Drake as in male duck. Swans are good and all, but this is a workhorse ship. It should be named after the workhorse waterfowl.

Even our "budget" cruiser takes 1/5th of UE's entire industrial capacity.
I read that as 2.2 million credits in total for a run of 10 ships. That means each ship is only 2% of the UE's entire industrial capacity.
Now I'm thinking of the magnificent FUS Ro Dah

We could also lean into horse with something that's just fun to say but too long for combat so every ship would get a nickname, like all trusty horses do.

10 in the first batch. If they prove themselves in that 5 years I could see a second run of 10 being called for quite easily.

The prototype budget. An entire run of 10 ships isn't a prototype.
This is still the relatively early days, we're not quite the resource powerhouse that is the OTL UFP. Yet.
