Who has the Rune Sword btw? Because Tiny Gandalf shoving it down this Carstein whores throat is very appealing right now.

... at least he knew someone stood by his side until the end.

Seriously though, what's Wyrdglass and why does it matter that Jovi is too disintegrated to invent it?

- i really want to see the world now, go be a Road Warrior-lite or something, righting wrongs and all that

So, is there any reason not to do this?
Like one of the things which might lead to the Amethyst Patriarch HIMSELF coming to the fight is suspecting that Van Hal might have a copy of the book and wanting his hands on it.

This is an item thats difficult to trust anyone with because of just how much power it represents. Using it here would have every single vampire, necromancer AND wizard in the province coming after it.

On the plus side it's not inherently corrupting to be around. It has to be USED. It can be studied safely even, as long as you don't use Dhar with it(and it has significant benefits for countering all forms of necromancy).

I imagine this is something Van Hal agonizes over, because we know his scholarship favors preserving and propagating knowledge, his bloodline having a famous necromancer in it having written that is his family's shame, and finally, that this knowledge is right on the edge of too dangerous to trust anyone with, yet too valuable to be destroyed.

[X] The Third Vampire War ended with the Grand Theogonist himself reading a Spell of Unmaking from a mere copy of the Liber Mortis. There can be no stronger precedent.

Well.
This is a sudden change in campaign direction.
The Dice giveth and the Dice taketh away, blessed be the Dice, accursed be the Dice.

A wizard Elector Count is very unlikely.
Presumably the Emperor will convene yet another council.
So we hold things together until then, then we decide what we want to do.

And if Mathilde doesn't kill herself burning down Drakenhof and ending the so called 'Countess of Sylvania', we'll be the best damn auntie for all the little Van Hals as we can.

Uuuuuuuuggggggggghhhhhhhhh. Those we're some astoundingly shitty dice. Like literally every roll that truly mattered here was terrible.

First one is obvious. We are goddamn finishing this like he wanted.

Second one, judging from how this has likely been a secret for generations, this is my best guess as to what he said we'd know what to do. It is plausible he was talking about ending Sylvania though, and he could've said "keep it safe" easily without giving away anything to listeners if that was what it meant. I really don't know.

Well the next count is going to be one of Van Hal's hidden relatives, with Anton as regent.
EDIT- at least i assume. we know he has hidden kids from his widow, but politics might say no
Politics shouldn't intervene. He had Anton set up the inheritance for him before he died, and as far as we know his kids were secret, but legitimate.

No Elector wants to set the precedent of refusing an inheritance.
But the worst part is that the poor guy is going to wind up going to the Elector's Meet with zero experience ruling and no idea who to trust.

Dwarfs. It'd be back. They're the one people you can trust not to try to steal a Runefang.

Probably holding onto it until the rightful heir is set up and then handing the blade to them. Or to someone they can trust to pass it to the proper heir if they aren't going to stick around long enough.
Seriously though, what's Wyrdglass and why does it matter that Jovi is too disintegrated to invent it?
I'd like to know too. Can't find shit on it.

Isn't it the Van Hal line that received the Elector count position though? So wouldn't his children now become the elector count and a regency council will need to be devised until they are of age to assume the responsibility?

I say we nuke Sylvania and then book it to Cathay.

Theres a Wizard Lord here likely because he suspects a Book is here.
Once we use it we aren't going anywhere on pain of Purple Sun

Uh...Van Hal mentioned before he had kids our age. He's nearly twice as old as us.

Also guys and gals, I know this was a fretful vote but lets not scream at the GM. We're suppose to be adults.

I wouldn't appreciate being sworn at if I were BoneyM.

[X] The body must be escorted to it's final rest, in either Wurtbad or Altdorf. Remain by Van Hal's side. Whatever happens.

If it's good enough for the Grand Theogonist, it's good enough for you. Spell of Unmaking? Sounds like a good place to start.

So do we hide the book until one of Van Hel's kids are ready for it or do we make sure it never see's the light of day until shit gets real.

[] A book of necromancy, a newly-dead body. This doesn't need to be the end of Abelhelm. Raise him, and not in the clumsy way of the fumblers you're facing: you can make him a body superior to that of the living.
"WHAT IS THE MEANING OF THIS."
"So, um, hey! Hiiiii. Buddy. Now, you may be wondering.... why you're alive! In a manner of speaking. Um. Now in fairness, you weren't terribly clear with your final bequest, and you know wizards. Curious as cats! ... Tee hee?"
"... DAME MATHILDE WEBER, DON'T YOU WINK AT ME."

Well, now we know the secret as to why the Van Hal's are legendary Witch Hunters. They have the knowledge of the Liber Mortis to use against the evils of the world. Best keep it safe and hidden for his inheritors... after we're certain his kids aren't going to use it to destroy the world or anything.
