Why?
Anna has the biggatons now and it doesn't make her the main character, her strength doesn't even make her happy. Being surpassed by Koujirou wouldn't make her doubt herself for not having the most power. Anna might even be pleased if Koujirou becomes powerful because that means she has protected him with her knowledge.

Also we won't capture the heart of our viewers with power alone. Each new season or episode threatens the throne of "Most Strongest". We need to be cared about because we're "Anna", not because we are the best.
Being the strongest is actually just so that we (as readers) can maintain a tinge of realism in the face of MC powers: yes, Koujirou surpassing Anna wouldn't make her jealous, but she spent eight years in a constant battle for her town, and can solo class D type zeroes almost comfortably. In the other corner, Koujirou has had his frame for a week, and is also an idiot: if he surpasses us in three years of just school, our uselessness will probably drive us into super-depression. Seriously, that'd be pathetic.

For sure, but "Dumbass Harem MC becomes the strongest ever through astonishingly contrived circumstances despite that making no sense" is tacky as shit. We should oppose it on general principle!

Exactly. This is a harem quest. The point of the MC is to be largely useless, especially compared to us. It's a story about a guy who's batting with girls desperately out of his league, and getting it in anyway.

MC's best stat should be his luck, not strength (or universe equivalent). That's our job. Mc is the bard to our barbarian.

Fixed that for you. Heck of a spelling mistake. :V

I can't believe someone could spell so badly, you might need to get some refresher lessons on that.

Maintaining superiority, or at the very least parity, to the MC in combat is important if we want to maintain agency. And maintaining agency is what allows us to advance our own desires and plotlines, and become a main character.

Since our skill gain is much, much slower than his, that means we need to put in the effort to improve continuously, otherwise he's just a few montages away from catching up. I really, really want Wave Force v2 mastered before he even starts on v1 - we ought to get v3 at about the same time if we do, near the end of Season 2, which about coincides with our deadline for becoming a spinoff MC.

When you're in the position of a head start but slower speed, time is not on your side.

I wouldn't be too fussed about it. Like, yeah, recognize it as an issue and take steps/be ready to take steps to solve it, but don't get too wound up about it. We'll make it work. One way or another.

Well, whatever happens in the end, the important thing is that the name in the history books under "first solo Type Zero kill" will always be Anna Sanchez. No matter what Koji does later, that achievement is ours, now and forever.

Also, while it's true that the main character will eventually surpass all the others, the objective here is to become the main character. If we manage that, Anna's ongoing supremacy is assured.

Just school? I stand by my theory that we're going to have to fight before our capacitors get repaired.

Well, he can't start on v1 before we write the paper on the wave force, and we need to get at least v2 and maybe more for that, so that's a given.

Be fair, we are kinda on a level where we need a handicap so the rest can mostly keep up.
... This is almost a tortoise and the hare situation, if we handicap ourselves and-or stop doing work on getting better, that tortoise is going to turn on it's jet engines.
MC has additional bullshit powers, currently Coke-Zero is MC so the deck is stacked against us.
All together, he will probably surpass our current position in a year. Depending on how much Kandle Kara is Super Robot Jesus.

EDIT: Considering we were going to do it anyway, we should start doing testing sooner rather than later.

That handicap would end soon anyway since the batteries and dynamo have 5 days and 10 days left until repaired.
Then the 60 days integration period from the medic and fabricator modules.

Unless people start saying we should break the batteries and dynamo ourselves, that's just stupid.

Keep in mind that, 8 or so episodes into the anime season of 13-26 episodes in total, our MC is only a Valkyrie Third Grade. He needs another 8 just to get to Shuri's level, and Anna is... kind of above that in the same way Shuri is above a 3rd grade Valk.

Coke Zero might eventually get to the point he can keep up with Anna not sandbagging on his best days. He's unlikely to ever get to the point he can get to the point he can keep up with Anna actually really trying to murder Antagonists under any circumstance.

Still not an excuse to not 'get gud' enough to double murder Antagonists. :p

I personally think he'll get his moments when we're either
a)wounded and tired out
b)too late to whatever fight we're in

… Someone outside the simulation room tries to talk to you.

No important information received.

You ignore them.

You walk to your room.

You enter your room.

You sleep-

XxXxXxXxXx

-you wake up.

Moments later, the alarm starts beeping. You glance sideways, surprised at its relative location and turn it off. You had fallen asleep standing upright in the middle of your room.

Before you marshal your thoughts as to consider why you did not cocoon yourself in the soft comfort of your own bed last night, another one of the disembodied messages arrives. "Reminder to Anna Sanchez. Upon waking up, bathe and clean self. Eat breakfast. Do other normal things. End message."

Essentially the same message as before. You file it away and think about the coming day.

Today was… Friday. Somehow, the thought cheers you up mildly. Your first week was about to be over, and things were going fine.

… Things were going fine, right? Somehow you feel somewhat uneasy.

You try to pin down the source of the discomfort.

Ah. That's right.

Last night.

You had left without saying goodbye to anyone. It was the first time the entire Flight worked together, too. You also skipped out on visiting your elective classes.

You'll have to make up for it today.

So, is this active memory supression or removal?
