The ability to regrow limbs in and out of combat sounds pretty darn good on its own, too.
The difference between an injury and a casualty.

So @BoneyM might I the exact benefits of our new wolf familiar?
We made out like a bandit.
Git is lucky we don't declare grudges over insults like that. He's greatly relieved when you tell him you had dwarven help when setting up the factory.
Yay, we are rich again! But it is fantastically profitable, especially multiplied by the growing stockpile back in Wurtbad.
Good thing we are taking a holiday to the Badlands. Hopefully the home front will have settled by the time we return. This on top of the civil war brewing between Middenland and Norrland; these are dark times.
Urge to laugh maniacally… rising.
Huh. I guess we have had a surprisingly epic adventure for someone who barely qualified as a hero character at the start.but you've experienced greatness. You've felt the presence of Gods, cast spells that shaped entire battlefields, lead armies into battle. You've snatched the tools of the enemy from their hands and reshaped them into weapons for the righteous.
Ranald isn't big on subtlety is he?you're only slightly surprised to see a scruffy wolf pup looking up at you.
A worthy send-off.
I'm not much of a statistician but I'm pretty sure the Bell Curve is supposed to be the other way up.[Striking a deal: Stewardship, 81+16=97]

I'll put making him a mini-Sif on my dream list.Currently, company. The Familiar process is extended, I'm currently working on a post explaining it and the benefits.
Yes.
And is it a 'standard casting action' as opposed to ten minutes of concentration of whatever?Currently, company. The Familiar process is extended, I'm currently working on a post explaining it and the benefits.
Yes.
I'm not really too confident about that. They might not expect us to only be a chronicler, but I think it's likely that they will expect us to at least perform it as a full time job. Failure to perform up to their low(very high for humans) standards is probably going to lead to disappointment.[X] As a chronicler, here to record events.
Surely someone here has heard of the elfdragon book. And the dwarves will probably be sensible about not expecting dwarf levels of grudgetracking from a manling.
This would be invaluable...

But the real jewel of your learning comes when Magister Patriarch Algard passes you in a corridor, turns back, and asks you if you've learned Shadow of Death. "No," you say. Good, he replies, because you won't need it.
Hm. I wonder if we can get a Dispell Scroll? Admittedly i am not quite up to date on Warhammer Tabletop rules, but back when i used to play they were common as chips, and the ability to instantly dispell any one Spell can come in ridiculously handy, especially when you are going up against Skaven. Fucking 13th needs to be dispelled at all cost if they get it off.
This is insane, you are arguing that make raising people from the dead might be a bit of a bother.
We could change the course of the entire war with this ability. We can change the course of the entire quest with this item.
It's a renewable resurrection item. One we can set up to resurrect ourselves.
How can you not see the value in that.
Obviously, they've noticed that we already have the means to learn how to repeatedly raise people from the dead. This is insane, you are arguing that make raising people from the dead might be a bit of a bother.

... If Wolf's grand reward in the afterlife is simply getting reincarnated as an actual wolf, using necromancy to chain his soul to the mortal world might genuinely be preferable. At least he'd avoid the fleas that way.
Yep. Then we just need to master Time Travel, and the real reason Mathilde wouldn't let anyone into Abelhelms tent after his 'death' become obvious.specifically. If it really works like it says on the tin, then there's no better choice on which to splurge all our college favors.
Yeeeeeeeees.
I expect the dwarves will almost certainly have their own chroniclers, and the dwarven chroniclers will almost certainly not imagine that the task could ever be handed off to a human. Dwarfs do the proper writing, and think it's cute that the humans want to write about it too. Maybe with twenty years of practice Mathilde's writings will even be of interest to someone other than humans.I'm not really too confident about that. They might not expect us to only be a chronicler, but I think it's likely that they will expect us to at least perform it as a full time job. Failure to perform up to their low(very high for humans) standards is probably going to lead to disappointment.
I'm not sure it would actually be made for us; it might be very rare pre-existing and we're calling in a lot of favors to get one lent out to us.Normally you'd expect this kind of thing to be a one-use, super rare item with only a few in existence, and we can just ask to have one made just for us specifically. If it really works like it says on the tin, then there's no better choice on which to splurge all our college favors.
