But really, we couldn't have chosen better time to let imperial cult publish it book. Right after successful war in Maretonia and death of a tyrant.

This will be great body to Garricks rain and Monarchy in general.

Musings of Discord on Fate

Fate

What a strange word Fate is, So small yet so big. So much weight is put into such a word yet to few ever truly understand it.

But not I no no no, I understands it well Why do you think your little empire Lives My audience?
Surprised are you hmm, and why shouldn't you be after all I planed this beginning why else would The little Rose find that book And the King would conveniently drink himself to death when I was sealed?
My my you think you would learn there are no such thing as coincidence in this world my audience

What you think I didn't know I would get sealed? ha ha ha I am a God and a VERY powerful one at that even though fate is not my realm dose not mean I can't affect it after all it is the nature of chaos to change

What was that saying you mortals have? Ah yes there it is

Fate is not set in stone,

Omake: A Draconequus' Curiosity
A Draconequus' Curiosity

Fate.

Always there, always weaving away. Never able to be broken no matter what I do, no matter what I change.

I was angry at first, when I found out what was planned. I was to be a bring of unity! I was to be turned to stone, let out a few thousand years later to test some aspiring student, and then just fade away! So I tried to stop, or at least change fate. When that didn't work I decided that if I couldn't change my fate, I could at least enjoy the time before my end.

Enjoy I did, what caught my fancy I toyed with, and what annoyed me I, well- let's not talk of those not here. And before too long, they came. The sisters, my to be jailers. I fought, I used many a trick, laid some for later. They fought, and brought the elements to bear. Those rainbow rock candies of fate.

I may be a god of disharmony, but even I am beholden to fate.

I was stone.

'And so,' I remember thinking, 'this is it, my end.'

But then, a change. It was unthinkable! Where I, The God Of Disharmony and Chaos failed, some Emperor succeeded in killing himself by drink! I was livid. I was overjoyed. but more than that, I was curious. What had changed? So I used what scraps of my power remained in this stone tomb and looked into the endless probabilities of the world, the chaos that underpins all of reality.

And I laughed. I howled. I screamed. I saw.

Threads.

Stretching across and beyond the infinite.

Beings, the likes of which I had never seen. Not able to do much more than nudge things, but I of all beings know that sometime a nudge is all you need. And so a nudge here, a mix up in the distillation process there, and a Emperor is dead.

I looked further. A merchant heir, a warrior wife. The rise of an Empire unlike any before. The Emperor's seeming foreknowledge of what to do. I was confused, not and easy task for one such as me, but confused I was. Why had they made sure that such an Empire would come into being? Why would it benefit them?

With burning curiosity, I looked Deeper.

And I saw the truth. What had seemed like good fortune and a strangely knowledgeable Emperor was in fact a front for more of these beings. They decided what to research, where to explore. And they were so delightfully chaotic! Endless arguing, infighting, and dreaming.

But more so, I saw plans. What they wished to see the world come to. An amalgam of dissonance and harmony. A story. A game.

I could not agree more.

Fate has much power, but even it can be broken. It just seemed that it took a little while longer than most.

And so I with drew my gaze back into my stone prison and waited.

I cannot wait to see what happens, can You, dear Questers?

Omake: #1 Rule of Time Travel: Don't
People talking about Omakes. People writing Omakes. People using Omakes. I guess it is Omake time. Edit: Yo @Questor, I wrote a thing for you!

#1 Rule of Time Travel: Don't

It was another wonderful and peaceful day in Ponyville, which meant that a monster attack, random villain appearance, world ending calamity, ancient evil, and/or magical mishap was about to happen. In this case it was the last one. It all started when Twilight Sparkle decided to research some forgotten history.

"Twilight, are you sure this is safe? Whenever someone messes with time it ends really badly."

Twilight looked up from the large magical array that she was finishing off. "Ok Spike, tell me one instance where time travel didn't work out-"

Spike started lifting up fingers. "Well, there was-"

"-and didn't get resolved in a timely manner."

All of his fingers dropped. "Huh, I can't really. But how do you know it won't happen this time? I mean what if we change something and then don't realize it."

"It isn't going to happen. I've already checked over Star Swirl's essays on time travel, read all of the books I barrowed from Dr. Hooves, and checked with Celestia. When Discord ruled over Equestria, the first time, he disrupted the flow of history in such a way that any actions made before his rule should have a mitigated effect. As long as we don't effect any really important people, or mess with anything during or after his rule, we should be fine."

"Well, if you say so. I'm going to grab something to read while you talk to ancient farmers about crop rotations or something."

As quickly as he could on his short stubby legs, Spike ran to his room and grabbed a book about the new strategy game he was going to play. He had enjoyed the first one and the company had just come out with the second. By the time he got back to the ritual chamber, all of the devices and magical circle were complete. He stood next to Twilight and with a flash was gone.

A Random Part Equestria, Discordian Era, Year 🦌🐐🐉🐈🐎

With a flash, a unicorn and a dragon appeared in the middle of what could only be described as pure chaos. The trees were chirping, the sun was jumping, and the animals were swimming through the periwinkle plaid sky. The dragon promptly fell down as he had just run into the very cross unicorn.

"Spike! You just interrupted my spell! Now I need to recalibrate it to get us back home."

"Sorry Twilight, I was just distracted by my book. I just got into one of the scenarios that could be played and it is super interesting."

Suddenly, the aforementioned book was magickly grabbed from his scaly hand and floated in front of Twilight's face.

"You've never been this interested in a book unless it was a comic; let me see that." She started paging through page after page, a scowl slowly formed, then she turned back to look at the cover. "Spike, this book is rated for ponies over 18 and is filled with some of the most disgusting things I could imagine. You are not allowed to read this and I will be searching through your room."

With a flick, the book sailed through the air and into a bush.

"But Twilight, I am over 18! In fact, I'm only a little younger than you!"

Before he could say anything more, the duo flashed away again into the future. It was at this perfectly timed moment that another being, much more devilishly handsome, flashed in with a snap of his finger. He started sniffing the air, then he took off his nose and placed in on the ground.

"Ok nose, be a good boy and find out what those pesky time travelers left for Discord."

With a yip, the nose was off. I went up trees, down holes, in the grass, until it got to a particular bush and started barking. Discord gave the nose a good patting before placing it back on his face. He then picked through the bush until he found a particular book. Conjuring up his reading glasses, he licked his claws and started reading. The more he read, the wider his smile got until it was larger than his face.

"Amazing, truly the work of a genius! The blood, the gore, the convoluted mechanics, incest, executions, assassinations, and all the random events. It was as if some being outside of normally perceived reality decided to write a convoluted plot to get this book to me." Discord thought about that for about one second. "It was probably just random chance. Now how am I going to implement these ideas for my entertainment? Too bad I didn't get Conquest and Kings I with this, it might have helped with working out how to use the sequel."

Arcane College of Gryphus, Golden Era of Gryphus, Year ????

In a long unused room of the Arcane College stood a machine with a very specific function. It had been designed in a collaboration between Merlin and Archimedes, used runes learned from the Crystal Heart and Yaks, rare magical materials from all around the world were incorporated into it, and took a third of the yearly budget. It had been thought to be a waste, but today it would prove that it could do what it was designed for; It would capture a time traveler.

With a trademark flash, two time travelers appeared within a shining blue bubble suspended between several metal and crystal spikes. The two occupants groaned from the aches they felt from being forced out of the time stream. Spike was the first to get up as his draconic blood gave him a bit more resistance than his purple companion.

"Twilight, I think you did something wrong. It doesn't look like we are in the right ritual room and there are banners with griffon heads hung up everywhere."

"One moment Spike. I'm trying not to throw-up right now."

At that moment, a crystal pony in a janitors uniform walked in with a mop in her mouth. When she saw the mysterious individuals, she immediately dropped her mop, turned around, and yelled down the hallway.

"Someone get Merlin! His machine caught someone! And get the member of the Black Guard that is staying here just in case!" She spared only a single glance at the glowing bubble before leaving and closing the door behind her.

Spike turned to Twilight. "You know we could have asked Discord about the history before him instead of getting into another mess."

Twilight gave a long groan. "It would have been more trouble than actual time travel."

People talked about Twilight somehow meeting Garrick or Konrad through some botched attempt to learn about the past. I simply cut out the middle man and had her travel to them. She should have learned from Starlight Glimmer, but I guess sometimes you need to learn a lesson twice.

I also believe that we as a player base would be paranoid enough to craft a device to stop time travelers from messing with the timeline or paradoxing us out of existence. It could happen at any time!

Random equestrian farmer: Age of harmony? What is that. What? No the Grifs beaten the evils of the world to oblivion, are you drinking too much sroomshine.

So in the TTverse, we existed because Discord got INSPIRED by a Game of Thrones novel, and thus nudged things onto a different track once he was sealed away.:rofl::lol::rofl:

Question guys. I remember long ago that we manage to invent canned goods and implemented them into our armies and navies. I made a quick check and I don't think we ever had a stewardship action to expand the cannery invention into the civilian market.

With Griffonia being the only country (that we know off) with the technology and infrastructure to make a canning factory, combined with the fact that we are recognized as the Breadbasket of the World (Turn 27 rumor mill) due to our high levels of food production, I feel that we are missing out on a potentially very lucrative market. In a world still used to the traditional methods of food preservation (barring the use of magic of course), and most people around the globe still traveling on foot, the canned goods that only we can make in huge quantities offer a lot of conveniences that would allow us to corner the market for traveling provisions (last for years, easy to store and carry, fairly durable due to being in metal cans, safe from pest due to being in metal cans, etc).

If what little google research that I did for the provisions that sailors had to put up with during the age of sailing ships, I expect our canned goods to be extremely popular among the sailors worldwide. No more having to put up with bland and teeth-destroying hardtack or having to worry about pest eating and contaminating food, or spoiling foods or nutritional deficiencies, having to worry about them being destroyed due to the rigors of sailing in the rough seas. A nice variety of canned meat and vegetable goods pretty much solved all of those problems.
