Forge of Destiny(Xianxia Quest)

@yrsillar Is our foundation action gain the only one available in Yellow?

Also I want us to finish AS before starting Eight Phase Ceremony. We're around a third of the way there.

Yeah, we can push to Silver this turn, do our plot stuff, and maybe look for the possibility of a puppy eeeeeeeee.

Seriously, a Rank 2 Spirit Beast, on it's own, a wolf (Which has associations with the moon--at least in western mythology at least), which means if it has offspring, we might be able to bond with it at our level and have an adorable animal buddy of our own!

Hmm...

[] To ensure that none would shackle her unwillingly
[] To ensure that her wings could carry as much weight as she wished

These emphasize the wings. The first is accepting limits on her wings, that she will be shackled, but it will be to important bonds. The second is more ambitious - to be so strong that her wings carry her roots along, that her freedom is so powerful and unconstrained that it she can have both. If this was any other game, I would say the first was best, but this is Xianxia, where ambition is virtue.

I very much like the second, it's the motto of a cultivator aiming for the heavens but still concerned for her friends.

[] To ensure that any who brought harm to her roots would be punished
[] To ensure that none would dare strike at her or her roots in the first place
This is the same as the above - same message except the second is more ambitious. I don't like them quite as much, but again the second is better then the first.

Also, we got bonuses for every branch of technique we had deep investment in. We had mastered a Wind Art, and had good progress in two darkness arts. We got bonuses. We hadn't master a water art, and we only had one, so we got no water bonus.

We really need to think about opening as many meridian as we can during yellow, and learning as many different arts to the limit as we can, because the more we master, the bigger the breakthrough bonus will be between Yellow and Green. If I had know about this, I would have push even harder for us to learn more arts.

Seriously though, Rimefur Wolf, it was brought up in the opening crawl, as a problem for one thing, and it's alone--which means that something's odd.

We might be able to get a wolf puppy with an elemental affinity that fits one of ours

eeeeee.

Moon Fill also seems to be fitting the whole lunar thing we have going on too.

We should take the Job to go after the wolf then, not only could we get a wolf puppy we will be half to getting access to the 2nd floor of the archive.

Alrighty then, I would assume it is time for the thunder and brimstone to bring down wrath, but I feel that it is Li Suyin's job in the first place to do so. We need to strengthen Li Suyin to get revenge, simple as that.

To be fair, our breakthrough was probably the best we realistically could have expected with our available resources. Having so much Qi in particular was a massive bonus.

Yeah - and now we know that hurrying that stuff really *does* cost you.

We've already broken through spiritual. Physical is the one we have left. Also, prof Su straight-up told us that there wasn't any advantage to mastering AS before Silver. I think she can be trusted on that one.

Oh, hey - this is the sort of information that Su Ling and Li Suyin might find useful in their own cultivation - especially if they're planning to mostly do the "hiding out in the wilderness" thing.
Wait... so we broke through spiritual rather than the physical we'd assumed we would break through? Weird.

Sigh.

[X][Breakthrough] To ensure that none would dare strike at her or her roots in the first place
[X] Increase Intellect
[X] Help Suyin train and cultivate at the vent
[X] Breakthrough
[X] Visit the Archive
-Study Formations
[X] Look into sending some money to mother
[X] Spend some time with Gu Xiulan, to celebrate your breakthrough, and see if she might be willing to tone things down in regards to Li Suyin

I think we should definitely meet Cai Renxiang this turn, we owe her a solid.

I'll write up a plan after my raid's done.

Yeah it was. We had to break through now.

But I'm going to oppose a breakthrough to Green while we can still learn any new art or open any more medians. And I'm going to push us to learn many different elements. Talismans reward you focusing on a few, but breakthrough reward you for having a diversity. We use talismans until we outgrow them, but breakthrough bonuses are for life.

[][breakthrough] To ensure that her wings could carry as much weight as she wished

[] Wits

Leaning towards this so far. Haven't really considered actions although I'm def. thinking we should go to the meeting.

Working On Eight Phase Ceremony now is a waste. We'll lose 39 successes of progress. That's almost half of what's needed to max AS. Not to mention weeks of work.

Yeah, it's a tricky balance between breakthrough bonus and actually breaking through, and I think we managed to get the best possible with our resources without taking excessive amount of time. I think there's more weight as to the veracity of people's speculations that Huang Da's rush for Yellow after the fight with Ling Qi, Suyin, and Su Ling might have impacted his breakthrough (i.e. a weaker one than he could have gotten) though.

I'm not sure we can bind a puppy though since it's grade 2. Looks like AS4 only allows binding up to grade 1. It's possible AS5 might improve this aspect though. @Alectai

As for mental/social attribute to upgrade, I'm leaning toward Composure or Resolve, both of which, when we need them, we really need them and we're getting really slow training in them.

That's true freedom. To go wherever you may while carrying whatever you desire.

As a goal, striking back against those who hurt you seems like it fundamentally misses the point. You would want power to avoid being hurt one way or another, not to make sure that if you are hurt other people will pay for it.

That leaves three options that I think are sensible. In order from top to bottom, they are:
Freedom from unwanted restrains.
The capacity to bear greater things.
The power to dissuade enemies.

Honestly, I think the last is probably most in character for what we've seen already. In the course of this quest, Ling has been driven primarily by fear - the need to contend with adversarial peers who want tear her down and take what she values. That maps directly onto the last option.

I think that it may be "nicer" to be driven by hope rather than fear, but nevertheless I think that fear is the truer response.

Wait, a wolf spirit beast.

Can...

Can we find a puppy?
Sadly, it's T2, and we can only bind T1 right now. No puppy for us.

So - a starter plan.

[X]Plan Obligations
-[X][ethos] To ensure that her wings could carry as much weight as she wished
-[X][stat] Intelligence
-[X][X] Breakthrough to Silver (x2). If you fail on the first, default cultivate physical on the second
-[X] Go along with Meizhen to this meeting Cai Renxiang is calling.
-[X] practice with Han Jian and Crew (FVM)
-[X] Cultivate with the girls (AS)
-[X] If you're at peak gold, breakthrough Silver. Else look into sending some money to mother

Int because we're moving a bit more into the esoteric side of things, and making it easier to understand that will help us progress in it faster.

We can start working on Eight Phase Ceremony now. Think we should put that at a highish priority.

Not until we finish up Argent Soul. We can't equip or develop multiple cultivation arts at the same time, and we lose the progress to the next level if we switch.

Argent Soul is supposed to be really quite good, though, so we should quickly max it out to maintain as many of the bonuses as permanent effects as possible, then switch over to Eight Phase.

Cai, Wolf, Suyin, Breakthrough, Jian advice are all preeeeetty high on my list here, especially that wolf. Cui kicked ass

An adult is Grade 2, a puppy might be 1.

After all, we see all of the other character with spirit partners all being young ones.

Ah. Okay. Didn't know about that.

Before we decide on the wolf, we do know that we also can bond a genuine moon spirit.

Given our Moon and darkness theme, and that we have gotten the attention of a Moon goddess, I think going for the moon fill mission is a better idea.

We're looking into formations, and going to start using the archives. Int would be nice.

Hmm, also true--a lesser moon spirit could be a possible gain from the moon fill.

Lots to do, and we're shooting from the hip mostly.

It's still in the two hour no plan time.
