[X] Earth Blood - Ghyran, slowly heals wounds when standing upon soil or unworked stone. -2 College Favours.

For a Dwarven Hold? Eh. Depends on how much Unworked stone there actually could be.

[X] As a wanderer, not entirely sure what you seek.
[X] As a representative of the Grey Order, here to lend a hand where it can be of most use.

Because honestly I think these two options describe Matilda best at the moment.

Mathilde, while a knight does not have backing of any authority from the Imperial government; but Mathilde the Magister does have the authority of doing whatever as part of Grey Order.

[X] Cauterize - Aqshy, closes wounds and stops bleeding, preventing death without healing wounds. -1 College Favour
[X] Healing of Hysh - Hysh, instantly heals a small amount of wounds. -2 College Favours.
[X] Ill-bane - Hysh, cures poison and weakens disease. -3 College Favours.

The second is to finally begin unloading the niter crystals that the Gong Farmer's factory has been producing for quite some time now. You pack a sample and visit the hold of Zhufbar once more, your good name there getting you inside the massive gates and an introduction to a dwarf high up enough in the Guild of Engineers to authorize purchases. He takes your sample and disappears into the depths of the Hold to perform a series of tests on it, and emerges days later to reluctantly admit that the sample is remarkably pure; not just for manling craft, but by dwarven standards. He's greatly relieved when you tell him you had dwarven help when setting up the factory.
Curious, I know this could be just dwarven pride, but is there worry that humanity could eventually catch up to the dwarves?

Hmm. I can't help but feel like Mathilde presenting herself as a representative of the Empire looking to fulfil ancient oaths is a bad idea, mostly for two reasons.

Firstly... claiming that is a massive overreach. She's not here on the orders or request of another, and the Empire itself is providing no formal assistance to Belegar's mission, which is why he got frustrated and decided to put out the call for basically anyone who wanted in to come meet him. Framing the appearance of a single wizard as a sign of oaths repaid kind of cheapens their value and highlights how the Empire is only sending a single wizard, rather than a small army of professional troops.

Secondly... well, it's not true. Mathilde isn't going to Karak Eight Peaks because of her ancestor's oaths, she's going because she wants adventure, or perhaps just to get well clear of the Empire for a bit and find herself. The professional relationship she has with Belegar is going to be incredibly important for her chances of survival and glory, so I strongly recommend against lying to the dude on the first meeting.

Do they have any unmentioned drawbacks or limitations such as having to be recharged after use in specific conditions or having so many usages per a day?

They're going to need recharging of some sort, even 'limited uses per day' just means that it's passively recharging from ambient magical energies, that's just how magical items work unless they've got a Power Stone built into them. The exact mechanics you won't know until the finished product is delivered to you.

@BoneyM For regrowth how recent is recent, a few minutes, an hour, a day?

A few minutes.

Curious, I know this could be just dwarven pride, but is there worry that humanity could eventually catch up to the dwarves?

That's ridiculous.

Finally, you visit the catacombs of Eagle Castle in a visit you've been putting off for some time now; you're not sure if the current Elector Countess would have allowed it so you didn't bother to ask. Abelhelm's tomb is plain and unadorned except for a plaque with his name and the date of his fall, though fresh flowers have been placed atop it. You place a hand atop the cool stone of the casket Abelhelm lies within. Time stretches out as you stand there.
... Is it bad if my first thought is "At least we know where it is"?

[ ] Regrowth - Ghyran, instantly restores someone to full health from any state up to and including 'recently dead'. -9 College Favours
I really want this, but it's very expensive. How can I convince the others voters to go fo-!!!

Guys, getting this item would remove one of the easiest ways for me and others to push Mathilde down the Necromancy route, so if we end up picking it I'll totally be peeved!

Hey, @vsh , you know what you can add to the Gandalf comparisons?

Balrog comparisons.

Dread Aspect + Torc of Fire + Grey Magic + spelunking a lost dwarven hold + cowardly skaven. Mathilde could totally pull off inspiring some "A dread being of shadow and flame has come. Fly! Fly you fools! This is a foe beyond any of you!"

[X] Boon of Hysh - Hysh, instantly heals all wounds, poisons and disease. -5 College Favours.
[X] Nothing further was commissioned.

Now that we know this option exists, if we don't take it we will regret it every time someone we like dies. But I am NOT willing to burn all 9 favors on regrowth.
> [ ] As a representative of the Empire, honouring the ancient alliance between Man and Dwarf.

I don't know why Men PCs honoring the ancient alliance with Dwarvenkind strikes such a chord with me, but so it does. (Not a vote)
I know why it strikes said chord with me; because the empire has failed both us and the dwarves in the same way due to infighting, but that never stopped Zhuftbar from helping us. So though the empire (of Sigmar) has failed the dwarves, humanity doesn't have to.

As for the second; I have a few ideas
[X] As a wanderer, not entirely sure what you seek.
[X] As a representative of the Grey Order, here to lend a hand where it can be of most use.
[X] As a representative of the Colleges of Magic, here to provide magical aid.
[] As a chronicler, here to record events.

The first because Mathilde has felt fairly rootless and undirected lately, the middle 2 because she just became a magister, and the last because, hey, we wrote Arsinil's book.

You remember him falling, you remember the failure of all that could have helped. You remember your helpless rage as he slipped away.

But you also remember the extermination of all those responsible. The death of she who was plotting evil in the heart of Sylvania. And the total destruction of Castle Drakenhof, the home of seven centuries of nightmares.

"We did it," you say. "We changed the world we live in."
T-T

I really think this option is mandatory for Mathilde after are experiences in the Purge. The Dwarves were invaluable to helping her deal with not only the battle but also the emotional side of Van Hal's death, she should feel this is important.

I'm going to go with these tentatively and I'm going to think more on the magic items.

Just as a reminder before voting for all the magic paraphernalia, having several different winds coursing through Mathilde's body leads to Dhar buildup and should be avoided. It's better to pick a one off effect than stuff that will interfere with her ability to cast Ulgu.

With the way our Magic is growing we might actually want to start gathering favors or do stuff that can potentially give favors during this campaign, because Battlemagic is nearly in reach.

Remember, the big thing about umgi that dwarfs don't like is how we forget things. So to show we remember is important

Heh. FYI, there will be hundreds of thousands of greenskins in the depths, too. Hopefully we can befriend the expeditions Halfling Field Chef Brigade.

Not to mention Ironhammer has already lost alot of faith in the Empire at the Elector's Meet, when the infighting was so bad, that he outright stormed out of the place in disgust. Grey Order is acceptable because of how independently it operates but saying The Empire sent us? Prooooooooobably not going to get a good reaction from him.

Haha! Take that! You and your ilk will never take us down the path of necromancy!

Rather than representing the Empire, I would rather that Mathilde shows up representing herself. The dawi came out for her in her time of need, and so she responds in kind.

You could say that she already paid them back by allowing them to solve ancient grudges, but that's more repaying what they did for the Empire/Stirland, not the assistance they lend Mathilde herself.
