Also, sorry for the lack of flavor text at the top of the turn post. Was so eager to get the update out that I forgot to put it in.

Though I suppose that, since the war/battle turns are coming, that should make up for it.

Plan War wins, no contest there.

Omake: Still Shining?
I will try my Hand at this.

Omake: Still shining?

You are Godric Gleam, Captain in the army of his Grace Garrick Golden-Feather send to relieve Wingbardy from the Invasion of Aquila. Just like every Evening since you were given the Sword, and with it command of fifty other Griffins, you sit around a Bonfire with your men and women and contemplate how to raise the Morale for the fight you are sure to face tomorrow, while cleaning the spotless and gleaming Blade.

You have faithfully served in the Griffonian army for over thirty Years, defending the Innocent from Raiders, Pillagers and Discordian Horrors alike. With our wit and shining sword alone you slew the Granitecloud terrorizing the Countryside, whose breath was like acid and blood like Cotton-candy. With your Unit, your shining Sword and just a bit of Luck you brought down a Dragon, who thought Griffonia ripe for the picking after Discord was brought low by the two Sisters.

And tomorrow, for the first time, you would take the live of fellow Griffin or die trying, not quite certain which of the two you would prefer. You sigh deeply before deciding to try and wing it.

Standing up you start with "Men, Giselle and Genevieve .......... we are as you well know on our way free Wingbardy from the unprovoked Invasion of the Aquilian army. With this they have for FINALLY shown their true Face, not only does King Brochard tax his people almost to starvation, not only threatens he everyone who so much has DARES to be friendly to us, our Spies also have uncovered documents from Aquila that will pardon any and all ATROCITIES their Raiders and Mercenaries commit in this war. Every Thievery, every Arson, every Maiming ................. every Rape is not grudingly accepted as a reality of War, but encouraged to make them fight harder, by their TYRANT OF A KING HIMSELF." You wait a few seconds to let the implications of that sink in.

You stand and up raise your shining sword to the sky, just like you have done for finish of your speeches for twenty years."Brochard is no true Griffin, nor are those who follow him voluntarily, killing them is no different then putting down rabid Diamond dog Raiders or a rampaging Troll. Do not hesitate tomorrow, for they will not. They may look like us, but their thoughts are wicked and their hearts black. LET US SHOW THEM WHAT THEIR AVARICE HAS WROUGHT THEM!" There are no cheers or grinning to be had after your words, but the doubts and troubles shining in the eyes of your unit are replaced with steely determination and you know they will see this through till the bitter end.

......................If you only you could stop wondering if you could ever face the reflection in your sword after tomorrow ever again.

Omake: A Letter from Father to Son (Canon)
Okay ready to post my first Omake in the thread.

Omake: A letter from father to son

Dear Gawain,

My son you have only just been born and yet I must leave you. War has come and as King I must march off to fight. Though I hope with all my heart, it will not be so I cannot help but fear that I will not come back, that you will have to grow up without a father. Gawain, even though I have held you for only moments and you have only been in my life for so little time I already love you more than word could ever say. I have written this letter so if I fall in the battle to come you will have some guidance from me in your life. I hope you will never need this letter and I swear to you that I will do everything in my power to make that so, but if my best is not enough you deserve something.

It is only now that I am a father that I understand the true cost of war. The pain I fear of not returning to you is one spread across every one of the thousands of lives in both my army and that of my enemies. Each one is a father that might never get to see his son again, a son who might never return to his father. And for every solider fighting there are a hundred unseen faces that are harmed as well; innocent farmers in Wingbrady who must run from their home in the face Aquileia's pardoned brigades set loose for a temporary advantage, Militiamen of our lands who now must face the raiders and trolls our armies once guarded them from alone to protect their homes and even the people of Aquileia themselves stripped of all but the barest they need to keep their families alive by the oppressive taxes of an unjust King willing to inflict whatever crime he need for even the chance of satisfying his own ambition. All will suffer for this war.

Yet even knowing this pain is what will come I do not hesitate to march forward and fight this war for a moment. Gawain, if you learn one thing from your father let it be this, war as horrible as it might be must be fought. There is no nobler ambition for a king then to create a peaceful land where his subjects may prosper without fear. But today that is not a wish that is possible, if I did not march now in opposition to Aquileia war will continue to haunt Griffinkind. My rival has shown himself to be a brute, incapable of any language but that of force. Such a man will never truly bring peace or rule over these lands well; he will never do anything but torment and vandalize others forever ensuring endless hatred beneath his boot. He will listen to no reason and only the sword will stop him. Remember Gawain when you choose to draw your sword as King you unleash countless suffering on the world. Yet if there is no better choice, if the cause you fight for is just, if in doing so that pain will pave the way for a brighter future for the children of those who will suffer as I hope this war will for you, then do not hesitate for a moment to draw it!

Your eternally loving father,

King Garrick Golden-feather
