Lights... Camera... ACTION!!: A Hollywood Quest

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT
Hi Magoose here one of the guys helping Duke.

So we have some bad news.

The quest has been canceled as duke does not want to write it anymore.

I'm going to ask if I can take over for it, because I like this quest, and it would be a shame to kill it
TBF, Mags, you have been doing a lot of the heavylifting for the quest, so this will be in good hands. :)

To be clear to everyone, this is just me burning out on imagination of the quest, since my muse has been hitting me over the head a lot with so many different ideas that I just can't find myself too interested in this.

I'll still hang out here, though, since this still does have a sepcial place in my heart.

I'd like to thank you all for making this a wonderful experience while it lasted.

I'd also like to thank @Magoose, @Fluffy_serpent, and @Martin Noctis for doing so much to help prepare and write this quest. I couldn't have done it without you all. :D

I'll see you all around.

With so many regards, Duke William Of.

Also, as an aside, I am once again requesting the birth dates of Bruce's kids.

Mary is December 29th, 1977. Joseph and Sarah are February 21st, 1980. George is March 14th, 1983

Williams desperately wanted to play the Joker irl, and here he's our friend, I advocated for him early on when talks first started, I'll advocate for him now.

Really? I can't really find out in research if this was a role he was really gunning for or if it was just a casual interest. Well if Overmind clarifies just what we intend to do with 2000 AD comics then I'll vote for his plan.

Also I was mainly going off the consensus that many posters seemed to want Mark.

I'll mention the plan. 2000 A.D. is an anthology comci magazine hat would mainly keep its distribution in Great Britain, with hopeful plans to expand to America, though perhaps that's not as likely. The main plan is to get the rights to Judge Dredd, and from there be able to make a movie about him, perhaps expand on the other properties as well.

That's basically it though if others have any other ideas on what we can do with it later on.

I don't know if he was "gunning for it," but I do know that he was offered the role of Joker, but it was a ploy by WB to get Jack Nicholson and he was so upset by it that he refused for a while to work with WB on anything.

I don't really care who we get to play the joker. But I personally think that Marks iconic joker voice while awesome wouldn't fit with live action Mark appearance wise. It may just because I can't see him as anything but Luke Skywalker at that age and the magic of makeup would possibly fix it though. And if it does he'd be a good joker.

Robins going to get the comedic part of the the Joker down pat. and if he's able to be intentionally creepy to go along with it he'd also make an good joker.

That's my two cents.

Unless we see an opportunity beforehand I think that an attempted expansion into other countries should at the latest be timed with the release of the Judge Dredd movie to capitalize on the interest.

We should also release "omnibuses" combining several comics of the characters to get new readers up to speed.

mmm yes, that'll do.

He's about the right age for Anakin in the future.

Nepo baby for the win.

Also, weird thought, Natalie Portman-O'Brian? Get another overachiever in the family?
I don't think Joseph will be interested in acting…

Then again he's a toddler so I don't think he'll be really interested in anything other then playing and being a kid.

I'll change the Joker casting to Robin, but I'm against getting Judge Dredd at this point in time. It's just bloat and hurts Marvel's UK margins if we have another competing comic and like I said, making a movie about a different comic character, a niche one at that for this time, along with the Batman movies but no Marvel movies is going to irk a lot of Marvel comics, even with the anime and show.

I'll try to think of a decent ambitious alternative to the James Dean movies, but for now I feel we are more than comfortable on IP to create movies off of, especially with how Sega has been popping up and all the IP made from other studios and companies that we turned into our own through pitches. Plus, we still have a decent amount of stuff we have rights for but haven't put in development yet, like how Hobbit needs to be made as a movie next plan.

Joseph seems to be at his happiest in sports with lots of athletic talent. George meanwhile is starving for attention and loves to be the hero of playtime so it seems like he has the most potential for acting, and that's a pretty decent age for Anakin.

Honestly I wouldn't mind not casting Portman as Padme. Ironically, as iconic as she is in the role, I always felt like she was on the weaker side of the cast.

Fine, I guess I can agree to that, but the thing is, we have an opportunity here to get more IP's thanks to the auto-success, and though I can agree that we have many others to mine for opportunities, we should not lose the opportunity that we have in our hands either.

Heck, we could try for Corto Maltese, Maus, or perhaps FASA. If you don't like those, then we can try for others.

If we really don't want to get Judge Dread yet( which I do want) we could try for something not out yet.

For example, If they haven't been butterflied away Legend and Ghoulies come out next year. We could get distribution rights for them or get the films under our banner entirely.

Okay I thought of a decent alternative to doing Dredd which is in-character and arguably yields greater returns under the Lucsafilms investment.

[ ] Reach out to Toei Company and work up a deal to handle merchandising for their Super Sentai series through Sunset Toys. Also pay $50 million for adaptational rights to Super Sentai.

The above deal makes sense because they were partners with Marvel and worked together on Japanese Spider-Man and Marvel co-owns four of the Super Sentai seasons. With this we gain more money through Sunset doing the toys, further relations with Toei, we can make Super Sentai manga with Marvel, and when the time comes for Power Rangers there will be no copyright issues.

... I'm in. If there's even a chacne that we can also import some of the series before Power Rangers then all the better as well.

I'd still prefer Dredd but if your wanting to use Super Sentai to get Power Rangers early Magoose has warned that people might not be ready for Power Rangers. I'm not opposed to Super Sentai I'm just giving a heads up.

We could also try for Kamen Rider or Ultraman but those are less of a priority.
I said maybe on that.

Mostly because we might not be able to make things interesting like powerrangers... until people are ready for it.

And they might not be ready for it.

It's not about making Power Rangers in the 80s, it's more about securing Sentai before Bandai gets its hold on the franchise and helping our Japanese presence and influence grow with partnered management over the brand. Marvel: Japan can make manga about the Super Sentai series and Sunset will be printing money with the toys. So it'll grow in Japan, and perhaps in the late 80s we can introduce the Sentai shows on LucasTV to prepare American audiences for Power Rangers

[X] Plan The Last Batman Movie
-[X]The Joker: Who will be your Joker? Everyone else has come back, or rather, will come back, given the contracts they have. But you want to make sure the clown prince of Crime gets his moment, even if he will not be the focus of the film.
--[X] Mark Hamill
-[X]Detective on Set: So you have a vision of an investigation, and you will make a note of it. DC: 30
-[X]Robin and Batgirl: So Jodie and Tom… they have not kept up on their fitness regimen, and that is going to be a problem, given the very clear physical demands the role is going to require of them. You need to help them along with it. DC 35
-[X]Preparing for the Fights: You have planned three different fight scenes, a beginning, a middle, and final battle. You think it would be best to get everyone involved. DC: 30
-[X]Where to Go from Here: You fought a hundred men all at once and made one of the greatest car scenes ever. How the fuck are you going to top your best?
--[X]You've gotten plenty of moments to shine, try to write something cool for Robin and Batgirl to accomplish to show their strengths as heroes.
-[X]Metal Gear: THis was the game that Hideo Kojima said would change action games. He wanted it to be given the greatest thing of all time. A Bruce O'Brian play through opening night when it was released. DC: 30
-[X]The Lucasarts Projects: So time to give those Lucasarts people more projects, now that they are swimming in money.
--[X] Brawl Brothers, Mega Man, Wacky Races
-[X]Gamera: Guardian of the Universe: It was time for the Project, dubbed, by the internal Mike Eisner Team that was working with it, as Monster Hunter. It was going to be the film that broke Godzillas monopoly. DC: 30
-[X]Across America in 90 Days: This film was a weird one, but it was funny, the script that is. You just hoped it was as funny as others. DC: 35
-[X]Investing in the Future: You want to Spend some of that money you made into the company and make the whole thing better DC: ??? (Linetail what you want to invest in, and how much money you want to invest in it)
--[X] $30 million of warchest. Purcahse East of Eden and Giant from their respective holders of Disney and Universal
-[X]Importing Foreign Films: So… you may have a way to get some films showing in American Theaters. Maybe you can go to other foreign film industries and… well, ask to distribute their films. Sure many of those foreign film companies never expected an American company to distribute their films in the US… but maybe you can get money without producing them. (Linetail where you try to get films from, and if there are any specific films, line tail them below) DC: ???
--[X] United Kingdom, Virgin Films. There's an adaptation of 1984 that will be released in the fall and frustratingly it seems that the producers have completely neglected an American release. Negotiate for Lucasfilms to handle North American distribution, and Japan through Sunrise.
-[X]Mary is Having a Problem: Mary has a problem. "Daddy, I have a friend who is sad, and i don't know how to help her?" DC: ???
-[X]A Little Help from Friends: So... Steve... Uh, George. What are you guys doing, and why are you all looking at me like that? DC: 30
-[X]The Family Time: You need a night out with the family dammit! No more drama, no more work, just you and Carrie and the Kids!

I really think Mark will be a better Joker than Robin, of we want him in the movie we can have him as a starter villain before the Joker appears and all goes wrong, and also come on Batman Han Solo and Joker Like Skywalker! Just think of the memes!

What's this? Robin really wanted to play Joker? Well in that case im all for getting him the role. I want him to surprise us with an unhinged, comedic but still intimidating performance.

[X] Plan Batman 1984

Again, I'm just saying... Willem Dafoe is right there.

TFW we're just so spoiled for choices.

A part of me is imagining Bruce playing it. The most ripped Joker in existence. :V

Hey @Kaiser Chris , @overmind I know the original plan was to release Genesis games this turn but Overminds Original Pitch for Among Us is for arcades and I don't know how it'd fit for a console right now. So should we pick a different game or keep it as is?
I think it should be fine. Originally the pitch was an arcade because they had more power and memory, but since we have the suped up Genesis now, I figure the game can run in it.

Also, changing vote now:
