Forge of Destiny(Xianxia Quest)

I think you're reading into things too far, and paradoxically not far enough, but that's not anything we're going to agree on.

The only option is compromise: maximum Mountain meridians for maximal rugged manly hugeness. And implacability and forthrightness I guess.

I think you're reading into things too far, and paradoxically not far enough, but that's not anything we're going to agree on.

The only option is compromise: maximum Mountain meridians for maximal rugged manly hugeness. And implacability and forthrightness I guess.

The basic thing I'm depending on is that 'doing a search' and the arts we walk away with aren't automatically the same. Lets say I get my theoretical Toolbox Week #1.

Lets go with a Mountain Search, a Water Search, a Fire Search, and a Wind Search.

Let say the results looks something like this.

Mountain
1. Not that good.
2. Pretty good.

Water
1. Excellent
2. Pretty good.

Fire
1. Trash
2. Must Have

Wind
1. Good
2. Decent.

The implication is we have to choose one mountain, one water, one fire, and one wind... but that's wrong. No, those are the results we found, but we can vote to actually take any art that has been revealed to us.

So we grab both of the water arts, the fire art, and the wind art. In the future when we do searches, these things are still here, still options we can pick it our needs change.

Mountain
1. Not that good.
2. Pretty good.

Fire
1. Trash

Wind
2. Decent.

Maybe we find a site that auto-cultivates Mountain and it suddenly becomes worthwhile to learn a bunch. Maybe we fight an opponent with the fire art and it's much more useful then we though. Whatever, it's still there, so the next time we do a library search... we still have all the old options while adding new.

[X] Plan A Moonless Night is Full of Stars

I'm fine with both this and Plan Haitei, but I much prefer the Suyin action, and cultivating Spiritual/getting to Mid-Silver is very tempting.

Who has omake points left? @FixerUpper and @Erebeal and @Grosstoad? Anyone else? Because if @Katreus decide to put the overflow to Physical it might be good to put a few points there as it could be enough to get Mid Silver. Well, if Plan Hatei wins.
Used mine to leg up Wits a dot, in case Ling Qi needs them on the next turn's social events.

Yeah, that's self-reinforcing for all our negative avoidance behavior. Yin, moon fickle, and winds tendency to disengage and remove itself for situations, to overcome by letting go and escaping?
Any Qi imbalance quirks supposedly won't get pronounced that fast.

Also, wind is not about not confronting stuff and escaping, but to go past obstacles without getting into confrontations. The curiosity component of wind will make sure that if there is a goal, it would be reached. Those far into the Wind probably would look for backdoors or officials that can be bribed when faced with guardians at the gate... If they are curious about whatever is beyond said gate.

Also, technically, despite the ever-changing face, Moon is actually not fickle. The Moon has a constant cycle that it follows.

I'm up for that.

Of course, I feel a little bad about using points gained for a picture of Gu Xiulan to rank up silver faster, given our last conversation on silver breakthroughs :p

Just Another Day
So I decided to have a go at writing an omake:

Just Another Day(s)

It was another tiring day, after a gruelling session with Elder Ying. As Bai Meizhen trudged walked upon the route that would take her back to her house, her cousin Cui, wrapped snugly round her neck, spoke up:

"When are you going to show more affection to the little mouse, cousin?"

"W-what? Affection? Ling Qi and I are just friends, nothing more!", Meizhen replied as she began her descent down a flight of stairs.

"Affection can be between friends too. Hsss. The little mouse is a good friend."

"… Seems like you like Ling Qi quite a lot yourself, Cui. So what brought this on? Was it the numerous rabbits Ling Qi has been bribing you with? Tsk."

Before Cui could reply, they rounded the last corner to their house. Ahead, Bai could make out faint cries of distress coming from the house. Was Ling Qi in trouble?! Fearing the worse, Bai gathered the shadows to herself and sprang forward with utmost haste. She smashed through the door rather than waste time opening it, only to find that the cries were coming from a newly born dragon-tortoise, and Ling Qi was frantically running around like a headless chicken. Upon spotting her housemate, Ling Qi immediately blurted out:

"Help, help! The egg has hatched and I have no idea what to do! Do I feed it milk? Cores? Should I clean it? Put it in water? On blankets? Ahhhhhh!!"

At that, Bai felt an all too familiar urge creep up on her. Unlike the (numerous!) previous times however, this time Bai finally gave in and brought her hand up slowly, gracefully, to meet her face.

"Only you Ling Qi, only you."

(This part is inspired by comments made by Arkeus and Kshail)

Today was a day Ling Qi decided to bring her adorable 'little' spirit beast out for a relaxing walk and some fresh air, dragging her housemate Bai Meizhen (reluctantly) along for the company. Alas, their relaxing walk was cut short by encountering some random disciples, who proceeded to gawk at the enormous spirit beast accompanying them.

"Oh my Spirits, look at that huge Tortoise! Why does that peasant get to have one!?", exclaimed random onlooker number one.

"No, I'm a turtle!"

"Wut, but you are obviously a tor-", said number two.

"Turtle!"

"No, seriously, you're a-", a third tried to argue.

"TURTLE!! BECAUSE MOMMY SAID SO!"

The whole gaggle of onlookers turned to stare at Ling Qi, who gave a sheepish smile and scratched the back of her head. All save one mousy wimpy boy who, lacking any sense of self-preservation whatsoever, attempted to press the issue.

"B-but y-"

"DO YOU WANT TO MAKE ME ANGRY?! YOU WON'T LIKE ME WHEN I'M ANGRY!!" (Fires off lots of steam and well, fire. Ground shakes)

*Several very audible gulps could be heard*

Looking at the scene in front of her, Meizhen could only sigh and facepalm, hand greeting face like an old friend.

"Only you could convince a tortoise that it is a turtle. Only y-"

"WHAT DID YOU SAY?!?!"

"Nothing!"

Really loved that, was grinning the whole way through. Can always do with more fluff and seeing Meizhen all bewildered by Qi's reality warping protagonist quirkiness was adorable.
At the beginning though, you called the Elder giving Meizhen tutelage Ling but her name's Ying.

Say, you think we can add a minor note to the Han Jian hunting action along the lines of "while hunting, keep your eyes peeled for a couple rats for Cui"? We did promise after all.

@Shadell - I'd be willing to switch to your plan form Plan Haitei, for a total two vote swing, if you add a Steady Growth Pill. There is no reason not to do it - we've got THREE physical rolls, and two of them roll over 1/3 of their successes to qi.

Sure.

Mountain, Lake
Balanced
The early form of the Sects defensive and perceptive arts. Through inner tranquility and surety of self, allows the user to defend against and dispel enemy illusions and crippling techniques as well. Through clarity of mind it allows the user to judge with world with sharp and clear eyes.

Passive Effects
-Allows training of the 'Resilience' Mastery
-Provides two dice to all tests and clashes to resist or bypass illusion effects
-Provides a one die bonus to composure and resolve tests
-Allows the user to know the cultivation stage living things within fifty meters

Serene Reflection: oo
Cost: 5 qi
Instant
The user balances and cycles their qi, expelling external influences. Dispels a single negative effect of two dots or less from the user, and grants two additional die to spiritual defenseagainst the effects caster for two turns.

Discerning Gaze: oo
Cost: 4 Qi
Channeling qi into their senses the user greatly enhances their ability to discern the truth of the world, gaining three additional dice on all perception and empathy tests for three turns, in addition if the user is under the effects of an illusion or other sense affecting technique, they receive an immediate attempt to break out of it, with a two die bonus.
Given the authors mentioned that we Si Ling and Li Suyin can learn AMA, I really think an addendum should be made to the leading plans argent vent votes to share it. The art itself only needs 20 successes to learn, which should be easy enough for the both of them particularly with the automatic 5 from the vent. The abilities and passives of it is where it really shines though, as I previously considered it in the context of human opposition, but it has arguably considerably more value when facing spirit beasts given you're more likely to face them in combat and kill them, and Suyin has been noted to have been taking gathering missions and Su Ling has always been hunting.

The passives are all generally useful, but particularly the ability to detect the cultivation level of a spirit could be live saving for either of them as it can inform you whether you should run or fight it, before you've actually engaged it and realized you're out of your depth. Serene Reflection can be of considerable help given the wide variety of abilities beasts are liable to possess and it's an instant technique, and Discerning Gaze is just generally useful with the increased dice rolls. The latters ability to automatically roll to break out of a sense affecting technique is still useful to Su Ling too, given it's not restricted to just illusions.

Allowing them to learn the technique could also mean that they have it ready should TheLastOne's idea be followed up on with the investigative mission, outside of it's all around usefulness if they're both stronger.
Say, you think we can add a minor note to the Han Jian hunting action along the lines of "while hunting, keep your eyes peeled for a couple rats for Cui"? We did promise after all.
The author clarified that it was a throw away line that doesn't need to be followed up on.

So Moon makes you have a urge to do things in a specific way.(?)
It's really hard to say what Moon would be. It might be some "flip side of the sun" kind of thing, it might be related to cycles, it's kinda in the air right now as far as I can see.

However, it is definitely very Yin, given that we very often see the Sun being the representation of Yang, and Moon Yin.
