What's the difference between Lofty alternative and Lofty ideals?

The most significant change is that Lofty Alternative switches out Titan Mark 3 Development to instead do Reclamator Hub Yellow Zone 5a. This not only builds a new hub, but the overflow from completing RZ-6 South's MARV fleet will go into building YZ-5a's MARV fleet. (Without this, any overflow won't go to another project as there's nowhere close enough for extra MARVs to drive to.) On average this will give us 1 die's worth of progress, letting us 2 dice another MARV fleet next turn. I'm hoping to pair that up with building another reclaimator hub next turn as well.

More MARVs are good. Plus this lets us see the mechanics of how they operate in Yellow Zones and determine if we should build more of them in YZs after we finish covering our glacier mines.

Didn't Ithillid say yesterday that the fleets do not overflow? Or has it been confirmed that the fleets do overflow when we have adjacent hubs?

Would I be right in thinking that if we have a second completed hub and overflow a MARV fleet the excess would go to the second hub?
I will say so long as it is an adjacent hub. So if you overflow from RZ-6 South, you can go to YZ-5a.
