I think I have figured out my issue with Vebs wording... I just can't write it out well on my phone keyboard.

Tiny keyboard: [

But what will happen to Cabinet-chan after she too, is forgotten for actual people?
Will she be holed up with Warehouse-kun, sparking a romance between them born from our actions!?

These are the questions we should be asking.

Well, while furniture has mostly been supportive of us, it has occasionally been really unhelpful and obstructive.

But furniture is not a good conversationalist, so we shouldn't waste time.
You wouldn't be a good conversationalist either, if no one ever talked to you. The furniture can't learn how to hold a conversation if we never converse with it, you know!

They say we'd make a terrible empress. Maybe. Maybe... But we're also one of the only candidates with proven support for furniture rights. Sayaka is clearly out of the running. Hitomi, nada. Madoka has a house full of chairs, but they're there as nothing more than showpieces, never given a chance to do anything. Yuki treats the furnishing demographic as expendable tools. Even Mami (glorious as she is) hasn't demonstrated much past the common laying on of hands.

Adding other channels and email. Vote is getting a bit big, but I feel like the ratio of action-to-vote is relatively low; @Firnagzen Size/density ok?

-[x] In particular, is the continued existence of the Tokyo political situation a goal or a non-goal?
-[x] What information should you focus on obtaining to guide future efforts? Toschimichi's power is obvious, but who should you try to talk to and what scuttlebutt should you go digging for?
-[x] Observation: The meguca rotation might be so Toshimichi can have time to work on people in isolation.

[x] TO THE INTERNETS

-[x] Check email. Set up new-mail notifications, just in case.

-[x] Check back in with #nyantokanyaru.
--[x] Ask about their local politics. With a grief controller acting as a force multiplier for a Clear Seed, you might want to get one to them sooner rather than later so they can share it around.
--[x] Also, Mitakihara has infinite cleansing and can accept refugees.
--[x] Talk Walpy. You are assembling an army. Even if they don't want to fight, it'd be great to have a grief controller with a clear seed to staff the trauma ward.
--[x] Ask if they know anything about the Iowa group. You're pretty sure they'll be gunning for you and you intend to do unto them before they do unto you.

-[x] #milesgloriosus and other channels as time and attention permit. Standard routine:
--[x] Introduce self, you're sending out feelers internationally, you have true cleansing, you want to help, share contact info, etc.
--[x] Mitakihara can accept refugees. You can refresh grief seeds if anyone is in urgent need.
--[x] Clear Seeds: Following what you told Rionna, inform if the group seems stable and helpful.
--[x] Gather information about Iowa and other threats, recruit for Walpy if reasonable.
---[x] Can segue from the Mitakihara refugee invite - "We can more or less guarantee safety, support, and peace, but we are expecting some inclement weather..."

Hunh... It occurs to me that the the whole "dewitching copies powers" theory that Firn might be pulling from PMKM could go pretty deep.

Because it occurs to me that Sabrina also fits into that category of having that same kind of inherent magic. It ties into her adverse reaction to antimagic, her soul being off limits to a lot of effects, and her metaknowledge. Especially the metaknowledge. It's a power that both fits canon!Madokami's knowledge of all timelines and is something that would fit with a wish that everything could be fixed.

And If the underlying hypothesis here holds up it could have been transferred in part when Sabrina was dewitched.

I think we should talk to Nyantokanyaru about Japan's local problem children instead of Iowa. The American channel will likely have more to say about the American group after all and there's something we should really follow up on here. A rogue grief controller loose in Mitakihara is a smaller threat threat than Iowa, but its also a closer threat.

I also think Vebyast's vote has insufficient focus on just talking to #nyantokanyaru and getting an idea of who they are.

Also, Veb, as far as #milesgloriosus and others I think you need to focus. We may get to two IRCs this update. There is no way we are getting to three or more. Even if we did just planning visiting and hiring runs into a major problem.

The argument space is much better spent fully addressing each channel.

Also adding the note that we will try to recruit from Tokyo, not just cleanse. That seems important.

Okay... Bit slapdash and overlong due to exhaustion and I don't have anything for milesgloriosus yet but I'm not getting any further with my vote before I keel over, so...

[x] Realize that as a magical girl on the internet, there's a software installation joke in here somewhere:
-[x] Check your emails

-[x] #nyantokanyaru: You're like to get a better picture of the channel, and you'd also like to talk a bit more on serious business, if they're amenable.

--[x] Chat:
---[x] Get an idea of how many people are on the channel, and their characters.
---[x] Note that Mitakihara is has a pretty high carrying capacity these days. We should be able to accommodate them if they want to visit.

--[x]Business:
---[x] Clear seeds: standard talk, but add in your experiences and notes from others so far on value and defense: Aim to give them what they need to make an informed decision.
----[x] Even if clear seeds don't work out, you're highly interested in sharing your capabilities with someone like Hatsumi, be it via clear seeds, enchantment you've yet to devise, or something else entirely. You don't want to be the only person who can do this.
---[x] Recruitment for Walpurgisnacht. Approach: Our friends have heard of Kagoshima by reputation. Acknowledge the danger, but we could use the all the help we can get. They can ask their price and have time to think it over: nothing else we speak of is contingent on this.
---[x] Last time on the channel is not the first time people have been terrifyingly deferential towards you and its becoming a pattern. At this point you need to ask if there are grief controllers you should be worried about.

Cut down #milesgloriosus from this at the moment, because #nyantokanyaru got long and detailed enough that it felt like it would be too much for one update.

I think we should consider our approach carefully in a lot of these offers, especially hiring, since we don't really do that very much. May even want to invite Homura to look over our shoulder... Well that's something for other posters and future!me to decide on.

EDIT: Actually, note to self, look writing things up in the old "goal, approach, potential specifics" vote format in the morning. It seems pretty well suited to both of these topics.

Aside: You know, when we go visiting on the internationally, I can't help but imagine playing lip service to Kyuubey's desire to keep secrets... by instead flying in with a giant apartment building trailing an airplane banner labelled "You Are Hallucinating This." Or, alternatively "Because No One Will Ever Believe You."

He can't complain if we instead take refuge in the unbelievably ridiculous after all. :V

I mean, honestly it's a terrible idea, but it's such a funny mental image that I have to mention it.

OK with Veb's vote I think my issue is it seems to... controlling? I mean you refer to it as discussing it with our cabinet - that puts them automatically into a subordinate role (also we can't have a cabinet Mami is in head of government... and state... and cake...) I don't want to control this conversation if anything I want to let everyone else talk - Hitomi and Madoka have shown to have a far better head then us for politics. Rather than focusing on figuring out what is going on in Tokyo you frame the vote as us trying to work out terms to discuss. I think we can't really discuss terms beyond generalities before we figure out whats going on with Tokyo. I mean trying to decide if we want Tokyo to continue to exist is a little premature I think.

I also provide no facts/theories for Sabrina to offer at the start since I want Madoka and Hitomi to come to their own ideas without us priming the pump. Maybe thats getting overly paranoid in the wording but I think the approach and tone we have going into the discussion is important.

edit: also IIRC milesgloriosus is in the US so trying to recruit them for walpy is a little...hard.

SO revised vote with some better wording and emails.

[x] Discuss the politics of Tokyo!
-[x] Hitomi and Madoka's thoughts on the matter. Focus on how any possibilities will influence your first meetings relative to your goals of future such as clear seed distribution. If you have too many ideas focus on Most likely case, Worst Case and Most Dangerous Cause.
- [X] Also Specifically figure out what you know, and what you DON'T know and what you wish you knew and what you NEED to know. This makes questions to answer that can shape our approach to negotiations and what to look for longer term. The questions you NEED to answer become priority.
[x] Dinner!
[x] What do you do afterwards?
- [x] Check email, anything important/urgent should break to a vote, otherwise set reminders to follow up on anything in our phone.
- [x] Check out the IRCs again
- [x] With #nyantokanyaru you want to see how they are doing, disposition in terms of diplomacy (friendly, isolationist/paranoid etc) and ask what they know and think about Tokyo using the discussion from earlier as a guide for what to ask.
- [x] Once Tokyo is covered bring up that, given they have a grief manipulator, you are looking to see if we can give them a clear seed sooner rather than later. Also Walpy is coming so see if Homura wants to try to recruit any of them . Mention though, if you try to recruit, that any sort of assistance would be welcome - even just a grief manipulator in the back likes with a clear seed helping with medical support.... also we're accepting refugees now since well infinite cleansing. In short, we have a lot we could discuss and would like to work out a face to face meeting.
- [x] If we have time check on #milesgloriosus and see if we can talk to any of the other girls on the server we have yet to meet. General introductions for them, nice, friendly, and honest. Get an idea on how the group as a whole is in terms of situation and disposition (fractured, unified, aggressive, passive etc) We can also see what we can find on the Iowa group to help inform identifying gaps in knowledge on the Iowa group and narrow down on the questions we need to answer.

terrible idea? I think you misspelled best idea ever

Aside from the politics, when do we bring up the defense plan for the Soujou's , the Iowa group, and the possibility of invading magical girls?
(I'm new to the thread, and just caught up)

Later possibly tommarow? For Iowa we don't know enough to make any sort of plan beyond a generic defense. For Soujo... idk
