The whole thread right now:

With such a large overlap between the people enjoying BAHHSCQ and people enjoying Terra Invicta, it's only natural that the idea of a BAHHSCQ mod should come up again, allowing us to finally achieve one of the three great dreams of this thread: to render the epic experience of the quest that enthralled all of us so in the video game medium. (The other two being getting our own anime, and Avalanche updating.)
Ah, yes, the legendary Three Great Treasures.
Maybe one day, if we ever figure out how to implement it, a dating simulator.
Feeling bold, are we? :V
We are almost 3 years off of the last update. It's time to just let it go guys.
The longest time I've seen fic/quest be dormant and then returning to life has been 5 years. We're still far from that.

Fair warning that compared to Terra Invicta, BAHHSCQ is a very Earth-centric setting and all the action happens on the surface or within cislunar orbit. As such, the mod reflects that with most of the planned features being extensions of the game's Earth layer. This isn't planned to be a solar system colonization simulator - there are other mods doing that.
But it will have low orbit battles right? Because if not contested I would love for orbital bombardment to be a thing like in the fic.

I am quite happy at seeing this kind of update (Devlog?) regarding the Mod! I would say that I can't wait to see more but that would go against the main trait of the average Bread-fan, which is patience. I wish you luck and willpower for this titanic endeavor!

Anyways, I hope you don't mind me asking something different, but what do you guys consider your most favorite moment of the Quest? Personally I enjoyed the moment where Anna "slid" around during Lunch(?) to give Kojirou some space, and the notion that Anna is just sliding around with impeller contrasted by the other's shuffling.

I'm a fan of seeing people acknowledge her background details since we're in on her 'little secrets', so it's more spread out amongst the various times people find out she's an Ace/Vet/2LT/involved with Saskatoon. Especially the omakes that go into detail with it since sacrifice stories are my jam

I don't think I can pick an absolute favourite, but there are some that hit me emotionally:
3. When Anna sees Instructor Leonhart in her small room in the ruins of old Perth.

2. The Astronomy and Architecture Electives, and the small comments that Anna gives.
Architecture - 2/10
Wow, really nice. Amazing to see what can be built when there are no Antagonists around.
Astronomy - 2/10
The sky is clear of enemies. The stars are pretty.

1. When the flight attempts the simulation of the Alaska Invasion. This is probably the closest that the Main Duo (Kojirou and Setsuna) have gotten to real combat, and it is the full dose of D-Day and large scale warfare ("[Additional Incoming Missiles. Ten waves. 390,601 active engines. ~1,019,500 warheads total.]"). It also gives insight into several characters and their emotions, and is really good at conveying its atmosphere and the sheer scale and power of the Antagonists.

As I'm looking through the updates, I'm also remembering the pillow fort (poor Anna, hasn't turned off her impeller in years), the forum's biological system reactivation debate (that was fun to binge through) and Anna firing all 260 XHEAP missiles at once. The quest always gives its characters characterization and simultaneously does a lot of worldbuilding.

I'm not too sure about favorite, but the moment that sticks with me all this time is, surprisingly, not related to Anna at all. It's this:
>[Directive 2 is in Global effect]<
>[United Nations Central Government Directive 2: In the face of hostile forces likely to lead to mass human casualties or significant strategic losses, the UN shall assume supreme authority over all available assets in areas declared at risk. Any and all laws or restrictions upon United Nations authority are annulled]<
>[All leave is cancelled. All reserve forces are to immediately activate]<
>[All Provisional and Cadet Valkyries are to deploy to stations]<

"What the fork? We just killed that white bastard over Europe-"

Katie tapped the screen of her datapad again, then repeated her action, more insistently.

It's quite the chilling scene. Every time I come across it on a reread, I can hear that generic computer person voice gently rattling off a list of names that will go on to kill hundreds, if not thousands of people, Valks among them.

Pretty much is the quest's "Slipspace Rupture detected. Slipspace Rupture detected. Slipspace Rupture detected. Slipspace Rupture detected. Slipspace Rupture detected. Slipspace Rupture detected. Slip-" moment a la Halo Reach, I'd agree.

the forum's biological system reactivation debate (that was fun to binge through)

Not gonna lie, I do have to say that this mention reminds me that I have yet to properly read through the entirety of this thread, much to my chagrin.

I wonder if theres an archive of all the notable discussions had or a Iceberg of this thread's shenanigans and the lore.

Either way, I do have to say that it feels so obvious in hindsight that room was Leonhart's I never realized. Oh well!

Personally I too also enjoy these moments, though in a more meta perspective such as from the hypothetical audience of the hypothetical anime regarding the Anime and the "hypothetical" idea of the anime having "all the budget."

There are two scenes that I do re-read separately from rest of the story. Katie interlude and American Offense Simulation.

The number you are looking for is millions:
New pictures scrolled across the screen, a funeral under the shadow of the destroyed Elazig Hive for the one hundred and thirty six Valkyries and twelve of the Three Hundred killed by Indra during the doomed first push. Blurry pictures of the first interstellar space ship of humanity, Ark ship Noah, bisected by Abraxas at nearly a million kilometers from Earth, its terraforming tools and gene banks spilling out into the vacuum. Three shattered UN Arcologies of eastern Africa, destroyed by Aswang to result in fifty million civilian dead in just one hour.
Sure Indra, Abraxas, and Aswang predate the Type Zero Mass Emergence but that is our introduction the subject and really sets the tone for our expectations for Type Zeroes.

Sydney did nothing to change that:
Despite a fierce defence, the Arcology was declared a loss after nearly five hundred days of battle and the UN withdrew, bitterly leaving behind the funeral pyre of a million UNAF servicemen, seven hundred Valkyries and the five million remaining civilians trapped in the doomed city.
Six million dead and it was primarily down to five Type Zeroes. Herakles, Sekhmet, Raksha, and Dahaka penetrated the Arcology, while Nokomis kept Last Word too busy to stop them, before hunting down and killing the Lord Mayor which brought Sydney's Impeller fields and the local STRATNET node down which both doomed the Arcology and lead to a barely organized rout.

One that always springs to my mind is Anna visiting the baking club.
I wonder if theres an archive of all the notable discussions had or a Iceberg of this thread's shenanigans and the lore.
No archive or iceberg, but there is a summary:
Welcome to BAHHSCQ. On your left you can see geometry, on your right not-kobold riding massive Florida- and Australia-reptiles, above you a chart of how Russian PERIMETER system affects Canadian snowplow-flag industry, in front of you a manifesto about organs, the floor is nanomachines, and behind you, there's a catgirl.

I like the 'I cast bread' comment somebody made where Anna recreated Madara's big meteor scene with a loaf of bread. I specifically remember someone responding that Avalanche better post, because the thread was getting weird.

Happy to! It's a really good fic in its own right honestly. The fic is A Chrysalis Amidst Embers (Worm/Honkai Impact, Fusion), which I have found to be impressively compelling despite my having zero familiarity with one of the two elements going into the fusion, and the crossover omake is the α.1: A New Battlefield apocrypha threadmark.

The tl;dr of the premise is that after a l'il training whoopsie with the Wave Force Anna gets accidentallyed into the middle of a completely different apocalypse, immediately starts helping because she's Anna, and is almost immediately mis(?)identified as a weird new cape (with hilariously OP abilities) because the fusion is half superhero setting. Anna has no familiarity with the concept of "superheroes" because she's Anna, so she's just left wondering why her translation module says people are talking about cloaks for some reason. It's pretty fun.

I now desire more Anna, do you know of any more crossover omakes or stuff with other fics?

Less than I hoped, more than I expected. We'll talk more about that in a bit.
I've been trying to resist picking up Terra Invicta, damn you! This is a cruel and unusual assault on my willpower!

Wish I did, but alas, not so much I'm afraid. If anyone else does it would be cool to have that linked in the thread.

Calibration (BAHHSCQ/Sanctioned) Crossover

Queen Administrator is pretty sure she's been dumped into an experimental world intended to let humans overcome their design flaws and become less disgusting in general. It's working. However, she'd be a lot happier if Host's hormones stopped trying to turn QA's intellectual appreciation for a...
There's this. Sanction is an old quest where QA and Taylor switched places. Shards are fairly human in mindset and fully sapient/sentient. The cross starts with Taylor dragging QA to BAHHSCQ. Stuff happens. Also, Taylor is high as a chimney a lot.

Alivaril has abandoned the original quest long ago but makes crosses like this one based on. Check his posted threads for the others. Good reading.

If so I don't remember it.

Battle Action Harem Highschool Side Character Quest (No SV, you are the Waifu) Original

No SV, you are the WiFi. I'm pretty sure that this quest title started that rather awkward trend of No SV, you are x. Sorry. I'll fix this up later.

Under the Open Sky (CWMGQ Spinoff)

After having her mind put back together Magical Girl Summit tries to discover what she wants to be. This was interrupted when Earth was attacked by the forces of darkness. She answers the call and joins an interdimensional war. A war that appears to doom the forces of Earth no matter which side...
(Anna Sanchez, magical girl Summit, who is equally as broken as Anna Sanchez, no.1 Valkyrie, but in different ways.)

BAHHSCQ is not the deadest thing, but it's still pretty damn dead. Anyone who reads it should do it with the assumption that what there is is all there ever will be, and that even if another update comes, the story is far from a conclusion. Personally, I think what's here is worth reading even if it's all there ever will be, and I'm hopefull we'll get another update eventual (though it may take years), but I wouldn't bet anything on it.
It also worth rereading and the omakesare really good, in a way it still lives as long as people make fanfiction of it.
Man, seeing this thread still surging with so many people waiting just brings a smile and hope.

I waited 10 years for DMCV.

3 years is nothing.
I have seen deleted stories by authors that tell me they decided fanfic was against a religion, get revived when the author recovers from there mental breakdown. As others have said, hope never dies.

Other than the pillow fort scenes that have been mentioned already, one of my favorite spots has got to be that teaching snippet where the instructor pretty much went: "Yes, you and your friends could engage that very large Antagonist force with just yourselves, relying on your skill and Valk bullshit to win the day in a S1 climax worthy grinding battle. But a better solution would just be to sit tight and act as spotter/SEAD so we can lob lots of not!nukes at them."

It was a really good way IMO to show both how the rise of Valkyries didn't mean that military tactics and strategy stagnated with them as the end all be all weapon, and that no, the Valkyries are not alone in this fight since have the whole of the UN military behind them.
