I don't really see the need for the tactics report; however, we took the fleet strength report last year. Cardassian Shipbuilding is getting old, so we should take it.

Most of their enemies appear to have been various forms of space monsters and other ELE threats. And from what we've heard said enemies ... don't really exist any more.

I think knowing what the Dylaarians are up to is definitly worth a report. If they decide to be faithful henchmen the Cardassian fleet would now be fuelled by two corners of the GBZ, allowing it to surge rapidly. If they decide they would rather ditch their overlord it would hurt the Cardassian both in terms of ressources as well as in matters of reputation, lessening the threat they represent immensely.
The Dylaarian mindset also seems pretty alien, so we could really use some facts.

I'm supporting a report on Horizon posture and not the ISC, NOT because of lack of interest, but because the Horizons are more likely to be aggressive, provocative dumbasses. We need details on their diplomatic stance during negotiations with us, the kind of details that a captain's log does not provide.

I'm also voting for dropping the 'what projects are they doing' vote and trying to get information on the Dylaarian diplomatic posture and the size of the squadron the Konen sent. Those details are probably going to be more important over the next year, and harder for us to gather by other means (e.g. T'Lorel and Nash scouting out the Cardassian positions with ships).

We should be able to get Klingon Analysis II soon, and next year we won't need the Horizon or ISC reports.

I might swap out the Horizon report, actually.

Dont the Klingons have really chaotic ship building? This massive war probably only worsens that. We cant really extrapolate from the losses if we dont know much about their replacement rate.

During this war we should probably just try to guess the Klingon strength from their attitude in the war reports instead.

Dropped the ISC Diplomatic Posture Report since they have literally never had a friendly conversation with anyone other than the Federation. Adding the BoP Mark II report instead.

Edit: SWB makes a good point regarding the Dylaarians below, so switching that for Klingon Fleet strength.

So I've just caught up properly and serious wtf to the reports we're requesting.

Specific reports like these have always been trash. They give us a tiny paragraph of information and basically go "and this is what you already know". Just get the full Klingon Diplomatic Posture report if you want this information. And are we ignoring the "what we have information on" requirement again? Because we aren't going to find better information on Dylaarian Diplomatic Posture from having zero contact with any Dylaarians in the past five years. Argh. These reports are an utter waste of time.

I would also question whether we understand the Cardassian logistics system in the least, but at least we've proven to have assets in Cardassian space that might be able to find us this information.

e: And we barely up-to-date information on the size of the Yrillian fleet so what on earth is their shipbuilding report going to tell us? Only minor powers will hire Yrillian shipbuilding anyway, so that will be, who, the Sydraxians and Gretarians?

I think the Dylaarian's fleet strength is more important to know than the Konan's even if we're unsure of their diplomatic posture right now.
