Is everybody as excited for the 'Getting Lost' rolls as I am?

There are many hours that you will not see land in any direction when travelling from Norway to England, it is a very real possibility for you to get lost in that stretch. Who knows what kind of things you may see in such a situation?

... So long as we don't miss the isles it should be fine?
Like, you can go in a straight line beside England and South America to arrive in the north pole, iirc.

But, just to be sure....

"Hey, Blackhand, do you have any tips for navigating on the sea? We will ask Eric as well, but it never hurts to have options...."

Maybe saying kind things or something could hint in that direction? I mean, if the captain's a woman, she obviously doesn't give a shit, so Halle might reveal this to us.

Halle might also turn out to be a long-lost cousin or something.
Well this one is easy to answer: Does Halle have red hair and eyes of steel? Then we can ask him/her the name of their father.

That sounds like Orthstirr opportunities to me!

Okay like. We are settling the Heart issue one way or another before we leave right.

oh hey, that headcanon that Eric's son Lief is actually Lief Erikson would get way more credible if Eric embarked on a disastrous sea voyage.

We have ways to find ourselves again. Flying fylgja being the most obvious. We also have basically unlimited water and probably at least one person who can make winds on command in the right direction. Which all make this less terrible than the real Norse would need to deal with.

This is a good question. @Imperial Fister do we have the opportunity to deal with the Heart dispute with Skoll before we take off? We are here in Asvir, after all.

@Imperial Fister
Could I spend my reward dice to find out which of the crew members in the winning plan is going to cause the most issues? I'm sure there's someone sus in that group that is going to be a pain in the ass

You haven't seen Skoll since you got here. Asvir's not especially large, so it's kind of odd that he's nowhere to be seen
Is it legal for Skoll to start a lawsuit against us for the Heart thing while we are on the expedition?

Do not want another Legal Shenanigans again so soon (or ever). Would prefer to just settle it one way or another.. now.

Well, we should be wary of not getting too lost.

Halla: I am sorry, can you tell me in wich direction its England?

Random Mi'kmaq: What is England?

*a long time later*

Halla: Can you tell me how to reach England?

Random Guayaná : I have no idea what are you talking abaout, who are you and why are so pale? Why are your hair red?

*even more time later*

Halla: please, please, tell me you know were England is.

Random Samurai: I don't know, but you and your crew look strong, do you wanna fight?

Man, I really hope the thing Gabriel is holding out on us is that he has a guy he wants us to kiil and not that he's planning a backstab.

What do you think it could be then?

Well, for one thing I think he's going to confess his feelings for Halla. For another I think he's not actually looking forward to going back to Wessex. His position there before he was taken was pretty bad until Lord Highwater took him on, so he has few good memories there, and while he has changed since then in ways I suspect mean he can earn respect with the edge of his blade, he hasn't really internalized that, I don't think, so he's expecting to be treated like shit again and have to take it.

He also has some inner emotional struggles going on that are doing the equivalent of playing heart-demon... and who the heck even knows what's up with his betrothed right now?

It's not conscious, so I don't think we can meaningfully use its knowledge if it does.
Everything is conscious to a greater or lesser extent. Thieves Bane had Opinions about who was allowed to wield it and expressed them, and it was just a munitions-grade plain axe. Anything bigger than a rowboat is alive enough to refuse to sail into death. Wavedancer is definitely alive even if not Realised.

I said conscious, not alive, for a reason. It's clearly alive, nut it's not very smart or very cognizant of the meanings of things and but we don't have any way to properly communicate with it one way or the other, so it's difficult to figure out what it knows or make any use of its knowledge.

Yhea, i too trought that Gabriel was going to confess to Halla.

If once we arrive to Wessex Gabriel feels bad, maybe we can offer him to stay with us? If he wants i am sure there is a place in the Valley for him. At this point the other Norsemen must have accepted his presence, so maybe we can help him buy some land (i don't know if he has money of his own) and make his own farm?
