Forge of Destiny(Xianxia Quest)

@PrimalShadow ZB+ is also a yin art so it is usable with Sable light pill.
Good point; edited.

Now, we probably wouldn't want to use ZB+ on a sable light week just because we are already using lots of pills for meridians, and every action we spend on anything else means a meridian action not spent getting those bonuses. I.e. ZB+/SCS/EPC can still proc Sable Light, but they don't proc the other pills we are using. This loss might be worth it to keep training EPC, which we want to push forward as fast as possible, and it miiiiiiight be worth it for SCS if we are one turn away from a breakthrough, but in most circumstances I would probably vote against using SCS that turn, and the same goes for ZB+.

Hmmm I wonder if Ji Rong has a spirit yet. There's no way for us to know of course but it occurred to me that he may not have one come tournament time, though this is rather unlikely considering Chu looking out for him.

I want to talk about rare pills for a moment.
Another thought about the rare pills.

The eightfold path is better the more rare pills we have that boost up the Imperial 8 elements. For instance, it combines exceedingly well with the Skyblood elixir (which moves successes to spiritual, not qi). This means that the more pills we can acquire and accumulate for the Eightfold Path Pill the better the pill will do. Hopefully, in this shopping trip, we can uncover level 3 pills for the Imperial 8 so that we can use them for Eightfold Path week as well.

This also means that any thieving action we do, before the eightfold path week, should be focused on pills rather than talismans or spirit stones. The more rare and exotic pills we get the better the pills will synergize with our current crop of rare pills.

For example, we know that a pill like the Eightfold Path pill exists (duh we have it). What that means, however, is that pills like the Eightfold path pill but which affect other things (like Common 5 elements, qi rolls, meridian rolls, spiritual rolls, physical rolls, etc.) might exist. They will probably be crazy hard to find, but it is possible that we may be able to find them if we look in the right place (Yan Renshu's hideout, Sun Liling's private stash of pills, Lady Cai's private stash of pills).

If we do find these pills, then a Sable light weeks power could increase dramatically (as 50% increase to qi rolls and meridian rolls for stones and pills would be bonkers). These pills are hypothetical though, so we should not wait to find these hypothetical pills before doing a good solid pill week.

I would just like us to keep in mind that with the Eightfold Path Pill the value of pills for the Imperial 8 elements are 50% more valuable, which means we should totally pilfer Sun Liling's camp for any such pills as well as Yan Renshu's hideout.

After all, Winners don't use drugs. Unless your Ling Qi, in which you buy and steal all the drugs, then use all the drugs, all at once.

It's time to rev up the drug-fueled cultivation engine that is Ling Qi.

[X]Fleeting Zephyr: An evolution of the common wind arts of the south. This branch focuses upon utility, guiding the user and their allies on fleet spring winds, granting them speed and fleetness of foot to escape or flank their foes.

So guys week 28 would be a month since Gu Xiulan said she would have us meet her cousin next month. Do we want to speculate on how that would go?

Alas, I think that with the state that Xuilan is in, she is not going to introduce us to a cousin of hers. Also, we can't communicate with her at the moment and that makes it hard for us to know where to go and what time it will be.

Maybe something can happen once the Elder's Training is over and Xuilan feels more comfortable with her skill and strength compared to others.

As to how I think it will go, I think it will be interesting trying to politely decline him because Ling Qi is not going to promise anything after the first meeting, especially with her thoughts being preoccupied with the Inner sect tournament. that is coming up.

I want to talk about rare pills for a moment.

By "rare pill", I mean anything we can't buy in the sect shop. Here is a listing of all the rare pills we currently possess, in order of how useful they are to Ling Qi:
Something quite interesting is how Yrsillar has made the inventory:
0 Starlight Elixirs
Adds 5 dice to the cultivation of combat arts. In addition use of the pill triggers a single bonus physical cultivation roll, which receives a 3 die bonus.
This strongly hints that there are ways we could get more of it, we just haven't found them yet. Possibly via CRX, possibly via Su Ling, I don't know.

While I don't think we'll manage to find such a way by the time we use the Eightfold pills, they work really nicely with those.

But Ashen Shadow Art and Earthroot are both so cool... Besides, it's not my fault I want them. Blame yrsillar for writing such awesome descriptions!

Hey @yrsillar I have some questions, some of which may already be answered.

Are the bonuses given by Zhengui going to increase approximately every time he breaks through?

Are there any general knowledge stories about Cultivators and Spirits attempting their breakthroughs together which Ling Qi knows? Any kind of benefits?

Do the ZB+ variants go into Green? Or are they all mastered in Yellow, since you mentioned that they have 5 levels and start in late gold I wasn't sure.

Do we know what stage is Heijin at?

We can't recognise mt.Tai right when it's in our face, so we didn't notice we already met him.
Clearly Mt Tai is Zhengui

Remember the Formations lesson? The good stuff are likely closely kept secrets. The common pills on the market are just the stuff everyone knows how to make. Considering that the ingredients for the more potent stuff are likely rarer or more risky to obtain(it's a genre staple that the powerful drugs are made from stuff like that of the Moon Fill, imagine if you had a pill which the key ingredient only spawns once per month, or even once a year and you have enough for four doses) and more time consuming to make.

Nobody would sell those for money. Whoever you offer those to should be close allies because of their potency, and it's how you keep them bound to you as well.

Or you could be a kooky Elder giving out their spare crap for rewards.

I'm thinking of doing my own xianxia quest. I'm either going to do it as a genre alteration of either Mage the Ascension or Exalted. Which would people prefer?

Vote here.

Eh, unfortunately none of these arts caught the imagination the way some other arts have. Ashen Shadows was *neat* - swirling clouds of ash that suck away heat and form ghostly constructs. Ice Wraith likewise - the chill of winter coating a blade and slowing down poisons. Most of the ones Ling Qi has have quite a bit of flavor (Zephyr's Breath has perhaps the least) or fun utility.

These feel like basic utilitarian options, in contrast. Perhaps because it's a relatively simple mono-element art - all of the rest Ling Qi's come across are two elements (except Sable Crescent Step, which is rather exotic in comparison).

That is kinda the point. ZB is a fairly simple utilitarian art.

As to Bungie's questions in order

1. Bonuses increse at realm breakthroughs and certain other milestones
2. Not that she knows of
3. ZB variants max out at late yellow
4. Late yellow/Silver
