I am not sure if I want to pull Ainsworth out since she has done such a great job there. Also we may want to consider if we want one of the candidates for the enterprise.

She has, yeah, but mostly in terms of how aggressive she is. Her low skills at politics and diplomacy especially have shot her in the foot, and with the kitties entering the GBZ soon I want someone with actual diplomatic and political chops to manage the multiple member fleets. Initial aggression has paid off, now is the time to consolidate.

Enterprise-if Sam wants another go, I'd support giving her a second FYM.

Isn't Nash commanding one of the task forces in the Licori war? I'd think we'd be better off having her do her magic there for the next little while. The Federation just launched a preemptive war on a nearly party line vote. Mentats also seem to be as deeply embedded into their society as the Syndicate was in Orion (with the added bonus that we'll at best be an occupying force rather than working with their own government). Even without any military genius Mentats that whole situation has the potential to go very bad.
 
Sulu's an absolute no-brainer.

Sadek would be great on an EC ship being detailed to LBZ work, but that's not a option.

Kanil's bonus isn't QUITE what I'd have given her (needs some sort of stealth/evasion/disengage bonus especially after the war games) but she's my character.

I honestly think Nash has the worst ability this time. Ainsworth and Anyth seem about even but I'm not sure if I want to pull Ainsworth from her command.

So here is something important to remember. We are almost certainly sending the Courageous, not onto a 5YM, but straight to the Licori war. It'll only return to its 5YM next near. So the Courageous captain needs to be one with bonuses appropriate for leading the ship to battle. The Voshov can go to a more Explorer-focused captain. Consequently....

This is a tough choice because those bonuses are all awesome. I find myself really intrigued by the possibility of our 5YM getting backup, something we normally never see.

I don't want to appoint Nash ka'Sharren because she's in the middle of commanding a task force in a war that's just now getting hot. It seems like an awful thing to do to the Task Force she's trying to take command of.

In the end, I'm going with Rachel Ainsworth. It's a good chance to gracefully promote her out of the Gabriel Expanse so that we can put a less aggressive admiral in charge there. A reroll is damn good.

Ainsworth deserves a promotion and the GBZ is stable enough to allow for it; Sulu deserves a 5YM, though I'd've honestly preferred giving her Enterprise if possible; Sadek seems a good battle commander as Brief said.

It is fucking hilarious I voted to put Sadek in the Courageous and Sulu in the Voshev mostly to fuck with expectations -- because I know people will gravitate to putting the human in the 'human' ship and alien in the alien ship.

But it actually is a tactically sound decision.

That's a point. Sulu's bonuses are so bonkers that giving her the new ship makes sense because when she's in the Zone Sulu in a green ship is better than an elite ship without an captain bonus - she tops out at +2 with reroll on humint counterintel work.

I admit I mainly do this because I want her away from the GBZ but I also think that Nash is to "young" for the role and the others bonus is a bit underwhelming (though she is an alien which is something I would like to see).
