Not intigrated with gryphons they don't. Gryphons could carry dogs, and dogs can use crossbows on gryphonback.

Contracting the league also means we will likely have a larger army from league reinforcements.

The 'contact the duke' option is for if we don't complete the issue right off of the bat.
Aquileia invaded one hour after ultimatum, they are probably already on the way.
Our actions need one year to be completed, not to mention even if we invade early we need to set up supply lines, call our vassal, all of that might takes at best a month (not counting time we need to get there), if Wingbardy thinks no one is coming he will surrender to save lives.

It might be wise to go for lumber rather than mushrooms. We already have the fish farms, so our food supply shouldn't be in immediate danger, but if we're going on a war footing we're going to really appreciate having a large secure wood supply available.

not only would we need to leave soldiers behind for that, which would be WAY more useful on the front, but the extrafood we get with that will give us further goodwill from the wingbardians whose farms were just ravaged.

I believe you Massively underestimate just how much a Diamond dog weights, or even if we could carry them just how much that would reduce our maneuverability. And that is not even mentioning that we would by DEFAULT have 4500 soldiers less when we are ALREADY outnumbered nearly 2 to 1.

There is nothing preventing a griffon from using a crossbow while in flight, though.

Logic: don't need to tell wingbardy that help is on the way unless we're planning to wait multiple turns to help.

Diamond dogs will give us access to strategies that our enemy won't be able to counter, and will expand our army.

I'm sorry but I do not see how 500 dogs are better than the troops that the neighboring country possesses if we help it, if we start with ten thousand troops and the problems that the neighboring country has had, it must still be able to gather at least five thousand troops, unless the dogs are spartan that can contain ten thousand troops with only three hundred of them so I will vote for the plan that will give us more troops in the long run because if we save the neighboring country for sure it is a fact that they will help us to take out the enemy army of their land and maybe attack as revenge.

also if we prevent them from having a safe victory will help our rebellion roll is logical because they threatened him that if he did not get a victory he would be removed as king and to prevent that victory is to help our neighbor.

Additionally nothing about Diamond Dogs points to me to a species with eyes for precision outside of tunneling. They are a subterranean species - they see well in darkness most likely, but I don't think they had any evolutionary reason for seeing long distances. That gives a clear evolutionary direction that the dogs likely followed.

I'm probably going to regrets asking but...

Does anyone have Omake ideas?

I throwing around the idea of checking up on what remains of the Gilded Guardians mercenary guild in the present day, though it doesn't have a lot of substance.

King Garricks emotions about being a father then immediately having the worst case scenario happening.

Two crossbows better than one.

Also, diamond dogs can dig tunnels for gryphons.

how do you come to two? EITHER the gryphon has to carry him in his arms so only one, OR he rides on the back which is not only DEMEANING to us, but also stops us from doing more then BASIC flight maneuvers. As for the tunnels, in comparison to the dogs WE ARE NOT subterranean, so any length of time spend underground would not only be glacial in its speed, but also massively uncomfortable for our soldiers and thus a NIGHTMARE for our morale, which we can ill afford in the beginning stages of a War for our survival. (well the survival of our family at least)

While I would like lumber, there is a small chance that we could anger something by chopping down the forest while a majority of our forces are away. We also do need to act as soon as possible, so the warning that help is coming is very important even if it happens a hour or two before the main force.

POV of the civilians on all sides. How they feel about it, the fear, the anger, all that jazz.

I'd argue that we shouldn't call the city state for help. Right now they are pretty divided and they are going to stay neutral. That mean they won't have any of the good will the winner (hopefully us) will have. So if we don't call them we have a pretty strong influence over them that we would not have otherwise.

I'd really like to have the doggo with us. I'm a sucker for integration and synergies but this feel like the wrong time. Right now bringing dog mean they won't have that good of a training so loses. They will probably bolster enemy moral (They allies themselves with the fool xenos that attack our farms yada yada) and griffins do have a certain experience fighting them witch will lessen their impact

I really think we need to call the Duke and reassure him we're coming. He is hopelessly outnumber and he really don't want to be a stepping stone for any kings ascension so right now is best bet is surrendering and being a political pest. We need to change that and that message is a good start (and may be end).

@Questor I knew i forgot something. The title is "Only five years" and I'm gonna use the +10 for The Cavalry is Coming. Seems thematically fitting and I like that. I might have another Omake coming to but I might sleep on it too. Depend on how fast I write.
