Oh, remembered what I was going to note about the chapter beyond all the interesting Science! happening-

You step inside the warehouse, tossing the now-empty waffle wrapper to the side and letting your Grief whisk it away into your hammerspace.

Well, it's begun. We've got a proper hammerspace now, and things to put in it. Who wants to be the first to bet that one of the things we inherited from Homura is hammerspace archiving everything? I suppose our only limitation might be that our hammerspace probably doesn't stasis things* the way Homura's does, so we prolly can't keep boiling water unless we use Grief haxx to do it. But that doesn't preclude mops.

* or some equivalent of stasis because I know literally nothing about what the spinoffs have declared about how the Shield's storage works and how much Firn has word-of-god declared PMAS canon

I'm sure we can make timestopped areas in our hammerspace.

Some if us (including me) are still curious about what's in it. Besides, when the diary's in a grief sphere in 4 space, nothing can get at it.
Wait, nothing?

NOTHING?

Not even us?!

Damn it, we lost the diary.

[Q] Tell Oriko you lost the diary.
-[Q] Get glared at by Kirika.
--[Q] ...
---[Q] Diary? What diary? There's no incriminating diaries, here.
----[Q] ... Tell Kirika that was a pancake, not a waffle.

The idea that Aurora grumbled because she wanted to use that "Enchanted to be malleable/workable" grief to create a new body (instinctively sensing it possible) is intruiging.... how does that relate to the reaction to injecting /happy-thoughts/ magic?

Gonna look for post/quote, didn't we already try "poke a seed with generic magic" and it just splashed off or failed to really insert? This clearly had a different effect....but I'm not sure if that was Aurora (pre-oddness or post) or even a clear seed at all.

We really do need to either try finding a real-person-tie to one of these three gems (do we have any idea who their meguca were pre-witching? Or were they all canon witches that happened before/offscreen ?) to try and see if familiar-soul hugs have an effect. Anri with that seed is one obvious target, but it certainly seems easier to research other witches rather than try to get her reliable enough for SCIENCE!

Aurora is the Toucan Witch that took down SpaceBattles.

Well, reason for my suppositions is that Aurora is a witch, and the big thing witches do with grief is wrap it around themselves and use it as bodies. Either that or wrap it around themselves as barriers.

As we feed more enchantment into her, it might be her witch reflexes trying to heal herself. We can use this! At a certain level of "trying to make a barrier, but no Grief" we could insert the Clear Seed into a host body.... As long as there is no Grief to use, none at all, the only possibility is the use of enchantment to cover herself with the flesh we provide. IMHO, No Grief during this stage of experimental rehab. Witches play with Grief, and we want to lead her AWAY from being a witch. Therefore no contact with Grief!Chibis, enchanted Grief, gaseous, solid witchy, etc. Try enchanting the thoughts directly to the Seed, or try enchanting materials. Fill clay with magic and happyz. Add Aurora. Pile of clay might let us invoke her as Golem!Chibi!Aurora .

How's that notion?

Given laws of conservation of energy and such, I wonder if turning a Seed back into a Soul Gem would require filling it with magic equivalent to the Grief which had been removed, which is to say, enough magic that we generate a full Seed's worth of Grief.

Probably more. Urobochi knows about entropy, so there are always losses. Doesn't mean we can't try. We are the one who can.

[X] SCIENCE!, before reaching the Kures if possible:

[X] Afterwards:

-[X] Use enchanted grief to try to make a device for analyzing and/or talking to grief seeds.

-[X] Aurora:
--[X] Try using her to cleanse your Gem.
--[X] Feed her 'normal' magic.
-[X] Hildegarde, then Elsa Maria.
--[X] Repeat magic feeding tests with them.

[X] The Kures:
-[X] Discuss House Arrest.
--[X] Apologize for the sudden birb invasion.
--[X] Explain yesterday's talk.
--[X] Offer your thoughts. Progress is gonna be slow, and if they agree to the changes, that would help.
--[X] Ask what they think.
---[X] Ask if they want to move out into a new apartment.
-[X] Ask Oriko if she knows about the Shirome potentials.

Still not sure about what we're doing after talking with the Kures. Maybe we should check on Kyouko. She's not gonna call us if her Gem turns black.
Let's shoot for something to share with others, like Niko? TaDa!!
"Use enchanted grief to try to make a device for analyzing and/or talking to grief seeds." Becomes..

Sufficiently Shouting out? Gotta keep the flavor text consistent.

I'm opposed to experimenting on both of our normal Clear Seeds. Having no non-experimented Clear Seeds seems like a bad plan.

Call Riona. Ask for soul tech support.
If we really need to, we can hunt a Witch...

What would calling Riona involve? I would guess she would mention her coming here if we call... or maybe not, which would be suspicious. >_>

Could we could bring it up during lunch and call with Mami?

Well, Nadia told us about a soul mage, and we've done a weird things with a soul, so obviously we'd call her for help. Seeing if she tells us she's coming here (or where she currently is etc.) or not tells us something about her current opinion of us.

Ninja'd!

It may be that she changes her itinerary to include Mitakihara because we called her.
Precog sucks, people.
Our legitimate interest is also our crutch! We need her support ATM, right? Sabrina is pretty darn honest and straightforward. Do it?

Hmmm... For best utility, Sayaka and Kyouko should hunt the witch. Then we can swap out Kyouko's more filled Seed for the fresh one? We still get a witch, and bonuses are had.

Do carry on over the weekend! I will be occupied with convention fun, such that other fun is pre-empted.

Hmm.... interesting results.

In the Wraith Arc (don't quote me on this), it is somewhat soft-confirmed in Sayaka's story that Puella can cleanse their own gems with their own positive emotions.

So, I made the joke and remembered the Witch of Regret. Was rereading Witch Quest. Why is Kyouko the husbando in every pairing?

...

Anyway. I don't really like spreading our SCIENCE experiments out on all three Seeds. I mean, yeah, we can get more, but there's no reason to fiddle with more Witches than one at a time, I think? Not until Soulguca shows up and tells us whether Sabrina did good or got braindamaged.

Oh, and the shitpost, I guess.

[Q] Call Homura Napalm
-[Q] Grenades are not party favors!
[q] That omake about Madoka curing everything with hope and compassion is suddenly relevant now.
-[q] Test the hypothesis
-[q] "accidentally" call her Madomom. Compare results before and after.
[q] go full meta. Find a forum where you'll rant about a secret cabal of pigeons, whose goal is to bring the end of the days.
-[q] Call them "Feathers"

That's all, folks.

So...kind of off-topic, but I thought of it earlier when I was at work, and couldn't type it out.

Basically, we've only been in Mami's life for two or three weeks, roughly. She's come a very long way in so short a time, yes, but it's worth noting (and remembering) that she undoubtedly still feels like going to bed with someone to cuddle up with is absolutely a novelty (in the sense that it's totally new and remarkable).

Also, while it might seem bizarre and unhealthy for Mami to have developed such strong feelings towards Sabrina (including love) in such a short time, it's worth keeping in mind that we've spent a ton of time with her in the past few weeks, and we've been through a lot together. Mami's been at her lowest point since she contracted, and Sabrina not only stayed (even when Mami told her to go away in a moment of distress), she helped her through it. She's had her trust in Sabrina tested and reaffirmed. Sabrina has been completely understanding and patient with Mami and all of her flaws, issues, and fears, while also singing her praises and reassuring her with regards to her fears.

In that context, developing feelings of love so quickly makes sense, and is not unhealthy by any means. In highly unusual circumstances, intense feelings can be developed in a very short time span because what normally takes years can instead be done in days.

This is similar to how Homura has come to develop such a strong bond with Sabrina. Having someone who fully understands and accepts her and what she's done--and praises her for it, no less--is not something she ever expected, to say the least. Also, she's probably gotten more hugs in the last few weeks than she's gotten in her entire life before then, combined. That leaves an impression.

I think that's what we're most concerned about?

I say don't ask about her coming yet. If she volunteers the information, great. If not we still know more about her and we can figure it out after the update.

I'm against getting shifty about us knowing she's coming.
The way I see it, either we don't contact her at all, or we outright tell her. Otherwise, well
My reasoning is tentative.
I think that any Meguca worth her name won't believe for a second she got coincidentally contacted by a Meguca from half across the world who lives in the very city she is planning to visit this very day.
If you do want to tell her, the introduction part is a little... lacking?
