Don't worry guys. You're just influencing background events. I'm just shifting some plot elements for the 'anime' around that's all.

Heh. We're probably alright tbh. The breakdown was basically invisible, only Sandra and Shuri actually knew anything was wrong, for anyone else Anna was her usual taciturn self. If I had to guess the next anime episode would be one of those muted ones. To give the MC some time for introspection about the war, and the absurd scale of the conflict. Maybe Coke-zero has a conversation with his sister about the war in general?

My guesses: by voting for Single Sweep, we put the visible focus (and kouji's focus specifically) on Yukari, starting her arc.

And by going out to test stage 1 of wave force, we influence the capabilities of the upper tier aces and the development of the superweapon. Presumably stage 1 is easier to replicate by another than the whole thing.

Well, don't forget that our Flight (or at least part of it) and, presumably, the audience, just watched us eat an Antagonist.

I'm really hoping that this happened in like, the background while the camera was focused on the Protagonist. So we're just eating a Antagonist as a background event that the producers don't treat as anything out of the ordinary, so the viewers miss it for a bit, then someone points out, "Hey, guys, look here. Is it just me, or is Anna trying to devour an antagonist?"

Well, for all the viewers know that's an ordinary if atypical attack method. Plausibly it's a way of doing massive damage at close range without using either ammo or power. You'd probably also get some viewers who'd note it and then dismiss it.
'I don't know how stupid the production crew think we are, like we need more foreshadowing, seriously guys we've figured out she's a robot, no need to hit us over the head with it'

Try, but based on how the focus moved through the update, I don't think the audience "saw" that. The primary focus of the episode would be Koujiro dealing with a "real" battlefield scenario for the first time, as everything before was acclimation training for the Valkyrie Core, or "practicing" with Anna. Because Setsuna was the only one specifically noted as having seen the attempt, it actually fits as a mean to justify Setsuna acting differently to Anna "out of the blue", with the revelation of what she saw coming at the end opening up into trying to sneak around us and figure out what's going on, essentially leading up to Anna's character arc.

EDIT: Reading back through the update, there's a clear point to transition away from Setsuna to show the end of the fight from Shuri or Sandra's perspective as Setsuna had stopped fighting by that point.

I think it was mentioned earlier by avalanche that when anna starts using the testing ground that a lot of the instructors would find every excuse they could to go there and watch, if true i kinda want to see how they would react to seeing stage 1 and its implications hopefully from their pov during the testing.

I highly, highly recommend that if we notice anyone monitoring our test, that we communicate the following:
a) Warn that wave force, as we understand it, is a suicide attack. That even the first stage is extremely costly in impeller.
b) Explain the stages as we know them in our imprecise layman's terms.
c) Provide a link to a repository of our research data which would be from the next point...
d) Annotate our sensor readings and upload them to an appropriate government lab server (request one for our project?) so that others can study them and understand what they are looking at.
e) Annotate a recording of us performing the full wave force with the stages as we understand them, with a note that we are working on making the language more precise.

I belive a variety of this was brought up earlier when people suggested in the evening Anna doing club events should be a reccuring background gag.

Sasha - Valkyrie Frame Durga
So I drew this on the bus today. I would have made it through Photoshop/Illustrator, which I'm actually good with, but my laptop is being repaired and it won't be back for another week or two, so instead have my sketch of Durga-chan munching on an Antagonist.

Notes:
I copped out on the whole eating thing by making it so that it was her arm that was turning all flow-y, rather than the layer under her armour plates. If I did this digitally I probably would have went with some distorted liquid-metal kinda thing, but again, the best I can do by hand is her arm turning into I big chomp-y mouth.
I fucked up with her jetpack/thrusters by making them too bulky. At the time I did it because I realized that the HPP's were going to cover most of it up, but now it's just wound up looking like a big backpack.
All in all, it's no masterpiece, but I think I can still be proud of it when I compare it to some of my other drawings. It could have been a lot worse.

I may get around to doing a digital version at some point once I get my laptop back.

ack. wrong word. what I mean is that closing gag of many shows. "whatever it's called" ^^
Now I can't help but picture "mini-plotlines" getting thrown into those from time to time.
Like the entire bread -> cutlery sequence of events, only for the cutlery to subtly show up in the later cafeteria scenes for the more obsessive attentive viewers

Edit:
It has been theorized that it is being funded by Gilgamesh.

No one has yet been able to conclusively disprove that theory.
To be fair, gags like these could be done with chibi versions of the characters and so on.
After all, they would essentially be little more than "Anna being adorable".
On that note, there'd totally be a scene of Anna building a pillow fort. And trying to deal with showers.
Only that the last one stops being all that cute in hindsight.

I want this so much. As much as letting it having focus would be squicksome, I like this holyfuckwhatishappeningbackthere idea.

Kind of like the Tachikoma Days that'd pop up at the end of Stand Alone Complex episodes?

I see the shower scene looking like she went to take a shower, but it's cold at first and jumps out, then decided to have a bath instead.
