If she is and is in the city we might found ourselves a new dutchess of Crystal city.

You want Sombra's best friend to rule over the people he enslaved and traumatized? After he gave her preferential treatment by only turning her into a statue instead of the horror of becoming a broodmare?

Besides, we already had that discussion a page ago:
the Crystal Ponies don't really have a reason to follow her at this point. I mean yeah, maybe she might become an Alicorn in the distant future, but right now she's just a mortal pony with ties to Sombra which, if anything, might actually leave people biased against her.

Basically only crystal pony that isn't traumatised and has that feeling of guilt that is pushing her to redeem herself and help crystal ponies best way she can.

Hey guys what if we build a lighthouse like tower over the capital and place the heart in that so that as the sun rises it's light goes through the heart like it's a prism? Sondra kept it locked away in the shadow while we raise it up and share it's light basicly.

Pretty sure our capital is built on an into the largest mountain in the Empire. So a tower above everything is kind of impossible without putting it all the way at the top and that makes it too far away.

I am not worried about trying to restore the lands of the former Crystal Empire (and I say former because it lacks the necessary things to be a working nation) because we accomplished in ridding the Griffons of all their starting Detriments.

Just going to put out one my concerns when we move back to normal/peaceful turns I have a feeling that our intrigue specialists are going to be out of a job since some people don't want to spy on our allies (the yak actions make sense since they have low chance of success) just my opinion.

Investigating things Sombra might have hidden, weeding out troublemakers in Gryphus, tunneling into the Orichalcum vein the Broken Horns are pretending doesn't exist... there's plenty of potential work for Ravensburg.

We won it we take it. Also leaving it behind is just asking for it to be stolen and used against us. With Sombra gone the other powers around now have access to us.
It's also a magical/Cultural artifact of extreme importance to the crystal ponies. taking it from them is basically saying we are annexing them outright, with it being so intrinsically tied to them.
We defiantly want to leave a contingent to guard it, but immediately moving it to the capitol is a bit to.. aggressive. maybe in a turn or two we can(and should) persuade them to let us move it, but it has to be their choice to do it, otherwise we could easily be seen as one tyrant replacing another.

This assumes the ponies want to stay instead of getting the fuck out of nightmare central.

Even if they want to go it is still their homeland and they will probably want to return to it so we will probably need to rebuild the city and return the heart .
I legitmiently don't get why they would want to back for entire generations have passed at minimum and even then they will have integrated into the Empire enough that I doubt the city will be all that special.

It was only one generation i believe. Sombra didn't rule the Empire for hundreds of years so i presume that there are ponies remembering time before he was a king.

And to leave the city is pretty much leaving their cultural heritage behind, running away from their past under Sombra. Kinda like final victory for him.

A generation by our standards but he basicly indusriaized breeding, killed them enmass via labor camps and sent hundreds of thousands to die in battle. For all we know there aren't really any left who remeber the time before Sombra.

Or a least in meaningfull numbers

You know young ponies need time to grow up, if he could had to create multiple generations of Crystal ponies we would had been overwhelmed by them. So i presume that there are quite few of them alive, starting from the ponies we freed.

Considering we have no idea how long Sombra has been in control we can't make that judgment. We have no idea how old he is but he was a full grown adult at least and he found out what he was fairly young. That means it is likely several decades he has ruled and controlled them. Constant trauma and torture over any length of time like what they experienced would have broken most if not all of them. I am sure if it hadn't been the Heart that freed the ponies and we had simply found a way to kill Sombra then most of them would have committed suicide just like the ones we rescued did.

But the main reason we aren't leaving the Heart is that they can't protect it, the city is completely ruined as well, walls destroyed building toppled foundation damaged, and even if none of that was a factor the simple fact that they have nothing to keep them alive in the city and territory. No one is staying here no matter what if we have to drag the people we will. But that is very unlikely there is no leadership left we saved them we awoke the Heart we kill Sombra the ponies are going to follow us anywhere. And we are taking them to a place where they can recover and be safe far away from the horrible experiences that are haunting them.

They didn't commit suicide, they were killed by Sombras magic.

As said before we dont know much and we really won't drag traumatised ponies against their will to help them, we are better to find alternative solutions like sending volunteers to help them and rebuild the city (if they choose to stay).

And that city isn't just place of horrible experiences for them, it was also their home for generations before Sombra was even a thing. I'm quite sure that they will want to come back and repopulate it at some point once they are recovered.

No read the update it says this.
Tragically, despite Sombra's seeming inability to halt your actions or kill his slaves before they can be freed, and despite the best efforts of countless healers and aid workers, not all who are freed survive long enough to reach your Empire, either taking their own lives in grief or dying as a result of their already existing wounds or ailments. More than a few die as a result of overeating, their emaciated bodies unable to cope with the sudden influx of nutrients after years of starvation, a phenomenon Genevieve dubs "refeeding syndrome".
They killed themselves or died from wounds Sombra couldn't kill any of them. The city is a ruin rebuilding it now or anytime soon is a waste of time and resorces. The land itself cannot support people if they stay they die. This isn't us moving people from a land that is safe and viable we are saving their lives. If that means forcesing them to leave so they don't die then so be it. They can be mad once they have recovered we will deal with it. If the land wasn't a blasted and dead wasteland then letting them stay with us supporting them would be the best option but the land is dead and blasted so they need to leave.

But is it wise to have them March across a frozen wasteland to our Empire? Wouldn't it be far easier to simply send in supplies and volunteers to help them recover and then see what to do from then.
We don't have Sombra to worry about at the moment.

We're not forcing anyone anywhere that's that. If they want to come we will gladly accommodate them. If not we will wish them luck and offer some supplies to help them a little and trade after that.

We move them the same way we moved the rest of the people who couldn't move on their own. This isn't a fast thing it is going to be a multi-year version of the rescue option from last turn. We set up waypoints that get supplied by us while we move the people somewhere safe. Also it wouldn't be easier to send volunteers and supplies because the amount of work to restore things is going to take a massive amount of time. As in the work of generation to get the land back up to a level where people can actually live on it.

You can vote for that. I am not letting them stay to die there. Also they have no reason to stay and if some do decide then they will die but the majority are going to get moved. The children from the breeding pens are definitely being taken no way are they going to be left in the care of people who can't even take care of themselves.
