Hmm. Next turn we should bring into the fold one elven house and one order.
No.

Next turn we need to talk to a few of the elf houses and wards.

[ ] Spend time assisting or ingratiating yourself with someone else: specify who and how.

this is not like the colleges or the rune smiths where mathy has enough in character knowledge to start with the right people.

We don't know shit about these people, we first need to find out what they are like and what kind of things they might want before going to the deal table.

[X] Middenland, to see how the Ulricans are going with their new Eonir coreligionists.
[X] Pay a visit to your fief, to see if anything has changed. It probably hasn't.

It gets really weird when you go back that far because a lot of it involves people inventing things that aren't usually thought of as needing inventing, like acting or songs or history.
It's funny to think about the fact that these things were somehow inconceivable, right until someone invented them at which point it became impossible not to think of them.
Like, even if it was independently invented a lot of times, the hammer had to be invented at some point.

The hammer, like the axe or the knife was probably invented before modern humans and our complex vocalizations .

I really do think this should be higher, we have an invested interest in how this is going and I want to know if there is problems earlier then later.

My view on this is that there's a Lord Magister on the ground in Middenheim who should be aware of this as we briefed her, and if there're likely to be issues the Celestials who are part of her branch college are well placed to foresee them.

While it is a theory that could be worth investigating, it might be better to do so in ways that won't get Mathilde's heart carved out on a shadowy altar if it turns out to be false. Loec is not a nice God. Loec is the patron of Nagarythe's guerrilla torture-assassins and Athel Loren's troupe of innovative artists who have combined breakdance with murder. Loec is the God that dunks on Slaanesh. Loec is the God that caused a demigod genocide. Loec is the God that Dragons do not fuck with.
…You know, everything I learn about Loec just makes me hope he really is Ranald even more. :V
Real Life's lore is weird.
Hey, at least we didn't have GW making it. :V
Respect for the old lady who called down four gods at once and saved our ass. Fair enough.

Also coming back to Laurelorn with you is the latest round of reports from the EIC and the Hochlander, including the breaking ground of the blackpowder factory in Wurtbad. You didn't foresee any problems with this and none materialized - Nuln does sometimes object to anywhere else getting in on the business of firepower, but they're not silly enough to try that when the factory is being built in the capital of a province currently at war. The rest of the business of the EIC seems to be ticking along nicely, but you are seeing some new city names pop up, most of them in southern Middenheim. Perhaps a natural development from the existing presence in Altdorf and Talabecland, but perhaps Wilhelmina is expecting you to create new trading opportunities for her to jump upon. Perhaps she'd be right.
Is this supposed to be southern Middenheim or southern Middenland? I'm assuming southern Middenland personally. Specifically the towns running alongside the River Taub branching off from the Talabec, which includes Eldagsen, Bad Hohne, Holtdorf, Unterguard and ending at Grimminhagen. This is assuming that the expansion is running along Talabecland and the Old Forest Road, which would make sense considering the EIC's connections running along the Old Dwarf Road.

If the expansion is running along Altdorf territory, then I would expect it to focus on Delberz and the surrounding towns leading to it. Either way this expansion is alleviating a lot of my concerns about the EIC's lack of reach in the northern provinces. Wilhelmina seems to be taking advantage over Talabecland and Ostermark fighting over the River Stir and the Eastern sections of the Empire to expand northwards along the riverine sections of Middenland. There's less competition here than Altdorf and I assume Wilhelmina would be quite happy to corner the market on the Empire's new trade allies, the Eonir.
