Also means we need to find a way of Immortality that doesn't involved selling our soul so we can be around to help during the End Times.
And now you just gave me the image of a Ranaldite supervillain who ran around and gambled with other people's souls.

... You know, if going Necromancer is too distasteful for people, I could accept Mathilde going all D'Arby the Gambler on people instead. Harder to turn to the good of people at large, sure, but I'm certain we can find some way of using the souls of sinners productively, if not ethically.

The way to solve the problems of Makind is not the horrid powers of Necromancy! that is what the Van Hal have been paying for the last thousand freaking years! do you want to leave a legacy of penitent shadow wizard futilely trying to make up for our mistakes for unending generations!
Sure, it might not be the way to solve all the problems of mankind, but it could very well solve some of them! Like that nasty habit heroes have of dying at the wrong times (seriously lady, couldn't you have held out for like a year more?).

And if Mathilde is remembered for her folly for unending generations, that means that said generations are still around to remember her. That's a good thing, considering that the End Times canonically are rather closeby.

[X] As an adventurer, seeking fame and glory.
[X] As a wanderer, not entirely sure what you seek.

I think claiming to be a representative of the Empire isn't really wrong. As a Magister, Mathilde can mostly do what she wishes, as long as it is for the good of the Empire and Colleges. Since the Empire is currently incapable of sending help with all the turmoil within its borders, Mathilde volunteers herself, no matter how little that is.

The wanderer part is important, as while I do want her to be an advisor, I think that ultimately this is about soul searching and trying to find another path to follow.

[X] Regrowth - Ghyran, instantly restores someone to full health from any state up to and including 'recently dead'. -9 College Favours

The other choices seem sub-par, barring Boon of Hysh. Still, at this point, why not the best healing we can get? The only real worry I have about it is that a more complex spell would be harder to recharge.

Anyway, once we get this bit out of the way, there is an obvious and vital task that we must complete immediately, lest terrible consequences befall us.

I speak, of course, about making an armor enchant for wolf-Wolf (IE, the canine clearly representative of the priest).

On a related note, anyone else think that priests of Ranald across the empire have probably received a confusing slew of wolf-related omens recently?

Speaking of Wolf @BoneyM is wolf-Wolf a normal wolf or one of those gigantic horse sized wolves?

So hey.

Anybody else recall how the GM said Fuck the End Times and all its bullshit?

Because I remember that.

And no Karl Franz...

Well, it's not the end of the Empire folks. Not yet, anyway.

Now, if at some point in the future we end up helping some drunken cop named Felix Jager keep his promises...

That would be hilarious. Most definitely.

Regardless, off to Adventure! Fun times with Belegar Ironhammer and his men, to retake Karak Eight Peaks!

What would happen if we bound the Doppelganger spell in wolf-Wolf and made him take the appearance of man-Wolf? Would we then be speaking to man-wolf-Wolf or man-wolf-man-Wolf?

Anyway, @BoneyM in regard of healing items - all of those seems to be very much single-person, single-use (recharge needed). Would it be possible to get something potentially bit weaker, but more widespread?

I am thinking in terms of an army, or at least a party, where Mathilde will be forced to watch Dwarves die of wounds. Anything that can save lifes would be of quite of use.

A Jade Battle Wizard using one of their more difficult spells can manage a healing spell for two to four people. Mass healing isn't much of a thing.

A normal wolf.

Guys, we are about to face magical rat ninja assassins and cyberpunk rat snipers.

Seriously, the ability to straight up come back from the dead, or ressurect someone, is utterly invaluable.

Say a dwarven thane falls, we are a single point off being able to teleport around the battlefield.

Can you imagine how much good that would do?

We can't let the leadership die. And Skaven are the sonr best assassins around.

Personally i'd place a bound Dread Aspect or Shadow of Death on him, train him to be able to activate it and then....well you can figure it out at this point.

Also since I'm not so knowledgeable about Familiars in warhammer can someone educate me on what exactly having a familiar would do and the advantages the link would give to the familiar?

Technically isn't Karl Franz's death our (the players) fault since Boney said that picking Grey Wizard and Sleeper Agent would make our blackmailers more powerful and you don't get much more powerful than the Emperor's wife.

Might have been for the better she died. There are bound to be more than a few ways for pregnant women to corrupt their unborn children.

If a dwarf thane falls then it will probably be in the middle of a gigantic battle and Mathilde might not even see him go down in time to save him also trying to heal someone in the middle of combat would be insanely risky especially if whatever killed the thane is still alive.

wouldnt mind another lesser amulet but not sure about those to be honest

To everyone lamenting the potential butterflying of an unborn Emperor- Word Of Boney (from long ago) was that there were no guarantees the next heir would have been as good as Karl Franz. His stats and nature would have been up to the whims of the dice. We might have lost the next Dieter. Or the next Sigmar (well, probably not Sigmar). Who knows.

Not to mention that affecting dwarven bodies with magic is harder than other races - so perhaps we would spend a charge of our artifact just to watch it fail.

My only lament of Karl not being a thing is the fact that Ranald wouldn't be able to watch him pull off the greatest con in the history of the empire.

Now that I think about it, if we lose an arm or a leg it would be pretty nice to have a regrowth artifact on hand. I don't think Boon of Hysh is good enough to regenerate that, so we'll be crippled if that happens.

I'm happy with either Boon or Regrowth.
