Lights... Camera... ACTION!!: A Hollywood Quest

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT
Hi Magoose here one of the guys helping Duke.

So we have some bad news.

The quest has been canceled as duke does not want to write it anymore.

I'm going to ask if I can take over for it, because I like this quest, and it would be a shame to kill it
TBF, Mags, you have been doing a lot of the heavylifting for the quest, so this will be in good hands. :)

To be clear to everyone, this is just me burning out on imagination of the quest, since my muse has been hitting me over the head a lot with so many different ideas that I just can't find myself too interested in this.

I'll still hang out here, though, since this still does have a sepcial place in my heart.

I'd like to thank you all for making this a wonderful experience while it lasted.

I'd also like to thank @Magoose, @Fluffy_serpent, and @Martin Noctis for doing so much to help prepare and write this quest. I couldn't have done it without you all. :D

I'll see you all around.

With so many regards, Duke William Of.

Can anyone help me to improve the importing foreign films and charitable heart action. You can start a convo with me.

Hmmmm........Does anyone have any idea on what to do with this? I'm completely clueless and I just don't know what Bruce would want or be into.
We could have him do the "Across America in 90 days" movie. That sounds like something fun. Or perhaps the Prince of Persia Film? I'm not exactly sure what we can do here aside from that.

Atari only and they're about to go down.

There, we can buy Atari and absorb them into the Lucas Electronic Arts Division, that way Lucas Unlimited can make Games and Consoles.

I'm thinking of creating a movie..that was originally going to be some Lazy Town x Pirates of the Caribbean movie, unfortunately Karl Stef (Robbie Rotten's Actor) is an 8 year old..but Sportacus' Actor is already active, born since 1964. Thus I'm delaying that for a long while.

There's that Cu Chulainn and the something great benefit glorious nation of Ireland I've made a while back, should allow the team and Steve to have fun.

Or..we pull something off the shelves for it, since Steve OTL was part of the making of it: The Animaniacs.

Problem is, to my recollection, Atari took the entire (american) video game industry of the day (arcades aside) with it by way of destroying audience confidence that there was such a thing as non-terrible games (well, it wasn't Just them, but still...)
It took nintendo coming in with a machine that was explicitly not a "home computer" (hence "entertainment system") and had nothing to do with the (radioactive) American videogames industry to change that and let the industry recover.

Hmm. From how things are going, i'd say the rot has already set in and things are going in a downhill fashin. The lack of quality games and consoles are already a thing, with the E.T. videogame being the last straw (or perhaps just in the wrong place at the wrong time).

I can see us following two paths; we can try and reverse the flow, gambling with our reputation on the line. it's a dangerous one, as the we might get hit with the same smear as the other games and consoles that are being made at the moment...which let's face it, are thrash, have lack of qualities, and many of them tend to be pornographic.

The second path is simple...we wait it out. We make games for Nintendo in the East, and wait until they decide to crossover and fix the perception while we keep on making games for them. We slowly buy Sega to have a team that can make Consoles, and then set ourselves as the competitor.

I'd be all for the second plan, but what do you guys think?

I'd be all for the second plan, but what do you guys think?
I'd say we go for the first one because the Famicom won't be released for another 2 years in Japan and the NES in 4 years. So as a western company focusing on develping games for a Japanees market for a Japanees company for a console that does not exist yet would be a bit wierd at this moment.

Also we have reputation for quality and high standerds, who says we can't pull the same trick as Nintendo does and call it an entertainment system or home entertainment computer with a good enough marketing campaign.

[X] Plan Imperial Oscars
-[X]The Oscars: You are going to the Oscars. DC: 0
-[X]Emerald Pimpernel: So this insane movie was going to finally release. Hopefully Francis still has the magic touch. DC: 30
-[X]The Life and Times of… Brandon Lee and Ron Howard: So you are going to stunt for them, hopefully, it will be quick. DC: 40
-[X]Rocky III's Fight: Sly is laughing at you as you read the script. "So in this world, at least, I get to beat Bruce O'Brian." He laughed. DC: 30
-[X]The Dreamworks Project… Voice stuff: So good ole Tomino wants you to do some voice lines for a few characters, something that really makes you wonder what he is planning. Actually, what are you planning Tommino? DC: 25
-[X]Mary Wants to go To Space: So Mary wants to visit ILM and see how you go to space on the Kermit Box… She's too adorable to say no to.
-[X]Friends and Bets: "Let's make a Bet Steve." You found yourself saying. "Next film you make, we have some fun with it. Or you know, other stuff." DC: 10
--[X] When we're making return of the Jedi, promise to make sure to have fun and enjoy the production process, focusing on personal fulfillment.
-[X]Skywalker Ranch: You haven't been there, so, here it is. Well, you hope that it lived up to the Hype. DC: 40
-[X]Carries Plans: Carrie walked over to the bedroom and you were surprised at what she was wearing. And she locked the door. "Come on Bruce." She said. "I have some plans." DC: ???
-[X]Hanging out with the Friends: It's been far to long since you, John and Robin hung out, so you will go out for some drinks and have some fun. DC: 45
-[X]A Well-Known Fan: So some really famous person is a fan of yours. Maybe you'll learn who they actually are. DC???
-[X]Investments: You want to invest your hard-earned cash into something that you feel will be a good return on investment. And as well as diversify your assets DC: 0 (Linetail what you wish to invest in below this action, and the amount of money you want to invest in)
--[X] $50 Million. You want to survey the Los Angeles area and try and find some good apartment complexes to purchase. Your old complex has been doing great, and can see a lot of potential in the real estate market, not to mention providing some good quality homes for local renters.
-[X]A Charitable Heart: You want to invest your newfound wealth. Maybe even save some lives while you are at it. (Linetail what you wish to invest in below this action, and the amount of money you want to donate in)
--[X] Project Lighthouse, $200 Million. You wish to do what you were denied last year and provide aid to the Cuban and Haitan refugees who arrived during the Mariel Boatlift. With Reagan in the White House and a conservative Congress, hopefully you should be able to provide aid without any federal interference, espeically now that the refugees are in America.

Go to the Oscars and hopefully we can sweep with Empire Strikes Back and Bruce gets his second Oscar. Do Emerald Pimpernel and see another successful Lucasfilms release. Check in with Brandon and Howard and help the stunt work go fine. Participate in Rocky III and have a good fight with Rocky. Do Dreamworks voice acting and have some fun with that.

Indulge in Mary's interest and help her see ILM. I'm gonna be honest, I'm still not sure on what to do with Steve so if anyone has any write-in suggestions then that's fine with me. Visit Skywalker Ranch, some nice family bonding. Check in with Carrie, likely start the buildup to Gosling #4, but I hope we don't conceive until after Return of the Jedi so we got a clear filming schedule. Hang out with Robin and John and have some nice time with friends.

Do well known fan since with all the bonuses from the omakes, we should be able to easily clear the tendency for crit fails. Look into more sources of revenue by expanding our real estate empire. Finish what we tried to start last year with the Cuban refugee aid, something which should be fine due to both a bonus and Reagan being President.

Also you may notice that he haven't been summoned by congress yet.

I decided to wait till next turn.

I'd say we go for the first one because the Famicom won't be released for another 2 years in Japan and the NES in 4 years. So as a western company focusing on develping games for a Japanees market for a Japanees company for a console that does not exist yet would be a bit wierd at this moment.

Well, our Game Companny is not set up yet. Heck, our Channel is not set up yet and we've been waiting fince last year for it to happen, and if I recall correctly it won't be ready until next year. If LucasArts follows that path, then it should be established by the time the Famicom is ready. So, there's the first problem solved.

It's true we have a reputation for high quality and high standards...in movies and TV Shows. Both industries that've had decades to establish themselves and be seen as art. Not so Videogames, as at the moment their reputation as peddlers of thrash and smut is a well deserved one in the American Market at the moment (though oddly enough not in Arcades...we might want to invest in them for the short term).

Thus, why I propose that if we're going for this kind of business that we at least do so for the company that will be the one to revitalize trust in said industry, let them do the hard work while we build good will through our games, and then set forth with a new console as a competitor.

I like it! Let's go with it.

Also, what do you think on perhaps doing a cartoon with Steve? He was the guy who came up with the idea of Animaniacs after all.

Let's do Animaniacs..not sure what you planned to put into that though.

though oddly enough not in Arcades...we might want to invest in them for the short term

There's that Arcade Game I created that can work as a collaboration with Hasbro, then I did vision Bocchi the Rock as an Arcade and Home Console game..however Arcade Version has less features.

[]Two timelines seems complicated (Mike and Dave have people who are split with that)
[Not my choice] The intention here wasn't that they were treated as two seperate timelines, but more as seperate properties in the same franchise where they could explore different thematics [Like Percy Jackson vs Magnus Chase, or Transformers and GI Joe].
[]Two timelines seems complicated (Mike and Dave have people who are split with that)
[]Dear Lord Mike... (Mike Ponsmith is the best at Tabletop rules)
[]Unknown (Unknown effect)
Fuck it, we ball!

[X] Unknown (Unknown effect)

Also, what do you think on perhaps doing a cartoon with Steve? He was the guy who came up with the idea of Animaniacs after all.

Problem with that is I don't think Animaniacs is going to exist in this timeline since Warner Bros is defunct and the main characters are representative of Warner Bros along with being mascots. If anything, Animaniacs would be a Disney property since they own the Looney Tunes and took control of Warner Bros Animation. Plus Steve, didn't get animation until the 90s and I don't know if he's been invested in Dreamworks here even though he created Dreamworks OTL.

Hmmm.....well we're working with him on Return of the Jedi next year. So maybe we can make a promise that when we make Return of the Jedi together, that we have some fun with it and enjoy ourselves during production? I don't know.

Okay everyone, sorry for double posting, but I think I got a general idea of what to post for the Steve option. Basically this write-in:

[ ] When we're making return of the Jedi, promise to make sure to have fun and enjoy the production process, focusing on personal fulfillment.

The action kind of hints that it can be something simple as that, and maybe it would help Steve where he isn't drowning under pressure and can just be his best self and enjoy his time.

Name: Bruce O'Brian

Other Classes: Archer

Class Skills
Item Construction - D | Despite being a Jack of all Trades, Bruce does not know how to create items of any magical kind.

Territory Creation - B | Bruce participated in the great Hollywood Schism, in splitting the Old and the New. Bruce is able to recreate sets that he personally took part in, say the interior of the Millenium Falcon for example.

Personal Skills
Golden Rule - D+ | Bruce is a successful actor in his life, in addition to investing in plenty of ventures in different fields under Lucas Unlimited.

Knowledge of Fighting - B+ | Bruce is one of the most well-known practitioners of the Martial Arts, with his start as a student of Bruce Lee. He learned other different forms of fighting from melee to ranged weaponry. This skill allows Caster to have intimate knowledge of all Mundane Melee and Ranged fighting.

Eye's Mind (True) - C | Bruce, in his life, actually fought multiple people during his time as a boxer that eventually became champion. He has additionally fought title duels challenged by other boxers who wanted to take him down.

An Actor's Life for Me - B+ | Bruce is the actor at the forefront of the entire change to Hollywood, with humble beginnings in his career. This skill is an evolution of charisma and presence concealment that fits more of the actor. If wearing a disguise, Bruce can pretend to be someone else convincingly.

Noble Phantasms
Never Tell Me The Odds! - A | Anti-Self | Bruce can temporarily become the characters he has played as, however the skill drains on the mana of the servant quickly depending on the long usage of particular characters.

Name: Carrie Fisher (Bride)
Class: Caster Class
Aliases: Leia Organa, The Princess of Hollywood
Alignment: Chaotic Good
Origin: Historical Records (OTL), and Lights, Camera, Action! Actor's/Hollywood Quest (ITL)

Parameters
Strength: B
Endurance: B
Agility: B
Mana: E (Never been a Magician.)
Luck: EX (Luck is Unquantifiable, for the Magoose Dice decides it.)

Knowledge of Fighting - C | Compared to Bruce, Carrie just started the art of learning how to fight, with a priority towards the melee range.

An Actor's Life for Me - B+ | Carrie is the actor at the forefront of the entire change to Hollywood, not to mention being a media darling since she was young. This skill is an evolution of charisma and presence concealment that fits more of the actor. If wearing a disguise, Carrie can pretend to be someone else convincingly.

Mental Fatigue: Bipolar - E | At times, Carrie can switch personalities from one moment to the next, thankfully the Bride version of Carrie Fisher actually had someone that cared about and for her from the get go. She still can suffer this condition at times, but it is completely negated with no chance of occurring within the presence of Bruce O'Brien.

Noble Phantasms
Aren't you a little short to be a Stormtrooper? - A | Anti-Self | This Noble Phantasm allows Carrie to transform into Princess Leia for a limited amount of time. The more this character uses the force, the more it drains on the mana.

N/A: Servant Carrie Fisher's going to become confused with her Bride counterpart, while Carrie Fisher (Bride) sees the "OTL" Timeline her other version went through.
Damn Bruce seems to be a really weak servant. Carrie too.
