Voted best in category in the Users' Choice awards.
For people who are voting to visit our friends in Stirland, keep in mind that although it will not be in as much focus, there will still be visiting if we go pick up our snekjuice.
I can only speak for myself, but that lack of focus is why I'm still voting for visiting friends.

In-universe, this would be the best time to visit, given that Mathilde will probably be too busy to do so once normal turns begin and she's up to her hat in Spy work, research, and cat human herding. Out of universe, I just want a Stirlandian palate cleanser to this Dwarf business before we get back to it.

This is certainly a fair argument, and visiting is pretty tempting to me as well. I'd just prefer that we don't take both visiting and picking up our stuff, because I think that scouting the other peaks is something we really shouldn't put off any longer.

Honestly, given our mix of internal and external spymastering - I think checking out the status of the Empire and figuring out where things stand with regards to, say, availability of reinforcements for a push on another peak, or the organization and advertisement of the Ind/Cathay trade route, falls entirely within our duties.

So, I'd be perfectly happy to vote for meeting up more seriously once full turns start if we don't talk to them now.

[X] Remain in Karak Eight Peaks, either in the employ of Belegar or pursuing your research.
[X] Give them away...
- [X] To the Amber College
[X] Claim the site where Ranald mugged Mork and build a shrine to Ranald there.
[X] King Belegar is allowing you to use the King's Armoury. Recover your extant study materials from Stirland and tuck them away safely in there.
[X] All this time away has made you miss your friends, and you'll be practically next door in Altdorf. Visit Anton and Wilhelmina.

I'm a bit confused why there was both "dictating a paper" and "writing a paper" rolls? I mean, I thought the "Dictating a Paper" would be the rolls for Mathilde getting others to write it, but... then there were actual paper-writing rolls. I guess those Dictating a Paper rolls were for Mathilde to try to coordinate everybody's paper-writing efforts and put things together, before getting down to writing a paper about it all?
Getting information out of your head and on to paper is an art form. Sometimes things go much better with someone to bounce things off of so they can point out things confusing the reader ahead of time... which lets you know where to go first. Oral versus written exam.
That is not what happened... WH is in grimdark territory for much of it... instead of being in the realm of anime memes its more in the realm of English teacher memes... which means they are only happy is almost everyone involved is completely miserable unless they are evil and exist to cause suffering. Seriously, I read a book in third grade called, 'Socks the Cat' that was about the adventures of a cute kitten. For some insane reason at one point some psycho randomly stuffs the kitten into a metal mailbox on a hot sunny day for hours. Its written from the kitten's perspective of suffering. English teacher approved reading folks.

So anime doesn't really apply narratively... also if it did apply it would be to the one salvagable member of the species that then has to Quest to recover some of the race from darkness. Thats mostly shonen though. 'Berserk' exists and its English teacher approved.
But what if we shot it with a strategic-weapon-tier pink laser cannon?
Shooting things with Slanneshi colored energy beams isn't really going to help unchaos things... also that brings us into Gundam territory where pink energy beams and explosisions tend to be colored like true evil and suffering... so kind of a Slaneshi/Vegamite duel venture... so not redemption beams. Before you bring up spaceships of techno magical girls... the planet has a warpstone belt from the explodiated moon.

Well...yeah, actually. Especially given we would have access to a gyrocopter pad under our purview as a spymaster.

A fair point. I won't be voting for it myself, but if the trend holds and scouting wins I'll be content with it.

Also a fair point, though given how long some things have remained relatively untouched *cough*snekjuice*cough* I'm skeptical if doing so would ever win in the face of more pressing matters, or those closer to home in K8P. Still, something to keep in mind for the future.

[x] You've been out of touch for a while. Linger in Altdorf after you visit the College and catch up with what's been happening in the Empire.

In the likely event that we stay at K8P, would we be able to set up a correspondence with Anton and Wilhelmina?

Quite honestly, his next move is either going to be securing Karagril, or securing the Underway. Securing Karagril secures one of the most important nexuses by which the Greenskins can attack him overland without going through the Caldera, as well as creating a buffer Karag between Karag Lhune and the enemy.

However, I believe his next move is going to be securing the underway. We've broken the Greenskin organized resistance to the reclamation, and as such the greatest threat is Skaven interference in the Karak. Be securing the Underway, King Belegar will secure avenues of attack by which the Skaven can attack, while also allowing easier travel for troops and supplies underground. Traveling underground is a powerful benefit for troops and supplies (as long as the Underway is secured) because it means that it will be difficult for any enemies to track them.
Agree with your point, also it would be wise for him to put a word out that he got open job posting for Private Military Contractors, especially of the ranger kind.

As proven in the last adventure, special forces in the right place and time can turn meatgrinder into victory.

Edited for compliance sake.

I feel like it makes sense that it's the WAAAGH papaer that failed because that stuff just doesn't make sense, and putting it in words when is such an experiential thing is difficult.
She have to think like a greenskin, and putting down on paper.

Not simple at all.

For the third time in a row, we're struggling to fit our 4 most desired actions into a mere 3 action slots. That's the sign of a good vote. I think?

We took our eyes off Anton for a moment, and he found a dragon rider that came with a free book deal. I want to know what he's been up to.

It's only been 3 months. Plus, we'll have gyrocopter access.

As proven in the last adventure, special forces in the right place and time can turn meatgrinder into victory. Also poison and biological warfare is not taboo against the greenskins
Hey. This kind of thinking that glorifies dehumanizing them has gotten this thread whacked before. Can we not advocate biological warfare against them and get it locked again?

You're right, poison should be considered a valid tactic against everybody in a world like Warhammer, no need to discriminate based on the colour of their skin.

That said, the premier users of bioweapons as we understand them are Skaven and the followers of Nurgle, both of whom are gross and also not viable allies.

If we broaden the definition, then either the orcs or the lizardmen are the most wildly successful biological weapons in existence so I doubt anything we could pull would down either of them.

Both of them are green though... perhaps there's something to it :V

[X] Though your future relationship with the spiders is still unknown, they do appear to be a new species and you do have a number of corpses available. Have Esbern and Seija help you autopsy the creatures for a paper.

By default she'll make a report of the happenings of the Expedition and the current condition of Karak Eight Peaks. Geopolitical insight will only be given if the option to betray the confidences of her newfound friends is selected.

You cannot redeem a creature that has been sworn to chaos longer than human civilization has existed just by punching it until it becomes your friend.

But can we though?

I suppose if one were to appeal to base desire, scouting could also get us more Dwarf Favor.

Only if Orcs and Goblins are the same ones created by the Old Ones in 40k, which is certainly quite plausible but open to interpretation.

Besides, I doubt we can get a bioweapon to work on them.
What do you classify the Black Lotus poison as if not a bioweapon?

On an entirely different note does anyone know why, in a world were the Dwarfs had airships three thousand years ago, people travel across horrifically inhospitable wastes to reach Ind and Cathy on foot? Seems like it would be vastly saner to put an airfleet together. Lots of money to be made with even a moderately safe and reliable trade link.

I figure that's because the capacity to make and more importantly to use air ships has been much reduced with the decline of the Karaz Ankor. If they don't have the resources for it, which would be on point for Warhammer as it currently stands, that'd cover why they don't.

Well if one actually takes the novel interpretation of gyros being invented during the War of the Beard, well for obvious reasons they were a bit busy at first. Than a short time later they were busy for obvious but slightly different reasons (Time of Reckoning)

It just wasn't important for a long time.

No fueling stations on the way, and the Darklands are enormous and full of things that can still take you down.

That being said, Dwarfs had colonies even in the fucking Southlands, they still got around. It's just that airships are really fragile against interceptor flyers, fuel is limited with no supply on the way, and the last leg has an orc stronghold and they probably have wyvern riders to rip you from the skies.
