a drum mounted on ZhenGui's back and played by slapping the snake-head against it.
Actually ... it'd be pretty cute and possibly lead to useful power application mutations if we tried to teach ZhenGui to sing

What about a necklace or headband that can give spiritual attack dice?

If necklace, fluff it as something that enhances our voice for music

Ok, so with flute a viable target to upgrade here's what I want if we choose to do this:

  • Upgrade the dice on offensive clashes
  • Upgrade the expression bonus
  • add a straight +DV on all music-based techs.
  • add +AP on all music-based techs if we don't go for +DV
  • add -qi to music-based techs, and/or increase darkness reduction.(this part is optional since we get so much reduction already)

Honestly, I would like to get something different than an upgrade to our flute.

Personally, I think that a talisman which reduces lung qi costs and has a bonus to attack for lung based techs would be extremely helpful to us. 2/3 of our most expensive techs (AE, PLR) are lung based, PLR has a clash mechanic that would be extremely powerful but is not benefited at all by our current equipment, AE could use a good buff to make it's first tech hit people.

FSS and FVM both would benefit from it and with our passives to increase the difficulty of getting rid of them, as long as they hit it will be expensive to get rid of.

It would effect FVM, FSS, AE, PLR all of which are powerful arts, and also encompass our music arts.

Meizhen said that getting our offense up is what we need to do, and this is a perfect way to get a solid boost in our offensive capability.

I would point out lung qi reduction is something that would make sense on a flute, though of course we could get a new talisman entirely.

But that would require us getting an entirely new flute, as the old flute doesn't have it. Or modifying the old flute so much that I fear the efficacy of the Lung Qi reduction would be reduced. Our current flute already has multiple aspects (darkness reduction, expression bonus, music bonus, and a tech) to add another aspect to it would be exceeding the four aspect limit, and that could cause problems.

Also would work for a necklace. Which is an empty slot.
Huh, you're right, and @Yeangst's point of us not wanting to be without our flute for the Moon quest is well taken(since that two-dice expression bonus is pretty key).

Edit: but I DO want to have the flute improved in the future, maybe with increasing the dice it gives or something

Well this is amazing. Such a generous gift. Except for the whole part of a living spirit is now possessing your dress, and come visit me twice a week so my spy on you can report in thing. That's just swell. No more privacy for us, I guess. And we can't even take it off, because it's a gift from our liege. Just bloody perfect. Oh well, we knew Orvel was in effect, it just started a bit early.

EDIT: You know, I can just imagine all the tasty, tasty info she can get on Meizhen with this. On top of getting all our cultivation locations for free.

Overall, I'd prefer to commission a new talisman rather than upgrade our flute for three reasons. First, the flute is either our second or third best talisman. Since the quality of the talisman is capped, it would be more efficient to instead swap out our lowest quality talisman for larger overall upgrade. Second, we'll probably need our flute at least to finish the moon quest, and probably for some more difficult missions. Third, if we use our bow instead of our flute, I'd prefer if our new, swanky, full upgraded talisman would still apply.
