The issue with this is that some of them will start a fight with a knight and make this all descend into violence and one of them pisses off Abjorn. Those are both bad things I'd like to avoid if possible. Like, we do not need Abjorn and Halla having problems, nor do we need Age Seedsower cuckolding a knight. And those are just some quick examples.

I think making them swear a Felag bond/pact prevents this though?

Like fundamentally the way IF mentioned feuds makes me think that's there's going to be drama whatever selection of them we bring - we can't know what relationship each of them has with the other ones.

It's fine man, hardly the most thrilling kind of detail to begin with. Given we've got a boat, the logical thing would be to buy up trade goods and transport them by water anyway. Can we hit Jurgdby or some of the other places Tuskpuncher mentioned on the first leg our outward journey?
Absolutely, I was planning on giving you the option to stop off at Jurgdby anyways.

Also, buckle in for the long haul everyone.

and we'll have a Felag bond to keep people civil whilst we're on our expedition.
You are not a Jarl, so you will not be able to make a proper felag bond. You can still make a 'pseudo-felag' through oaths and promises and the general understanding that the rest of the ship will gang up on you—which will serve to keep things generally civil—but it's not a felag.
Ironically, Arnfinn is coming along in that plan and he's 13

It prevents them from attacking each other. Not prevents them from sleeping with random women who have nothing to do with the felag or getting annoyed...and even then you still can it just breaks the bond, everyone knows and you get outlawed. Like, it was mentioned that Abjorn might have killed Skoll, breaking the felag bond if he were there, so it doesn't stop conflict, just punishes it.

EDIT: And apparently we only get pseudo-felag bonds anyway.

It's a matter of degree. We'll definitely have some conflict, but we can try and minimize it.

Eh, fair points, yeah, you're probably right.

I think it's a little unfair to lump the younger guys in with Mr Incoming NTR Arc and Mr Voted Most Likely to be Fleeing Outlawry, though. Like, we were young once and needed others to offer us a leg up on the ladder, and we've said clearly that this is a trade mission, I think we can extend a little bit of faith and trust that they'll obey the spirit of our agreement.

That's fair. I could be convinced to add those two back in if people don't object strongly.

Looking forward to it! And yeah, that sounds good.

Hmmm, if a ship does not have a cabin, can it have a cabin boy? Deep questions for the ages...

Sounds good to me, I'll vote for it.

Thinking about it, on the other hand, they don't need to be 'as bad' to be 'a problem'. So I'm only switching if people seem to actually prefer it. Or you could vote for wrecksalot's plan, of course, which includes them.

EDIT: Wait that has Age. Never mind. Yeah, I may swap out mine. Lemme think.

Bear Bearson.

It was bound to happen.
...Heima Smiles, why the fuck is he here
Yes, what are you doing here???
Sten Other-Sten (A guy named Sten who also happens to be a smith. He's not planning on accompanying you back to Asvir)
Lol, lmao.

This is probably the worst kenning I've heard of, lol.
Age Seedsower (An exceptionally handsome man who will not be returning to Asvir, or Norway at all)
How are you not dead?

Also, no.
Halle the Hairless (A man... at least, you think they're a man. Has an unusually feminine face and overall slender appearance.)
Are you actually a woman? Is there a way to ask this without being super insulting? No, there's isn't, of course not.

Okay, as a compromise, I am now voting for both my original and a plan featuring the kids staying in. We'll see which is preferred.

Basically identical to wreckalot's but without Age because, uh, Age is a problem

-[X] Use Silver-Tongued.

Is anyone else extremely sus of Halle the hairless? -E seems like a gender neutral name ender, and they are Hairless, so we have no idea what color their hair is. Could be distant kin of ours, in which case why haven't they said anything?

I agree that Age is a problem, so we should get him out of Norway ASAP. let him go be like half a saga in the Danelaw where it won't explode in our backyard

If he causes problems while working for us, they're our problems. If he gets killed after being rejected from our crew that is very much not our problem.

Is anyone else extremely sus of Halle the hairless? -E seems like a gender neutral name ender, and they are Hairless, so we have no idea what color their hair is. Could be distant kin of ours, in which case why haven't they said anything?

I suspect that they have some sort of nonstandard gender presentation. I think the steel-grey eyes would bear a mention if they were a relative. We can check that, though.

Let's just take all of them.

Any selection of them we choose to take are almost certainly going to contain some feuds anyway...
On average, the number of feuds in a group of Norsemen increases proportionate to the square of the number of Norsemen.

Suppose that each Norseman on that list has a feud with exactly one other person on that list. If we only bring two thirds of the Norseman on the list, then for any given feud, there is a (2/3)*(2/3) chance that both Norsemen involved in that particular feud are even on the boat. Therefore, we have to deal with only 4/9 of the feuds in the overall group.

If we bring all 36 Norsemen, then we will have to deal with all the feuds in the group.

...

Also, Seedsower is probably several times more likely to have feuds than anyone else on the list, because he's the most likely to have seduced someone's sister, wife, et cetera.

Taking the rookies in should be good, this is a relatively simple way to get an assist on a Feat assuming everything doesn't catch fire, and a good chance to broaden their horizons as well.
