Actually, Grinning gave us motive for stealth. Not necessarily larceny, at least not all the time. Hidden will probably give us motive for levelling our investigation, which isn't a bad thing.

Dreaming moon will give bonus so long you throw a party or participate in one. Hidden so long you find secrets. And mother will so long you help your children.

Which one do we do regulary? Throw a party, find secrets or help zhengui.

Mother moon is the best choice if you care about dices bonii.

I am leery of the Dreaming Moon option personally. To me, it would give us a task to socialize, connect, entertain, and smooth ruffled feathers between friends. Which means that there will be points that we would do those things not because it would help our friends but because the Dreaming Moon wanted us to do those things.

It seems a bit weird to want to help our friends but choosing the option where we help them for the reward rather than for actually helping them.

How often do we do that, and, more importantly, do you think we'll find a reason to do that every week for the cultivation bonus?.

I bet we'd be able to find missions for it readily enough. Investigation is basically tracking, there are plenty of opportunities to track down monsters/enemies/treasure. Just like there's plenty of opportunities for stealth, and plenty of opportunities for expression.

Tracking and investigation are different skills, last time I checked. At least as far as this system is concerned. Tracking falling under survival.

Well, actually we do it fairly often. As often as putting on shows have been lately. We learned a secret from Cai and we delved and explored a tower looking for the secrets held within. That's two instances in a couple of weeks.

As for continuing to do so every week? Well, we probably won't have time to do a stealth/larceny mission as well as an expression mission every week. Rather, I would combine the stealth and investigative mission. Investigate to find the subject, and then stealth to get close to them.

Furthermore, we have that huge map of the whole entire outer sect to explore, as well as the possibility of exploring vast tracks of territory in the inner sect. There will be a plethora of options to increase and use investigation as well as learning secrets and keeping them.

To be fair, I think Dreaming is more about expression rather than explicitly helping our friends. We'll be using music to soothe, persuade, and convince them of our sincerity. Like when we played that song for Meizhen.

That might be true for us, but it's not how it works IC I don't think. Rather, it would be Ling Qi choosing to focus on socialising and her friends as part of her Way. And, of course, being in tune with your way is good for your cultivation, but that's incidental. What matters is the way you choose, and the kind of person you want to be.
 
Well, I suppose the investigation would lend well to joining Cai or the sect.

All Cai has asked of us up till this point is "scout this" or "investigate that". I suspect it will be more of the same if we sign up with her.
 
My beef with Hidden Moon is that we won't be able to use a significant part of whatever we find from it. We already won't be able to train the Argent set, TRF, SCS, FVM, FSS and PLR to the (soft) cap of green 1, let alone hit green 2 for the tournament. And lets not forget the ... rather significant time unlocking relevant meridians is also going to eat too.
Any Art we find is going to be effectively useless. Any follow up missions we find is going to be eating into whatever little training time we have.
This, imo, significantly diminishes the usefulness of Hidden Moon vote for the forseeable future.

Hidden moon doesn't have to be about finding arts, though. I could very well be finding other resources.

I have to admit I am interested in what secrets the grinning moon path may hold. I think Ling Qi would be too considering some of the things she has found out while she has followed under Xin's guidance.

Xin pushes all my "This person is a manipulator" buttons. Knows more she says, tells you only what she wants you to know. Enjoys screwing with people way to much.

As for the moon tutor.... Well, given he is on mandatory leave, he has probably spent way to much time hiding in bushes and shanking people to be healthy.
