Next time we get a heart tree, what about sticking a regenerate on it? Level 7? Spell sloys are low in number, versatile spellcaster or not. Just an idea.
Absolutely. The second we get access to level 7 spells we're totally doing this. ... Notably after we make Relath pay us for a new eye.

I honestly think this isn't just a case of "Festival is thrown = Lots of people die". Too many celebrations happening across the world, too much power over the world for a God to constantly exert outside of extraordinary circumstances, unlikely that an entire city can be dragged into wanton slaughter simply for getting into a festive mood.

What's more likely is a hostile party did some kind of ritual to summon some baddies and take advantage of the chaos the base-wide party caused. In which case we should find them and stop them from doing a repeat of this a month from now in a larger population center.

Probably, but could also be that it's because these are festivals specifically dedicated to Dionysus. Normal festivals, while technically in his sphere, probably don't even register, especially ones dedicated to other gods.
We don't need to know a spell to ask for it as a boon, do we?
It's more a case of the spell being a thing of rarity that we can monetize before we make a tree that has it as a constant effect.

Oh I'm up for diplp tree of tounges, hearts ease and maybe some of truth? And healing tree of hearts ease, restoration, remove curse?

Maybe those trees will actually get us3d grumble grumble.

Also, this is for the future but you know how some people like the Cloistered Maiden cleric and her othetblood buddy? But we have a mission to "humble the 7?" I'm thinking those might not be incompatible. What could be more humbling than one of the seven/an aspect of it renouncing the atrocities of another?

Just because it's a tree, doesn't mean it's easily accessible. Westhaven isn't a big trading port to begin with, being a military base (and once we control it, we'd control access). If it's done in time, we could even heal Stannis (and steal that golden leg of his).

Edit: And looking at it, Regeneration looks great for training soldiers. Eliminates non-lethal damage, fatigue and exhaustion. You can run the recruits into the ground, walk them by the tree, and do it again. I wonder what that would do for our training times.

Not easily accessible, no. But regardless, I'd still like Relath to be the first customer and for us to make him pay through the nose for the service. I completely support the idea of making a Tree of Regeneration on Westhaven after that. We're going to make that island the best military training base on the goddamn planet. :) Hell, it might end up spawning a few PCs for us.

You know, if you just tie Heart's Ease and Panacea to a Heart Tree in SD you suddenly have freed all of Vee's and Tyene's time as healers.

That means more time to do missions for us or to engage in poison and graft crafting.

... God dammit. I guess Diplomacy tree will have to wait. This is far more immediately useful for us. :(

EDIT: Okay, if we're really really lucky we'll have 54 HD worth of sacrifices (DP confirmed to me via PM that even polymorphed Maenads will count for their full original HD when sacrificed) and we'll have enough juice for three secondary effects: Heart's Ease, Panacea, and Tongues.

Diplomacy/Healing Tree here we come.

Warning: Warning
Which is why Evil gets shit done, as Good is too busy being a self-righteous little shit.

They haven't lost because the Stupid kinds of Evil defeat the Neutral and Lawful ones.

As the Sorcerer Supreme himself says, anything to avoid the Big Fire Bellow.

Man, I can absolutely live with this.

Well, 4K pages with no mods was a really good run.

Anyway, just did the math. We only need 2 Maenads for a Heart Tree, 3 for one secondary effect, 4 for two secondary effects, and 6 for three secondary effects. 9 HD for each Maenad for a total of 54 HD and every bit of worth out of the blood ritual. I really, really hope we manage to get 5 more of these things

EDIT: Unfortunately we get zero bonuses for the Maenads since they're just Monstrous Humanoids and not any kind of outsider, undead, cold-subtype, and they're certainly not willing. But on the other hand they each provide 9 HD, so I'm willing to overlook that deficiency.

Better not to do that since trying to go around the mod's ban results in further bans.

I don't think this counts as going around the ban? I'm just telling everyone that TNE's going to be unable to post for 3 days. There's nothing of any real substance actually being communicated here in regards to the quest, so I don't think this is getting around the ban in any way.

Anyway, something else:

This isn't on the front page yet, but this is our Heart Tree that's standing in our Courtyard.

Heart Tree
"A gaunt face, impossibly ancient, bone-white wood as pale as the withered flesh seen in dreams of power. Brynden Rivers, son of Aegon the Unworthy, the last of the Great Bastards just as he is the last Greenseer stares out at you with deep shadowed pits for eyes."
CL 20 Hallow Effect
Secondary Effect 1: Dimensional Anchor
Secondary Effect 2: Magic Circle Against Evil
Secondary Effect 3: Death Ward

Don't we need some wood carving skills in order to get our heart tree again? Do we need to go through the whole retraining drama once more?

There are people who reread long threads. *shrugs*

Anyway, returning to topic...

We didn't specify a magic circle against evil effect did we? That comes free with Hallow.
I actually remember DP saying we needed that. I just don't remember him saying why we needed that.

But rest assured, we didn't accidentally waste a secondary effect on our Heart Tree.

EDIT: Wait, it was for Planar Binding. Combined with Dimensional Anchor and all attached to the CL20 Hallow effect, it's a nightmare for pretty much any evil outsider we trap.

How did we carve the first tree? I'm pretty sure that the one we have has a face on it right?

Lya has Craft(Woodworking). If she can't do the carving for some reason, we can have Dany Imbue her with a Bestow Insight spell. Then Lya can use Bestow Insight to temporarily grant Viserys Craft(Woodworking), which he can use with an Imbued Divine Insight from Dany, which would allow him a +17 skill check bonus (+2 Intelligence + 15 Insight).

It's the cycle of CHEESE.

Yeah, we carved Bloodraven's face on our tree. At the time we had retrained our skills so we had a point in Woodcarving, and Lya had crafted us a tool of +5 woodcarving, but we still have the tool. And for the woodcarving, instead of having to retrain our skills and going through weeks of wasted time, we can just cast Divine Insight on Viserys when he makes the carving. It works on any single skill check.

... This works so much better. Let's please do this. :D

EDIT: Also, we should let Viserys borrow Lya's +4 headband of Intelligence for the ritual.
