It helps them in the form that we get their shit together for them. Once we have our first presence there, we can work on vassalizing the sane Salamander leaders and getting rid of the less reasonable people.
Ultimately, they can offer bribes, use magic and abuse high social skills against our people. Something that the Shaitan, Djinn, Efreeti, Marid or every other planar power can too. We didn't panic over the fact that our assets in Vialesk have to interact with Marid intrigues, so why now?
I'm not saying we should panic, just that I think Hell will on average make better tactical and strategic use of intelligence games than most other planar powers. The best we can do is take reasonable precautions and keep monitoring the situation, but I think downplaying the fact that Hell is winning because they're almost as good at information games as they are at mulching demons is a mistake.

--- THE INQUISITION AND THE FREE FORCES ---
(Forces that have no permanent assignment on a month-to-month basis - they are used by the Inquisition to keep order if not assigned to a strategic task during the turnvote)
Okay, this is mostly done.
Some SD stuff leftover to re-assign mostly because of excessive book-keeping.
The changes:
[] Less pointless book-keeping;
[] Several groups taken apart and just folden in into "Free Forces", like the groups of "Illithid war preparation" and "City of Brass attack group", since we weren't using them in even defensive capacity;
[] Pretty much every non-PC entity we don't have assigned permanently is now clearly seen in the "Inquisition/Free Forces"-section. Rejoice @Azel, @Crake, @Goldfish, maybe?
Also, @Azel plz re-threadmark this one as the "special forces"-one.
@DragonParadox, as usual, this above is the first place to look if ya are rolling for any place getting attacked or any of the people we know being assassinated.
Even if ya never do.
We have (almost) every unit ever assigned here.
I just would generally prefer if we don't fall back into old patterns where every enemy of us got hyped to be unbeatable at intrigue, so we should never, ever even bother.
Also, there's a very important distinction here: We are talking about regular ass Devils here. Just Baators equivalent of regular citizens. We are not trying to infiltrate Baators equivalent of the Inquisition. This tends to get mixed up and every Devil is often treated as being some kind of elite operative of Asmodeus.
Edit: Agree with Azel that there is no point in going too far in fear of the enemy talk. Honestly we have done pretty well for ourselves in a short amount of time. If they are such masters at everything by now someone from hell would have infiltrated the shit out of us and like stolen all the reasearchy bits of our realm.
Just because someone is good at something does not mean we can not fight back or get equally good. Now taking precautions, that's just sense.

Still think we should focus our efforts on the Plane of Fire on the Fire Whales, sure they don't have much power now, but in the years to come, they will become economic powerhouses, there's about a million Fire Whales in the Plane of Fire, a Fire Whale produce an average of 700 IM worth of gems when harvested, we take half of that, which mean a Fire Whale working with the harvesters, has a monthly income of 350 IM.
What we should be doing on the Plane of Fire, is sending people to aggressively recruit the Fire Whales, and try to get them to merge their pods into bigger pods, I don't know how big a pod can grow, before it begin to have a hard time finding enough food, but if pods of even a few hundred members are possible, then the financial might of such a pod would be substantial.
The Fire Whales are enemies of the Efreeti, they wont seek them out, but arming the Fire Whales still cause problems for the Efreeti, and recruiting them increase our income.

Yeah but money is boring loot. We want the shiny loot, or the unknown loot. Different planes loot, hell loot.
Whale loot is kinda just dull and deserves just a report on hey look our pocketbook just grew cuz we doing this whale stuff somewhere in the back with some random minions.

Whale loot is kinda just dull and deserves just a report on hey look our pocketbook just grew cuz we doing this whale stuff somewhere in the back with some random minions.
It's steady loot though, and it's a serious amount of it, we have recruited 194 whales as of yet, which give us an average income of 67900 IM a month, that's enough to create 2 CR 15 creatures in the Flesh Forge, and have some money left over, and our income from it is growing monthly, if we actively spend some actions on recruiting, we can increase that income much faster, which make Fire Whale recruiting, one of the keys to having the income, to be able to replace armies from the Flesh Forge worth millions monthly.
And the Fire Whales will be similarly rich, if we recruit even just a thousand Fire Whales, they will have 350k IM to spend a month, with that kind of money, they can begin taking their rightful place as the rulers of the Plane of Fire(with us as their eventual overlord of course.)
Can I just point out that we have an utterly ridiculous force of Aquatic creatures on the stand-by, ready to be assigned to kill shit whenever we want to?
Debatable. Again, you can invalidate an arbitrary number of critters with just one critter built against whatever they're good at. And the Illithid can also flesh craft "made to order" like we can.
Always have a flexible and adaptable team when you go against someone who can change their army list on demand.

Well, sure they'd fail on their own.
This is DnD, whichever side has less PC support tends to lose.
The Squids would probably immediately figure out a method to mass-kill fleshforged creatures if those are sent in all on their lonesome.
...Chances are they already have a few methods figured out and just waiting the chance to be used
No, the "squid city" is mostly just the sheer scale comparison.
This amount is kinda cray-cray for how little we ever used Aquatic Forces for.
Like, shit, we only ever re-assigned some of them to guard Fey of Court of the Waves.
That's it.
Like, seriously, no more assignments were given nor combat seen.

Fantastic work, @egoo. Everything about this gives me a delightfully evil joy. We'll steadily build our armies until we can directly challenge even the greatest of extraplanar powers.
Getting Amrelath too much influence in the PoF is a recipe for trouble later on. I agree that we should start taking over the Salamandar realms, but that should be part of a larger, concentrated effort, not just something that let Amrelath do alone.
Of course, we need to train Amy in the same way we trained Relath. By beating some sense into him. Like, for example, not siring a dozen half-dragon children as soon as you can kidnap noblewomen.
