Also, who is all working on the tree cutting stuff?
Well, let's see...
[X] Harald will accompany His Second Favorite Njal to clear the land with Njal's kinsmen. Harald will focus on using Soil and hand tools to loosen the roots of bushes and trees, making it easier for his Giants Blooded comrades to topple them over or rip them out.
Clear the landing site first then move on to wherever the scouts identify as places for either farms or fortifications?

That's what sounds sensible to me.
[X] Deforesting with Harald and Torgarr

Njal Ulfson will be uprooting trees with the help of Harald's loosening of the soil, using his Plant Kunna to move the roots as needed if they're around large rocks and such.
So yes - land-clearing. Torgarr will use Earth Kenna to cause the land to vomit out its trees and stones (which can then be hucked elsewhere or collected as appropriate, leaving the overly large ones to his giant-blooded kin) and reshape itself when appropriate. Particularly ornery trees can get their roots reshaped out from under them.

He'll also keep an eye out for fruit trees, if there are any. He's hoping to have a chance to make fences and buildings out of living fruit trees, but he's going to need some seeds to start with to make that happen.
Agmundr is helping process the trees once they've been cut, if that counts.
...and if Liv still has her action after creating a source of fresh water for us all...
[X] (Liv Sweetwater) After creating a source of drinkable water, Liv joins the effort of clearing the land. She'll keep an eye on the terrain, looking for hills or other features that might influence the planning of a settlement. During the clearing efforts Liv will use her kunna and knowledge to break up rock formations etc.

Those are the ones I spotted, at least. I might have missed one?

It occurs to me that we probably want to have an official format for indicating what your character is doing each turn. I don't think we have one of those yet.

Namely, a Shapecrafter gets insane Paranoia (To the point where the Fates take pity on them and don't hold them to the same standards that other Norse are and even very high functioning ones are insane lunatics by modern standards), and Seeresses are beacons to Spiritual Bullshit.
Uhh... I know that Shapecrafters are always deeply messed up in the head but I didn't think it was always paranoia specifically?

Not arguing the "insane lunatics" side of things, though. That's true enough.

The highest functioning Shapecrafters we've seen tended to be maximum memetic Conspiracy Theorists. Paranoia does seem to be the general thrust of their craziness.

Horra and the whole "Everything bad that ever happens is fucking Steinarr's Fault", and Limpwrist and his literal Conspiracy Corkboard :p

If the three of you want to band together, the North doesn't have a Party yet!
I still don't think this proposed party has enough skills to be good for scouting, and in particular I don't think that Agmundr would add much to it, so he's going to stick with the ground-clearing crew for this season.

Scouts and people going off alone: finds demon eagles and giga mosquitos

Those of us deforesting: anyone else like the smell of petrichor?

Wow, no moratorium and immediate action ok. I guess I just got used to Quest style planning ^^;

Since it seems I arrived too late to join any scouting parties, I am again volunteered to watch the children. 60 is a bit much for one person though.

[X] I bring my children to the largest group of children. Find their names and keep an eye out for predators.

60 is the whole group, so maybe more like 35 children, and various adult NPCs are there with them. Ragnarr's wife would be there, for instance.

@OneArmedYeti @CoatRackRanger @mythfan12 @Sirrocco @Aabcehmu

Thanks to your wisdom in primarily using your kunna to shift and clear trees, none of you are caught when one of the trees unfurls itself in an attempt to devour you.

Good job

+Good to the settlement, land is cleared

Im game although not sure how bjorn will feel about working alongside others. Eh, he can go sit in a corner and be emo about it if he wants.
(I love the concept of Bjorn as a giant emo kid.)
[X]Bjorn Drakeslayer: Scout north.
Having done nothing to stop the mosquito, it drains you dry before waddling off.

You are dead, drained by a mosquito.

Your body is found by the land clearing crew, so you'll return in the winter.

35 Norse children in a group? I wish you well.

Something tells you that, had Kare Sky-Dancer not distracted the Void Eagle with his body, it would have been after the children. Still, having the presence of a warrior nearby the children soothes the concerns of many parents, allowing them to focus more on their work.

+Good, the children are safe... For now.

So, after the encounter with the tree-with-mouths, I suspect we should just generally assume that basically everything we do is going to have at least a moderate chance of random combat encounters. It's a good thing we're all reasonably capable fighters, I suppose!

And yeah, Gudrun and Hrolfr are going to have their work cut out for them this winter it seems.

I'm realizing, though, that we may have shot ourselves in the foot to a degree with our concentration of farmers. It's harder to look really impressive (and thus gain orthstirr) when there are three or four other people also being absurdly good at farming right next door.
