I don't even think he had his own 'good fortune' at Zhou's test, since Jiao didn't call him out, and he's been so monofocus I doubt that he's gone anywhere else he's likely to have an encounter with anything strong enough to count, so...probably just that he mastered his Arts so quickly that Elder Su had to give him more from the Archive.

Yo. We are going to be attacked, and Suyin and Su Ling are not good straight up brawlers. Without us, they can probably dodge or hide in the wilderness as needed. Meanwhile, we should reaffirm our ties with Xiulan after last week.

L'see, Fan Yu is still / more annoyed at us and so are the rest of the disciples for picking up the archive pass.

BTW @Arkeus Nice distribution re: omake bonii. We just squeezed over I think for 2 of the arts.

@PrimalShadow We're at peak gold so I presume we're going for Early Silver next week. BTW, confirmation that Han Jian and co. still haven't broken through to Silver yet (but Han Jian has Early Yellow at least).
 
Also, really big that Crescent's Grace went to 'Instant'. With Ling Qi picking up 'Instant' art activations like that and the Shield she's got a lot less time-crunch in fights now. I was worried that fights would start becoming really long decision lists of 'what buff Art should be activated in what order'.
 
I wonder... How much SL points would we get if we offer the last Sable Light Pill to Meizhen?

Also, how many arts can we borrow from the Archive per week, @yrsillar?

Yes, Crescent Grace and Gale Shield really really help with FVM. Us and Gu Xiulan can actually be a fucking pain to big groups now.

Yeah. Natural Talent 6 is pretty crazy compared to what most people have. Natural 7 is bonker.

Natural 8 or 9 is the kind of bullshit that the very first cultivators probably had - I would seriously suspect that Talent 8 or 9 would let someone ignore a LOT of things we think are hard prerequisites because the difference between impossible and huge penalties to TN is not semantic for them.
 
I loved the discussions / interactions with the Elders by the way. Gosh, I think I'm slightly in love with Elder Su. She's just so helpful! So nice! Gives us good information and advice! Gives us nice qi pills!

CG being instant is a fantastic upgrade. So happy we got that.
 
Yeah, CG becoming instant + Shielding Gale and our character is absolutely a massive pain in the ass to pin down. We're too fast to melee, and can push you away if you close in anyway, we're hilariously evasive against other projectile attacks, and the longer we stay in play, the shittier your life becomes while our allies get more and more swole.

Like, we have so many buffs and debuffs, and our range is pretty good now too, and we have all manner of ways to defend ourselves from attack. Combined with a ranged nuker like Xiulan, we've got the foundations of a sweep team ready.

Even better though, the whole 'Come here to collect your stones' thing? Nobody can stop us from just walking in and claiming them. We can just pop Trackless Escape, walk up, collect our stones, and then leave, and the only ones who are even allowed to try and compete against us are those with sensory techniques--and those aren't common at low levels.

Especially since I suspect that the actual place where they hand you stones is part of safe zone, because it'd be disruptive for someone to start a fight right on top of the volunteer handing you your monthly allowance.

Better still, we can barter with this with other low level disciples who are worried about getting rolled. Bring a Qi Card and we can load it with Trackless Escape, and in exchange, they give us a tithe of their stones gained.

So, the archive pass are a physical thing.

I... am tempted to go with Li Suyin and Su Ling and hunt Huang Da to get his archive pass for Li Suyin. She deserves it more. Might be a better action than being with Gu Xiulan.

All for hunting Huang Da ?

No. I don't think that squad of three can take him yet - he's got FOUR autosuccess on Suyin.

And we don't know if the passes are valid if snatched.

Also we've got unlimited access and we can get arts via Sect Points.

We can use our unlimited access on US and get a few for Suyin via points.
 
@Arkeus Ahahahaa. No way. Work on our breakthroughs first, and Suyin needs to work on her own cultivation. Otherwise, getting the pass (assuming this is possible) just means Suyin is going to be targeted and be unable to defend it. She can't deal with the heat at the moment, and she didn't focus on her base cultivation during the truce.

On another note, I'm curious about Elder Su's speech. It's definitely praise for the 3 students... but I can't help but feel that the way it was phrased... Ji Rong and Huang Da both got their advantages specifically pointed out to their peers, but the way ours was phrased is vague enough - other than we have a lot of qi and we have less than 3 arts mastered, which is notable but nothing serious - that no one can pin down ours.

(Although seriously, both of them finished AS? Even AS5? That's insane.)

I feel like Su Ling and Li Suyin will be collateral damage if we do. Also, even if we do somehow take the pass from him, we can't watch Li Suyin forever and he'll just casually come by to take it back.

Ji Rong apparently has done nothing but Cultivate since he got here (And has been hinted to be the Prisoner origin, so he's got stupid Talent), and Huang Da basically walked in with most of his foundation set and could focus almost purely on Argent Soul--plus, remember, he's been sneaking the vein when he can, so he got a boost there that put him over the top.

Beyond that though, Ling Qi didn't have her 'Advantages' pointed out and her weaknesses empathized because she's remarkably well balanced. "Oh, she's technically bad at doing damage" isn't a big deal when you can control the pace of battle and only people who outclass us or are specifically specced to countering people like us can actually expect to break through our field control ability.

Beyond that, 'Mastering three Arts' but 'Only being Peak Red/Gold' doesn't mean that he's actually really strong, he might have just picked three Arts that he's Talented in from the archive for whatever reason and mastered them. We also have three Arts, but our prerequisites have been our greatest delay in developing them. I wouldn't say we're any weaker than him on the Arts field even if only one of ours is actually mastered.

I find no mention of Ji Rong having reached AS5?

Also, while Ji Rong and Huang Da had more info than us (Ji Rong's number of arts, Huang Da being at yellow and AS5) both had vague parts too.
 
On another note, I'd definitely like to do something with Meizhen this week or next. The last time we spent an AP on her was in Week 7 even if we did let her know about the vent (and she's about to get AS5 too). Maybe we can talk to her about our darkness movement art now.

@Arkeus Hrm. I thought I read Ji Rong had AS5, but guess not. It was just "other accomplishments." Never mind then.
