(checks tally) Whoa, the vote to "allow" is one-sided! I thought it would be closer than this.

Though the vote on not sending any aid is pretty one sided as well.

Rule 2: Don’t Be Hateful
"Oh man how could we do such a reprehensible act" Malekith said it best in book five of the darkblade series. "He did not waste his men, he spent them, as a warlord must to achieve his aims."

These are not people, not at the moment. They are resources. Kill now, mourn later.

If they weren't a strictly sea-based slayer group I would have recommended that after the dark elf conflict is over, and obviously if they were still alive, that Long Drong Slayer's Pirates transport and maybe follow Roland along to hunt down his son for both the good of act and to find worthy deaths.

I mean, they likely still could transport him to either Kislev or Norsca after this, but not follow him along unless his son takes to sea.

Hmmm, if one of mercenary Bret pegasus knights die but their mount survives could that serve as a replacement mount @torroar? Assuming of course that actually happens during this conflict at all and rest of knights of party are good with it.

Also I'm reading up on the effects of Krell's armor and axe on TT. The gist of it is that if someone attacks Krell's armor with a magic weapon and its wearer manages to make his armor save that magic weapon's magical effects become null and it gets treated like a totally mundane weapon, in case of Durandal, a mundane great sword.
Wow that would certainly not be fun to fight against as Fred I think since having your Runefang laser sword become merely 'mundane' would really suck though might not work in practice since iirc Runefangs ignore the armor save that the makes this effect activate mechanically

Pretty much. Krell's armor's ability activates if its wearer manages to make a successful armor save, but the wearer can't take an armor save against a Runefang. Aside from that magical effect Krell's armor also confers a 4+ armor save like any suit of Chaos armor, but a Runefang would also ignore it. Effectively, on TT at least, against a Runefang Krell's armor would be worthless. It's wielder may as well not be wearing it if going up against a Runefang on TT.

Let's be frank- I think we are going to lose this battle, and I can only hope that we manage to dissuade them from litterally gutting the province by making their victory as painful as we can.

Word by word the lore description of Krell's armor and axe are as follows:

"Armour of the Barrows: The passage of the ages has strengthened rather then weakened this elaborate Chaos plate armour. Such is the aura of entropy that surrounds it that it has the power to decay the magic of enemy weapons in an insant."

"The Black Axe of Krell: When the Black Axe of Krell bites into flesh, it leaves behind jagged shards that swiftly eat their way into the victim's heart."

"Armour of the Barrows: The passage of the ages has strengthened rather then weakened this elaborate Chaos plate armour. Such is the aura of entropy that surrounds it that it has the power to decay the magic of enemy weapons in an insant."
I wonder how Urgdug's Crusher of Kings would fair against it since it is anti chaos and anti magic itself.

Well if you go by how it works on TT in order for the armor's effect to take effect its wielder needs to make his armor save. Every point of strength that an attack has past strength 3 reduces the armor save of the one hit by it by 1 point, so for example an attack with strength 6 reduces an enemy armor save by three points. So if we would go by Table Top logic provided Urgdug's attacks hit with enough strength they should be able to ignore the armor effects all together if they can reduce its wielder's armor save to zero, as can weapons that ignore armor saves all together like Runefangs.

Krell was a powerful Chaos champion of Khorne, but he wasn't an Everchosen of Chaos or Nagash himself. Krell's gear is powerful and is definitely a huge boost for Charlemagne over whatever else he was wearing previously, but it's not absolutely top tier for Warhammer.

And Urgdug is most likely way strong enough to ignore armor saves with own strength and Crusher of Kings boosting that strength even more.

Good point.

True! But that's sort of my point. Charlemagne may have Krell's armor and axe, plus his own tainted presence/power from the Dark Gods, but he's one guy. But he's capable of walking for, like, weeks without anyone even seeing him, especially if he doesn't take the main roads/paths. After the Vaults, his warband was entirely dead, his main spellcaster/magus was dead, and he was alone.

He was not, necessarily, like some Chaos Lords who are just walking wastelands, who leave burnt and hellish tainted earth behind them in vast gulfs like Archaeon or Crom might.

Charlemagne was running the most open band of Chaos Worshippers in Tilea/Estalia, and it still wasn't big enough of a deal to make the international Rumor Mill. It might not have seemed like it from Roland's/the Interlude's perspective, but Roland had/has a literal homing system thanks to his Grail Visions that are telling him precisely what direction to go in to get after his son, which pushed them to the desperation moves of sacking/razing more openly to get more resources to try and keep ahead of him and the band of Furies and their Furiosa.

All I was saying is that the wilderness is big enough that if you aren't actively sacking/raiding/razing/invading/attacking/etc. various settlements, it is possible to just sorta move through 'em without people noticing as much. And those that do, like isolated trappers/hunters/etc. are just as likely to have their disappearances blamed on it being the Great Forests of the Empire rather than specifically some raving Chaos Champion who cut them down and ate them.

I've reconsidered this post.

Remember the first interlude in which we see Charlemagne? All he talks about is how angry he is about two things, Roland having left his mother to die, and Roland leaving Charlemagne to live in penury in a Mousillon that was falling apart. That's why in the first interludes we see him at Charlemagne spends all of his time carousing and living in hedonism, either by exploting his appearance as a knight or by raiding as part of the Black Thorns, in order for him to gain the leisure and luxury he felt he had deserved but was denied to him by his father's neglect.

But what is Charlemagne going through now? His father has gotten the warband with which Charlemagne was fulfilling his hedonism killed while Charlemagne has now fallen to resorting to living like a fugitive, constantly on the run through the wilderness, too afraid to show himself somewhere populated lest he bring to himself Roland's and the locals' military's wrath against himself again as happened in the south, now apparently resorting to cannibalism while he tries to flee north so Roland won't catch him.

Charlemagne has effectively found himself reliving the penury of his youth, something which he left Bretonnia to escape, or one even worse then that, not due to his father's indifference this time, but due to his father actively acting to make it happen by hunting him down.

His humiliation and outrage must be immense. For all his power, he is once again in the position in which he was as a scared little boy in Mousillon.

[x] Allow Anna: Anna believes that she can transform the potentially useless flailing of some of the more physically disadvantaged Flagellants – not all, merely those who will potentially be of far less use in combat than their fellows – into explosive destruction. Holy martyrdom, with the help of some black powder and their endless fervor. It is a brutal thing to consider, but purely logically, may well have some merit. Allow her to continue her recruitment efforts, and it may prove of some use during the battle.

if you are fine with this modifcation like this post or something. If no one obejcts will change the plan in a hour or 2. I would say vote for the other plan that does the same stuff as this but the vote is so lopsided just gonna modify this instead

Well, best we can afford Roland is helping him get to where he wants alongside some of the best packed alcohol drinks like Bugman.

But Charlemagne seems to be really approaching Chaos Champion levels. With that axe and armor now, no way Norscans wouldnt recognized the significance of that if he travels there.
Charlegmange might end up being the next big threat. There is a non zero possibility he rallies a large army and brings in south, perhaps to Bretonnia. It will be interesting to see what Chaos God he chooses, as imo it's split between Slaneesh and Khorne from my understanding.

Also how is the Fight down south in the Karaz Ankor going against the greenskins?

Charlemagne fell into a Cult of Slaanesh, but was healed by a Nurglite that left a lasting pus-filled rotting not-wound, and later worked with devotees of Tzeentch to try and ambush and kill Roland. He's plenty angry enough to call upon Khorne as well, and has shed plenty of blood in his name.

S'why I noted in the interludes how his eyes started as the old brilliant blue he shares with Roland, became mixed with unnatural ugly purple-pink streaks, then filtered in sickly green yellow, and by the time he was looting Krell, they'd become light devouring flaming black pits.

He is a Champion of Chaos, full stop.

@torroar can you fix the Net Income and the Expenditures on the Front Page?

Expenditures should not be: 11556
Expenditures should be: 870+500+250+1250+100+100+520+260+25+10+6+1815+100+100+1000+1000+1000+450+200+500+500=10556

That's because the 1000 from trade isn't in the expenditures cost, and I screwed that up.

The new Net Income would be: 25,925 (current Total Income)-10556 (Supposed to be net income)=15369

Edit: Or wait? Is the expenditure missing a -1000 for Weisss espionage Upkeep? No, no, I don't think so, first we apply the intrigue action, then we do a second intrigue action to apply espionage upkeep? So, it should be 10556 expenditures, right? Apparently the espionage Upkeep should be applied on the first untrigue action applied to Weiss, which is now? Or is House Nassau footing the bill of espionage upkeep, and we only have trade woes?

Nice, all Knightly Orders got more numbers.
