Yeah, no. Exactly that shouldn't be done. Nowhere near or directly on the palace grounds.

We do have a secular state. We are not ordained by any gods. Our mandate isn't divine in nature.

So in that one place, we should have some proper and respectful distance from our gods.

... this will become quite complicated once we make a godling out of the Imperium.

Before I get to writing the update I feel like I have to address something about the way I view characters in ASOIAF and generally in good character driven fiction. They do not have default moral states, this one is good because s/he is the hero and that one is evil because 'he's crazy' or 'she's a bitch'. These people have reasons for the choices they make, even the most morally repugnant and if you dig down deep enough there is something understandable, maybe even something to feel sympathy for. Just to be clear that does not mean that having a reason for doing horrific acts somehow makes it OK. That way lies the domain of terrible writing.

For an example let's look at Joffrey, a character that is justifiably universally hated for what he did. Let's look at where the motivations for those actions came from for a moment. His 'father' was a drunk who exercised his royal power mostly in his arbitrary capacity to ignore the affairs of state and so he came up with the idea that to be a strong king is to wield discretionary power, strongly often violently. let's not forget the incident with the pregnant cat which while deeply disturbing certainly was not solved with a beating rather than an explanation. Even his first truly monstrous act, hiring an assassin to kill Bran was motivated by Robert saying 'the boy would be better off dead'. Joffrey was trying to please his 'father' in his own deeply warped way.

On the other side let's look at Cersei a woman driven by extreme paranoia and narcissism, an inability to even see people outside her family as anything besides enemies and tools. Yet she was pretty much the only person in Joffrey's life to give him unconditional love and affection. Is it any wonder he took after her too?

Again this does not excuse the character but it makes him something more than a cardboard cut-out of a villain that the audience can boo when he is around and cheer when he dies.
"Nobody is crazy from the inside. Nobody. There is always a reason for what people do. Even if that reason is only "To prove nobody cares."

Anyway, if you wanna hit me up for some Daemon philosophy send me a PM @DragonParadox

@Goldfish. I can't get the idea out of my head, so I've got to mention it.

Wrist mounted Launch Item launcher.
With little clips of alchemical funsies.

Nope, it's just a spell effect of Launch Item so it could be a wrist launcher or pistol sized or anything at all.

Launch Item works from your hand after all.

You have to take aiming into account, which is arguably a lot more difficult when using an item instead of casting the spell directly, since you can't direct the magic as directly.

Frankly, I have just tremendous issues with the idea of people using gloves of that spell as pseudo-crossbows. I would nail restrictions on it if my players would try to abuse it that badly.

Personally, I'm against wrist-launchers entirely, because that's pretty much an infinite wand that doesn't occupy a hand.

I forgot I quoted the below, likely you have already fixed the typos but I'll include just in case.
"Is there anyway to protect against that, utterly and without flaw?" he asks, still incensed, though now without a convenient target for his anger.

"There is, yes, the same enchantment that I have bound into the Conqueror's Crown," you motion towards the circlet of Valyrian steel, for once in its true form for it was Doran himself who gifted it to you. "However, it is not cheap even to a prince's pockets. Twenty-two thousand marks if you can find an enchanter skilled enough to forge one, and those are rare even in the great trading cities of the genies."

"I would pay it ten times over to see them both safe," Doran insists. "Find me a mage who will work those spells and I will pa

Bolton (and everyone else) has their excuse to have Mindblank items now.

I appreciate this but it was 3:30am for me, catching up.

I WON'T GO DOWN QUIETLY! FIRE AND ICE CONJOINED IN LOVE! BLUE AND RED MADE FOR EACH OTHER! PASSION AND GENTLENESS BALANCED- *SMACK!*
Today we mourn the passing of... a person. He did... probably something. He will be missed. Presumably. There's at least one person usually who does.

Blood to roots,
Flesh to fungus.

I beg to differ. Everything weaker than an Overgod can be killed or usurped.

Yes, if you have a similar level of power. Which we don't. Heralds of divinities clock in at CR 30 or higher. Actual divinites are basically Outsider Invulnerable outside of their Realms, where they can warp reality around you into a pretzel. If you want to defeat a divinity in its Realm, you need to have a Divinity of equal (greater is better) strength backing you to prevent don't feel so good endings. And even then, you'd need to destroy the Realm to have a hope of killing the God - which has a better than even chance of not working in the long run if they have enough worshippers.

Defeating a deity is so much easier done on the material plane with cultural drift and religous reform. Trying to fight them head on is stupid.

The far realms would like to have a word with you~

That's already not true, and a fantastic way to piss people off and they would have a point, we are making them, their family and their lands more vulnerable to their enemies so they can remain more vulnerable to Viserys.
Well he can have his mind blank as long as he also has monthly checkups on his castle. You know to make sure he isn't breaking any laws. This is for everyone btw

OOC: The dice just loved Rina this update, first I rolled to see if she would be intimidated into doing as Melisandre commanded, nat 20 so not only did she resist she did so without leaning on her magic and showing inherent iciness, then I did a Sense Motive to see if she would understand Melisandre, 18 before bonuses. Seeing all these I gave her something I was not expecting to have her do: a diplomacy roll, nat 20 again. The rest of the rolls were not as amazing but they were good enough that the conversation is moving in a positive manner for you.

We need to buy Rina an Ice Cream cone when we get home, she'd a good girl.

The Far Realms have divinty level power. I have no idea what the point you're trying to make is here.
Yep, wanna be a cleric of Azathoth?

Because in pathfinder you can!

Anyway. In pathfinder a baby elder god wandered into the planet and massacred hundreds of God's before being imprisoned.

If I'm not mistaken PF lore also states the other lovecraftian dieties leave golarion alone, because A the planet is worthless, and B Rovagug humiliation is hilarious and they don't want to let him out early.

Edit: @Snowfire forget all of that. Stupid errata. Stupid updates. Grrr...

Looking through Pathfinder Drugs a bit more, there are a few physical enhancers that might be worth it for our elite mooks, but mostly I noticed this: Starspore – d20PFSRD

That is, under specific circumstances, extremly useful for any group that doesn't have a caster with the appropriate spells and cheap enough that we could give each group of soldiers or Inquisition agents one ration for emergencies.

Mumia – d20PFSRD
This is nice for any non Wis-based casters in our service, the lower the level the more it matters.

Ruk Tar – d20PFSRD
Shocktroopers like it.

We can cure addiction with ease, since that only takes Remove Disease.
