Lights... Camera... ACTION!!: A Hollywood Quest

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT
Hi Magoose here one of the guys helping Duke.

So we have some bad news.

The quest has been canceled as duke does not want to write it anymore.

I'm going to ask if I can take over for it, because I like this quest, and it would be a shame to kill it
TBF, Mags, you have been doing a lot of the heavylifting for the quest, so this will be in good hands. :)

To be clear to everyone, this is just me burning out on imagination of the quest, since my muse has been hitting me over the head a lot with so many different ideas that I just can't find myself too interested in this.

I'll still hang out here, though, since this still does have a sepcial place in my heart.

I'd like to thank you all for making this a wonderful experience while it lasted.

I'd also like to thank @Magoose, @Fluffy_serpent, and @Martin Noctis for doing so much to help prepare and write this quest. I couldn't have done it without you all. :D

I'll see you all around.

With so many regards, Duke William Of.

[X] Ask Clint for advice: Clint has been in the business for a long time, and he knows exactly what to do to get into the good graces of the Hollywood elite. DC 35 (His advice is evergreen, but it worked for him, and it might not work for you.)
[X] Practice martial arts: You are going to watch and try to improvise how to do such a thing. Or maybe you can find someone who is actually a practitioner who knows what the hell they are doing? DC 40 (Most people who know how to fight are either actors or stunt coordinators. There are very few private dojos in LA. and most boxing clubs are not open to an amateur who is not interested in fighting professional matches)
[X] Practice writing: You want to write something, maybe even a script. At least to learn the craft. DC 20 (You try your hand at screenwriting, and maybe get something that is worth a damn. Please note that your script quality will have a roll malus due to never trying something like this before.)
[X] Call your parents: You need to call mom and dad, see how they are doing? DC 10 (You call your parents and see what they are doing)

I just want have the chance to meet Bruce Lee and Jackie Chan before the former death.

[X] Plan: Clint's Way or Broadway
-[X] Ask Clint for advice: Clint has been in the business for a long time, and he knows exactly what to do to get into the good graces of the Hollywood elite. DC 35 (His advice is evergreen, but it worked for him, and it might not work for you.)
-[X] Ask Clint if you can act in a movie of his: You know you hate yourself for doing this, but you are going to ask Clint for some help, see if he can give you a role. DC 80 (Clint may be helping you, but not enough to give you a role in one of his films, or risk his reputation on getting you into a movie without some assurance.)
-[X] Register in a theater: There is quite a few theater troops that are looking for some seasonal help for some play's that the regulars could not get to. Perhaps you can work there for a while. DC 60 (Everyone wants to be famous here in Hollywood.)
-[X] Call your parents: You need to call mom and dad, see how they are doing? DC 10 (You call your parents and see what they are doing)

We can't pass up this opportunity to become connected in the business. Clint might be able to guide us in the right direction, if he's unwilling to land us a spot in one of his gigs. If all else fails, we have a bonus to landing roles and many famous actors are classically trained theater performers. We also should keep our parents in the loop, too, since they're stellar and deserve to know what's going on.

[X] Plan: Get a good bod!

[X] Do auditions(Movies and TV Shows): You are going to go to some of the casting calls that are in the place that you can find work in. DC 20(Possibility of only getting a commercial or TV show job, or an extra work in a low budget film)

[X] Exercise: A healthy body is an active body, as your father would say. So you are going to try and get into real shape, so you can do the real stunts. DC 20 (After all, you are a growing boy, and need to work off that energy.)

[X] Register in a theater: There is quite a few theater troops that are looking for some seasonal help for some play's that the regulars could not get to. Perhaps you can work there for a while. DC 60 (Everyone wants to be famous here in Hollywood.)

@Magoose I know your a big part of this quest and all but I would really rather not split the characters direction 3 different ways the only reason I picked up this quest is because it said actor quest not another producer quest

now that doesn't mean that I wouldn't wanna do stuff like script writing but I really don't wanna spend all our actions not being an actor

again I wouldn't mind be against being like a PA for some movies to start are career with.

but even if I'm not nearly involved with this quest as you are

I want to focus on acting and I can't be the only one.

so is your goal to become the ultimate Scriptwriter/Director/Musician/Actor or am I just reading this wrong and you still have the intention of mainly being an actor.

Mainly actor. You can do all that stuff you mentioned, but this Quest;s MC is indeed focused on being an actor.
Plus you might have to pull a Stallone, Eastwood and others…

To save your career or to start it.

Remember Stallone is living in his car right now and wouldn't have his big Break until he wrote and starred in Rocky.

Just saying that being multitalented in the film business will save the acting career.

Plus I'm a huge fan of Stallone and am using it as reference

I'm all right with Magoose's plan as long as we eventually do stuff like exercise, ask Clint for advice and practice Martial Arts

my dream for this quest is to be in old martial arts movies, some horrors like Jaws or Halloween, Crime flicks like The Godfather and Scarface, maybe some westerns I mean we know Clint fucken Eastwood, maybe do some romance.

overall like Magoose's plan says make our selves if not a household name make it so whenever you hear our name you vaguely feel like you've heard it before and when you see a picture of us you go "oh yea that guy"

maybe that's not a lofty goal but I think it's a good one

As my colleagues already said, don't worry so much, it's an actor's quest and it will stay that way

writing scripts and directing are simple extras that will come into play on rare occasions and those rare occasions (most) will not be until you are practically the Leonardo di caprio of your time (basically until you are a very important actor)

but, thank you for your concern and personally I will be attentive to it....

now since Magoose's plan is probably gonna win how about some ideas for a script

who's up for a john wick styled western by that I mean immaculate Choreography, stunning set pieces, banging tunes and a simple narrative to carry our protag from gunfight to gunfight, with a very specific style of camera work

To make a john wick film like the one you described it would require the Steady Camera.

Plus us becoming a master of a martial art, a lot of weapon training, and the people of HOllywood willing to fund such a crazy clusterfuck.

That camera would not be invented until Rocky. which will not be made until 6 years from now.

Edit:

Bruce lee maybe able to get us to that level of martial arts mastery...

But there is no way in hell that a Hollywood studio would fund, what I can greatly describe as a modern blood opera.

There is no profit in that yet.

hhmm I'm fine with waiting by then hopefully our career would take off and we could star in our own movie like you've been wanting
I'm not saying that the entire thing is impossible for the 70's... but to make it right, it would be very difficult.
