I really hope Fighting Fate wins. This is our only chance for Freddy to get his Fate Point back, and Natasha will get one as a bonus. Karaz-a-Karak is still holding without the gronti, but we will never get another chance to get our Fate Point back, and it's our only contingency if Freddy fails torture rolls.

Man, to any of you who lives in snowy-ier areas, mad respect. What is normally a tiny little drive to the local imaging location for an MRI for the parent turned into - I swear - nearly two hours just to get back home inching along in the snowy/icy roads. With people constantly trying to get ahead by swerving into the oncoming lane and driving as far as they could before they had to stop. Red and white lights and blue and white lights, very frustrating to be driving in the dark and cold where driving was basically inching. Bleh.

Unfortunately, Patreon remains silent still. I am aware of other similar services, but have not heard the best of things about Subcribestar, though Kofi might be a thing. We'll have to see.

Either way, I choose to try and end the night hopeful for the future, and thankful for all of your presences and support thus far.

I think I'll be closing the vote tomorrow morning sometime.

I grew up in Atlanta, I was traveling between it and in Birmingham in the winter 2014. I know exactly what you're talking about.

I get exactly what you mean. I used to work as a postal carrier, and let me tell you, the cars they gave us to work with did not handle snow very well. After an embarrassing amount of times getting stuck in the snow, I developed a sort of sixth sense for recognizing when a road is simply in an undrivable condition. Which of course pissed off the people who didn't get their mail and didn't understand why my dinky little postal van couldn't manage the same roads as their jeeps could.

I don't drive as much these days, no point in bringing a car to the city when everything is within walking (or at worst, biking, though it's always fun when the snow gets wet and sloshy only to freeze again with the bike trails from the previous day, turning into miniature rails that your bike wheel slides along on), but that sixth sense is still useful every now and then, if only for I-told-you-sos. This winter, I was with my family visiting some relatives in the countryside, my mother thought the snow wasn't that thick on the side road so told my brother to keep driving, I told them we were going to get stuck, my brother followed my mother's instructions, and wouldn't you know it, we got stuck before the rear wheels even made it onto the snow. Fun times.

Oh, and before I forget:

I don't know if you've considered Kofi, but regardless of what you do - keep hauling, torroar. This is still the best fanfic I've ever read, even if some others come close.

If we're looking to improve Frederick, Natasha, and everyone they're counting one's chances of getting off the Ark, Fighting Fate is the best gain there. A reroll for both Frederick and Natasha each day, and a fate point for each as an additional buffer is better than a modifier that's only applicable under pain/torture.

A reroll for Natasha could turn the tide in her favor against a sorceress.

Both would be better, but if only one than it should be Fighting Fate.

All the other things, the Norse dwarves, the Everpeak, the Arcane Fulcrum, Kislev...all are in tough situations. But they all have armies at their back. Frederick, Natasha and her group just have them on the Ark. They need all the help they can get.

I do feel a bit selfish kinda hogging all the benefits for our immediate party, but the dwarves kinda have the whole rest of the empire and whatever kinda crazy bonuses Magnus is rocking to bail them out. Meanwhile, considering we're not even done with the Druchii Crisis yet, and after the Druchii Crisis we're probably gonna have to get right into the John Carpenter's The Thing™ Crisis, and after THAT we're gonna have to jump into the Beastman Crisis, I feel like we're gonna get through this by the skin of our teeth even with the bonuses.

Yeah, but as I've said before, Natasha has the band of heros modifiers, of over half a dozen warriors and heros, all of whom have done incredible deeds and actions on there own, and in at least 2 cases, are almost if not at the precipus of being declared holy warriors of there respective kingdoms and religions. She has plenty of protection from all of them and there fate points that they have, then what she needs for herself as things stand right now. I know I'm not going to get all of my wishes on spreading out the ancient knowledge and tech as with the waystones, as the soul bond is going to win on that front, but that I at least can see an argument for, because the modifiers are in fact likely going to get higher the longer this goes on, or alternatively, the modifiers will stay the same, but we will get a massive boost to our existing mods and have even greater chances at coming on top then before.

There are multiple other hero units, but the druchii have their own. More of them in fact. And in a magic vs. magic fight it's either Natasha or Johanna against the priestesses and sorceresses. In such cases it'll probably just be Natasha's stats and modifiers.

Also, an additional modifier against torture will probably not be enough protection against a crit fail there. We're in this current specific predicament because of a crit fail that snowballed. Fortune/fate points give Frederick two extra chances if need be. And those two extra chances are applicable for Natasha as well regardless of whatever situation her group crit fails in. That could prevent a catastrophic failure when they really can't afford any.

The other combat situations have their own armies and pools of heroes to draw on. A lot could go wrong in any situation, but a lot could go right too.

Of all things, the situation for Frederick AND Natasha's group is the most precarious and needs the most help.

The waystones just need time and will take a lot of time regardless. Thise can wait for the 15th anniversary, anyway.

Most people clearly want the power of love to win, but its a toss up now between Ancestors and Fate, lol. Either maximizing Freddy and Nat's benefits, or giving dwarfs a bonus.

I won't be sad about either, honestly, but just love how love is everyone's focus. :D
