Lights... Camera... ACTION!!: A Hollywood Quest

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT
Hi Magoose here one of the guys helping Duke.

So we have some bad news.

The quest has been canceled as duke does not want to write it anymore.

I'm going to ask if I can take over for it, because I like this quest, and it would be a shame to kill it
TBF, Mags, you have been doing a lot of the heavylifting for the quest, so this will be in good hands. :)

To be clear to everyone, this is just me burning out on imagination of the quest, since my muse has been hitting me over the head a lot with so many different ideas that I just can't find myself too interested in this.

I'll still hang out here, though, since this still does have a sepcial place in my heart.

I'd like to thank you all for making this a wonderful experience while it lasted.

I'd also like to thank @Magoose, @Fluffy_serpent, and @Martin Noctis for doing so much to help prepare and write this quest. I couldn't have done it without you all. :D

I'll see you all around.

With so many regards, Duke William Of.

I think not beeing a diva is a defenite bonus for us provided we keep at it barring the little trolling and mischief we do once we become popular

We literally where trained by clint Eastwood and bruce lee, be a diva is not likely a thing, probably a "boring" guy when it comes to drugs too

[]Plan start an idea from somewhere:
[X] What cought my attention was the blend of drama and comedy, we can go from one ceane or episode dealing with a serious situation only to then turn a 180 into a absurd ceane where you can only laugh about at it.
[X]3K and 9% royaltys

What about royalty payment?

Honestly asking for a 2k salary but 8-12% royalties would probably be possible. Also ask maybe for introductions to special effects people or stunt coordinators so we can start building up behind the scenes contacts so we can hear from people other than directors about stuff we're interested in happening

[x]Plan: I wanna Be a Star
-[x]To be honest, I have never worked on Television before, and there is a possibility that I will enjoy every moment of this celluloid. But that is not a good enough answer for people like you, so I might as well make it clear then. I want to be an actor that can do everything. Provide the biggest laughs. Cries, and even make people ask themselves the questions that they know won't be answered just from watching TV. But at the end of the day, I want to work and be an actor. And this is work, as an actor.
-[x]"What I will take is the standard SAG minimum wage for an actor on screen. But in exchange, I want to have a residual Rerun check for every time the show's syndication reruns, at 5 to 10% of the Gross revenue per episode that I appear in. I have that much faith in this show. I really do. This is my way of showing it."

Ok, for comparison purposes let's look at Gary Burghoff, he started his Career by playing an unnamed character in an episode of NET Playhouse, then he got to play a named (but very minor) character that appeared briefly in only one episode of The Good Guys.

Very small league actor, no experience, cheap.

Right after that, he got the role of Cpl. 'Radar' O'Reilly in M*A*S*H. The role we just got offered.

We don't know how much he was paid, but it's worth noting that when he eventually left M*A*S*H in 1979. Warner Bros offered him a $4 million contract to tempt him. It's worth mentioning that $4 million in 1979 was a lot of money – equivalent to roughly $15 million in today's money.

But that's an attempt to keep him on the show after it was successful for 7 years. So we can understand how much we might be able to earn in later seasons.

Unfortunately we don't know how much Gary was paid in the start of the show, but we do know how much his co-star and the main character of the show, Alan Alda. Alan made $10,000 per episode during his early days on the show.

Anyone who has a speaking part in a movie or tv show will earn residuals (royalties) Alan makes approximately $1 million a year in residuals.

Furthermore, all the six main cast members (we included), earn two percent of the show's syndication revenue, which means an annual income of $20m each – just from reruns. …

So yeah we can probably try to get something like 7.5k per episode, but it is more worth it for us to increase the syndication revenue or the residuals, even at the cost of receiving a very low minimum wage like 500$ per episode.

So I suggest we negotiate to increase the syndication revenue or the residuals at the cost of immediate wage.

So would anyone care about getting aggressive and doing say... 15% of the residuals?

By default we are getting a cut of 2% from the syndication revenue

Asking to raise our cut by even 0.1% is getting a MILLION (1,000,000) more dollars annually. Just from reruns.

Raising it by 2 measly precents means we will make 40m annually.

I say we do just that.

5% means 50m annually, from reruns. It's investment, we won't see that money immediately. But it's a lot of money.

[x] Plan: I'm here for the reruns
-[x] placeholder for "what caught our attention…"
-[x] in exchange for working for the bare minimum, even doing some of the work for no money at all, I want 5% instead of the 2% of the show's syndication revenue (that we were offered because we are playing a main character)
