There are subtle hints that FO:E Equestria was a more pony-centric society (though due to the fic originally started before season one ended much of what we consider nowadays as part of FIM's world is missing) because while it's entirely possible the Zebras were a strange and superstitious society, it wouldn't explain how Equestria slides so easily into a nation willing to do the things it did. It's the Sugar Bowl Aesthetic, things seem bright and happy, but it's merely colourful paint to a very troubled picture.

Though I will give it credit that the personalities of Mane Six seem plausible as the Ministry Mares. Unlike in Fallout the government isn't oppressive because it wants to maintain power, it's good intentions that either go wrong in ways they couldn't originally conceive or the ponies implementing go way too far.

The Pegasi Enclave are only marginally better than their human counterparts from the games.

To give you an idea of just how messed up they are, think about this: in the Canon Fallout Equestria timeline, Rainbow Dash was actually one of the founders and leaders of the Enclave...until she deserted them to try and help the ground-bound Ponies they were content to abandon.

The Element of Loyalty deserted them.
So here's a brain wave that just occured to me.

We know in canon Fallout: Equestria that the Gryphon Empire was one of the aggressors against Equestria (not so here) and that Rainbow Dash was enemies with Gilda due to being on different sides.

Canon ends with them both having a final battle (that cuts to black cliffhanger style) that we never get to see who wins, but I recall reading somewhere that Gilda was the victor and successfully killed Dash.

In Fallout: New Gryphus I have the idea/theory that Gilda kept in contact and maintained her friendship with Dash despite the Embargo and tried to convince her to move to Gryphus but failed due to Dash being LOYAL to Equestria.

Now here's the big brain moment.

Gilda using the OP!HAX that is the Gryphus Secret Service, secretly keeps tabs on Rainbow Dash against the explicit orders of her Emperor and shadows her movements in Equestria and beyond (deployment orders, etc.)

When the Eleventh Hour rings and it's one minute to midnight for the World, before the Blazefires are released, Gilda mounts a raid and extracts Dash (and her family) from Equestrian territory before rushing at full speed back to the safety of Gryphus. They make it back just as the Blazefires strike.

Now granted, they got delayed due to Dash resisting her captors/saviors. This delays their return until literally the last second and they barely make it underground to avoid getting locked out and dying agonizing deaths from Radiation poisoning.

I like to imagine that at least one Element Bearer got a semi-sweet happy ending. Sure her old home is destroyed and all of her friends in Equestria are dead (or worse) but her and her family are still alive along with her friendship to Gilda still being strong (strained though).

So yeah. That's my idea on how Rainbow Dash survived Fallout: Equestria and her descendants are going to help Gryphus curbstomp the Pegasus Enclave before conquering Equestria in the name of the Emperor.

Nice but I would change the end to that Rainbow dash's descendants are one of the major forces behind helping equestria rebuild, not just be conquered. to show that even after all this time rainbow inspired Loyalty to her home and what it once was

Why not both? Equestria needs to be conquered so that the inhabitants of Gyphus can live above ground. Plus they need help rebuilding their civilization which Gryphus can provide the technical support for.

So the descendants conquer then help rebuild Equestria. A simple, easy and elegant solution.

Sorry to bring this back up again, but that RIFTS idea has stuck with me for the past few days. Because honestly, a sort of fusion of My Little Pony and RIFTS in the vein of Fallout Equestria is fascinating to me.

What has been at the center of attention about this idea is that, in addition to having the Rifts open to various alternate timelines, dimensions, and histories, they could also open to other Hasbro properties, even the previous generations of My Little Pony.

Your welcome.

For the usage of earlier generations of MLP, lets use the OG!Grogar. You know! The demonic looking and ghostly sounding goat necromancer that is creepy af. Better than what we got in canon!G-4.

Imagining him in G4 sounds cool as heck since he looked and acted so evil that I actually rooted for him when I saw him on youtube.

Should be a good antagonist for Gryphus since they hate necromancers with a passion.

Were the griffons involved in the war as a nation? I thought Gilda was, like, a mercenary or something within the context of the fic, but maybe I should go back and read.

It's a good idea, but it does conflict with some parts of the Fallout Equestria story that I don't want to spoil that require Rainbow Dash to do some actions that help the main story. My suggestion would be to merge in the author's headcanon of Rainbow Dash's fate with a reason as for why Gilda became a mercenary.

Gilda is the leader of the Griffons who refused to follow the call, either because they didn't want to leave the homes and livelihoods they'd built or because they think the Emperor's snapped from his injuries and Gryphus might end up more dangerous than Equestria. Gilda's reasoning for staying is her friendship with Dash and newly appointed head of the Ministry of Awesome (fun fact: Dash named her ministry before she got around to figuring out what it was supposed to do) hires Gilda as a 'consultant' with over the period of the war (the Great War is described as a decades-long conflict) it evolves into a mercenary company of non-ponies, mostly Griffons, fighting for Equestria for a whole lot of bits to support the exiled Griffons.

However, after the invention of Megaspells (Fallout Equestria's nuclear equivalent, an arcane matrix that enhances any spell put into it originally for healing purposes... but ideas were had), the more military minded Griffons realise what it means and start working with Stable-Tech to build their own Stable to house non-ponies with Gilda keeping it a secret from Dash as she doesn't want to look weak in front of her best friend.

The Pegasus Enclave hiring Gilda to kill Rainbow Dash wasn't their first choice, but after several more subtle attempt failed, they went to the one who knew her fighting style best and hadn't been trained by her. Gilda takes the job for two reason, firstly the Enclave offers a lot of money and while the Stable is done, it could always use more equipment and secondly she knows Dash's Loyalty means even if she could reach it to a Stable, Dash would simply use the opportunity to save other ponies instead of saving herself. Not wanting her best friend to die horribly from fire and radiation poisoning, Gilda decides to give Dash a less painful death (in canon she respects Dash entertain her last request to sing the Junior Speedsters song with her one last time before they battle).

The battle is a draw with the Last Day interrupting it, Dash flies off to be a hero and Gilda knowing that it would be impossible to stop her, hurries back to the Stable to look out for her people, living out the remainder of her life as its first Overseer. Rainbow does her thing and gets Ghoulifed, retaining her sanity by donning the costume of Mare-Do-Well and acting as a vigilante fighting across the Wasteland protecting the weak and trying to redeem herself for helping form the Enclave and failing to stop the war.

Story wise this gives us a separate 'Wasteland' Griffon faction who perhaps just emerged from their Stable and keeps Rainbow around as the FoE equivalent of the mysterious stranger.

Dunno where that first meme is coming from, despite seeing it pop up a lot recently. Nonetheless, it holds to the natural order of the Moon triumphing over the perfidious Sun and therefore all is right. :p

11/10 IGN: Would eternal night again

"Why would you make me do this?! You're fighting so our little ponies will sleep through the night and miss the stars! Think, Celestia! Our little ponies will eventually turn to dust and blow away without seeing my beautiful night sky!"
With reasoning like this, then clearly the problem is bedtime. Unfortunately, most ponies posses great filial piety, and don't defy curfew.

Would've been kinda hilarious if Luna got triggered by what's been happening while Celestia does her best (and fails) to not have her go rampaging through Materonia.

"Think Sister, think! The world is burning down around us and you want me to sit down back home with your precious cake and tea..!"
I mean, Celestia might have a point here. Tea is pretty good. Not too sure about the cake, but that tea just might be worth the world for :V
