Also, the fighting pits could lead to judicial dueling under strict rules as another possibilty for settling disputes. And it could greatly improve the hand to hand capabilty of our population.

Combine that with a more widespread adoption of steel-fists and we will create the new Ostland martial arts school : The Way of the (Iron Oxen that shatters the Heavens with a mighty) Steel Fist !

-[] Double Barreling: 1000g, 2 years. Investing in our gun trade. always a good idea, and since we are currently strapped for cash, now is the time to spread out our actions.
Our close ally and customer of our gun products just got hit by a strong Norscan raid and is considering getting loans from the local merchants or the national cult.

Now is not a good time to raise prices on our guns.
-[] Mountain Irrigation: 1000g, 2 years. investing in mountain infrastructure.
-[] Lumbering Heat: 1000g, 3 years. diversifying and decentralizing our economy where one disaster can't cripple our economy.
-[] The Northern March: 1000g, 3 years. diversifying and decentralizing our economy where one disaster can't cripple our economy.
If something nasty floods out of the forests* and cripples our farms, we'd have to rely on imports and the Middle Mountains for food.
This makes Slope Farming Major a good option.

Alternatively, since Lumbering Heat burns Wood into Charcoal, Taking Logging Assistance could supply the wood to meet the extra demand as a result of our Charcoal industry. Logging Assistance also makes the settlements with our logging industries** better protected against a horde of monsters coming out of the forest and crippling our economy.

*Or from outside of Ostland.
**currently Wurzen and Vandergart are our major logging communities. And while Jegow has a logging community and is a place for the Ostland Charcoal industry to settle, it is not counted as a major logging community. Investing in it could bump our major logging communities from 2 to 3.

@Qeqre wouldn't it make more sense to get irrigation first before major mountain farming since water is important for said farms and inhabitants? Might provide bonuses also if we do that first so larger farms can be planned around them.

We could start goats now to let that build up in general.

Um, @torroar just saw the full discussion on the Freya thing. What are we doing for that again? I'm in favor because I like the name but yeah. I can see why you may not want to now.

Edit: nvm ty

As I've said before, we know we've got an absolute asston of Centigors and whatever other type of 'gors heading upwater to get at us.

The border castles are one thing, but we need to reinforce the coast. Remember, it's not paranoia if they're really out to get you! ^_^

I know my plan has about the same chance to be accepted/win as a fart has to be heard in a hurricane. Don't care. I'm putting up what I will vote for anyway.

[] Plan Yannoshka
Military: (Choose 1):
[]Mercenary Office - This now to clear up ques, Light Maintenance next turn, as it is not actualy critical

Third Imperial Navy: (Choose 2):
[]Wolf Focus - Just because we have an action slot open does not mean we have to take it. Skip a second action right now due to budgetary concerns.

Diplomacy: (Choose 2):
[]Attracting Amber
[]Bloody Money

Stewardship: (Choose Three):
[]Logging Assistance - 'Match made...' :D
[]The Wonders of Goats - The sooner we take this, the sooner will it actually get usefull
Either Slope Farming Major or Mountain Irrigation for food

Research: (Choose One):
[]Steam Boiler Improvements - The best one we have. get

Piety: (Choose One):
[]Ogres Of The Wild - The better of the cheap options right now

Intrigue: (Choose One):
[]Into The Wolf Den - It is the cheaper option, and while we might have metaknowledge Freddy does not, and this knowledge is more important IC for him to know than playing oneupmanship with marienburg.

Personal: (Choose 2):
[]Work By Correspondence - Armor here is secondary. The frequent line of communications towards Alex is what draws me to this option.
[]Further Engineering Studies - 0 cost

Naming Vote: Name the second daughter of Magnus and Sabine.
[] Ortrud - After the famed Iron Lady of Ostermark, friend of the Hohenzollerns, fighter at the Gates of Kislev, Countess of Ostermark

We're already working on Law of Ostland.
How the hell did I miss the will complete portion for how many times I did?
Yep, my sanity score has definitely dropped this last 6 weeks or so. Oh, well, C'est la vie.

Changing to Work by correspondence, not for Armor, though that is a nice benefit, but for the frequent and open line of communication towards Alex.

Would it be possible for there to be more Intrigue options next time? Currently we have a 1-out-of-2 choice, so it can easily be decided by 'meh, we (OOC) know what happened to Dolph.'

Maybe some options to do an extra thorough spy sweep in the state? Train up some assassins/hunters for specifically anti-shaven or an

I assume Investigating Hochland will provide some options at least. I get the feeling 2-3 options were gated behind that for a while.

I find 'stabbing with guns' rather hilarious. I assume if we crit with that we'll think of ring bayonets? (sorry, 'collar stabbers'). It's also a good choice, considering it's both cheap, fairly long, pretty reliable, and should be a nice plus to our military power.

It's not that simple. Yes we OOC know what happened to Dolph, but the learn IC what happened to Dolph has a multi turn aspect with a lower chance of success on it when compared to the Marienburg bit, and learning about Dolph is cheaper. If the learn abut Dolph goes wrong over 2 years, with a 50% chance of success... Gunthar will be displeased. Good way to chase down vampires and get an in possibly with Gunthar, but risky.

yeah, but learning about Dolph is currently one of only two choices. As such, it's easy for a negative to one option - in this case knowing ooc about dolph already - to tilt the choices.

Though, to be clear, I favour learning about Dolph, because Vampires are more important than Marienburg merchants.

We could start goats now to let that build up in general.
Slope Farming Minor shaped the terrain(and to some extent the aquifers given that it tilled a lot of rocks and made the terraces resilient against rain erosion) and set the foundation(i.e. plannned the farms). Slope Farming Major is about building on top of said foundation, Irrigation is for finding out the local water tables and digging the channels to best suit our needs.
We could wait a year but I expect irrigation to be more of an output bonus at this point. And/or laying the groundwork for a project after Slope Farming Major.

And I'd imagine the goats need to be led to water as well. Arguably more so than some farms, as farmers can more easily store rain.

Could also go for Goats + Slope Farming + Irrigation. Maybe lock in a multi-turn project in Research to cut down on the amount of options for next turn...

Turn 28 had us go Soup Tank x2 for our two personal actions. Representing more time spent on it.

Pretty sure we can vote now since six hours have passed.

Willing to change things around but mainly went for cheaper options/those that take less time in general to spend as little gold as possible and get more sooner.

[X] Plan: Jewel

-[X] Freya

Cause I like the idea of Sabine and Serhild naming the second daughters they have Ortrud, and our QM will use nicknames to tell them apart if Ortrud wins. Freya is a more badass name in my opinion, so if it wins I won't be unhappy. Switched Ortrud for Freya, to cap a plan with Freya chosen, and give voters a chance to choose that name in a plan. Go Ortrud!!
