@Boney Doesn't our personal shrine to Ranald have the painting where he edited in his daughters? :V Wouldn't that actually be introduction to Secrets?

If it were just Dhar alone that held the secrets of similar immortality why do we not see other Dhar users do the same. The closest we have are the Council of Thirteen, but those certainly die when killed.

According to some sources, no one on the modern Council of Thirteen has been replaced since the creation of the Black Pillar. There have been aspirants who've survived touching the Black Pillar and earned the right to challenge for a seat at the table, but they've all lost, and none of the original members has died to any other cause in the more than two hundred years since the Horned Rat gave them the pillar.

Given how dangerous being a Lord of Decay is, and the number of enemies they have, perhaps it does give something approaching vampire style immortality save for approved challenges....

.... it took so long to catch up with all the posts... and I'm still shook by the reveal...

Between Boney and Torroar, things are feckin lit right now

Edit; my brain is on fire and there is limited space to put it

Y'know, while it was eclipsed by Borek and Morghur, what we saw of preparations for the second Silver Road War makes me curious about what Gretel is doing in the Border Princes. Since if the goal is to prevent the coordination between the North and South territories of Bloody Spear, and potentially get the Southern half to sit out of the Mount Silverspear campaign entirely, I would bet that Gretel's job is to pull their attention away from the Silver Road and anything North of it.

Additionally, since the vote seems overwhelmingly in favor of reminding Borek of our Debt to him... When he asks why an Umgi, even one so closely aligned with the Dawi, would remember and be prepared to repay a debt to someone who was almost certainly dead or damned... That would be the perfect time to reveal to him that we've been declared by the High King himself to be a dwarf's soul in human flesh. I genuinely think it has an equal chance to either cause him to bluescreen or burst out into laughter.

So, the gods have clearly been associated with animals. Cor-Dum seems likely to have been associated with goats -- y'know, one of the few animals that Dawi herd on their own? Then Cor-Dum was horribly betrayed and wounded over and over, driven mad and despising of the civilization that had once been his domain, and gave rise to the goatmen that exist today? Which could be why the beastmen known to the Empire are the way they are, they're as much a product of Cor-Dum as the Skaven are of the Horned Rat?
It's very plausible, but that makes his identity as Khsar a bit strange - unless Boney decides to change things slightly, he is The Faceless, and strangely not associated with any animal in contrast to the rest of the pantheon.

You know, if Nehekherran Gods were originally Dawi gods from whom they ran away, it would make sense why Dawi viewed these "Umgi" as ones apart.

I think Gretel is unrelated to that- she's with the Besiegers who are in contract with Barak Varr to help secure Mad Dog Pass.

"The last you saw of me, I was embraced by the Shadowgave. And yet, you held on to enough money to repay me? As if I would someday descend from the Chaos Wastes at the head of an infernal host to demand reimbursement, and on that day you would not be found wanting? You found that notion credible enough to prepare for?"

"Yes."
They marched down the High Pass, a monstrous tide. Dwarfs they were; but no Dawi would claim kindred with them now, for their skin was covered in thick fur and thick horns sprouted from their heads. Their armour and weapons was a confusing mix; ancient runic items, covered in flith and broken apart to fit mutated frames was used alongside soddily forged of bronze and iron.

Alongside side them came other Children of Chaos; mutants, monsters, deamons cavorting and crying out. But the short folk marched in silence, in determination, eyes fixed upon their destination.

At the front of this horrid host came two; one was well known, a terrifying beacon of endless mutation. But it walked calmly and passively, so unlike it's apparent master, who was the only one of his kin to yell and shout, screaming his challenge for all the world to hear;

"WHERE IS MY WARP-DAMNED MONEY MITHILDE?!?"

With this context of the Old Gods all being closely associated with animals, the fact that there isn't an Ancestor God of Animal Husbandry/Ranching/etc becomes much more interesting. Since if such things were already heavily affiliated with the Old Gods they broke the Dawi away from, then either the Ancestor Gods didn't think the Dawi needed any guidance with that realm, or they consciously chose to distance themselves and the new culture they were creating with the Old Gods by not having one dedicated to it.

Induct her in the same way that a Dwarf would be taken on as an Apprentice, building her ties to and familiarity of the Karaz Ankor.

The Seed can't regrow extremities, just reattach them.
I think it can?
[ ] Regrowth - Ghyran, instantly restores someone to full health from any state up to and including 'recently dead'. -9 College Favours
I think it's just that it doesn't remake gilded parts, which is why Johann's gilded arm was kept.

(in any case the seed is inside one of the hands being chopped off, which is why I put it in a joke format instead of a serious one)
(though I guess we could just go ask a Jade to cast it for us)

He later nerfed it. I think because of thread speculation (similar to Substance of Shadow)

@BoneyM does the seed allow us to regrow limbs if they were chopped off?
Regrow, no. Reattach, yes.

"Oh? Have you not heard? It was my understanding everyone had heard. "
"I've been busy"
"Well, when you rescue a Karak from the Warp, the King declares you a dwarf. Sadly i haven't grown a beard yet, but im certain with time and effort our Ancestor Gods will bless me with some stubble"
